Dude great job ,however next time get an old towel throw it on the art work then back it with cardboard . Iron it for 2 minutes This will set your paint into the fabric and last through washings a lot longer .
@@W.Ghl76 just use a towel or an old T-shirt. Basically when you’re all done painting and it’s been completely dry for 24 hours minimum you heat set it. You can either iron the design for about five minutes with a towel on top or you can throw the entire garment into the dryer on high heat for an hour. Depending on the fabric that second one may not be the best idea.
@@Sunshineattacks3 So pretty much like Heat pressing the acrylic paint vinyl but since this is paint this helps the acrylic in the paint bond to the fabrics through Heat correct? (Just asking cause I am curious to use these markers to start doing designs on clothing and was worried about washes)
I don’t know if this is helpful, but I use acrylic paint to decorate all of my clothes. I heat set it afterwards, which is ironing the design for 10 minutes for throwing it in the dryer for an hour and that makes it permanent. I wash them with my regular clothes on medium or light and I’ve never had an issue.
hello i love how it came out but i was wondering because i wanna do this to but idk if the color will stay after you wash it and if not did you come up this an solution please i really need to know
I'm about to start my own sweatpants painting project and this is stellar inspiration!! I have fabric paint tubes and plan on applying that with a brush - have you worked with regular fabric paint like that before? If so, how would you compare it to fabric markers?
Hey man can those be washed without the drawing coming off or those live through washing ? I would love to begin with customising fabric but i mean i don't know if it's really worth it
@@doubyseide the paint and/or marker ink definitely has to be heat set with at least an iron, but best with a heat press (higher temperature). Air brushing with white paint spray (instead of white acrylic) may be another alternative. I'd have to look up videos of anyone who primes with white air brush paint, then proceeds with marker drawing. Your video was awesome, you definitely have talent, but would be awesome to redo your video with heat setting at the end, run 3-5 washer tests, and report results. In my experience, paint only sticks when directly onto fabric, and acrylic layering doesn't work (due to washing). So marker on top of paint wouldn't work (in my experience), after a wash test. The washer tests: are a big deal, determines whether project is worthwhile, and one of the most common questions asked. Awesome skills and video nonetheless.
Wow, that's fire! But I somehow ended up here when I was looking to draw on some bed sheets. I feel this method works great for sweaters and stuff but won't leave the sheets soft. You happen to know how they'll turn out without doing a priming layer, or have any suggestions for this situation? 😅
Did you try watering down acrylic paint to the point where it’s watercolor adjacent, putting your design on it and then heat setting in the dryer. I don’t know if it would work for what you want but you could try it.
All of the clothes I have handpainted are good a year later but they’re only a year old, so I don’t know past that😂 but they look good right now. a lot. Just make sure the heat set them or else they’ll peel off.

Thanks for the tip much appreciated. I also heard you can throw it in the dryer.
Can you give more instructions please ? I was about to take a cooking paper and put it on the art then iron it.

HOW IS THE RESULTS AFTER WASHING THE COTTON AND DO YOU SEAL IT AND WHAT TYPE OF SEAL U USE TO HOLD ITS COLOR
Because I didn’t seal it with heat press or heat, they turned out not so good after a few washes. Definitely wanna try again
Acrylic don’t stay on. Only good for shoes as not washed as often. Looks awsome but you need textile paints
@@doubyseideso what would you use to have it stay if not the markers?
@@willietallieyou can use fabric paint but I’m trynna find fabric paint pens if anyone knows any

Ive read that u can. but just to make sure u gotta heat the paint using with iron from the inside out. Makes sense to me.
What if you painted posca directly onto the fabric and then ironed it instead of applying a layer of acrylic?
Hmmm..🤔 idk honestly. Might have to try that. Have you tried?
