    One more tip - When you arrive at the interview be very polite and respectful with the receptionists and support staff. The hiring manager may ask the trusted receptionist for their opinion after you leave the building.

      100% this! I got chatty with someone sitting next to the receptionist at while waiting to be called for the interview and turned out she was an Assistant to HR, got the job!

    I really love your contents! It's very informative and I agree with all the things you pointed out here especially the weakness part. I changed jobs a lot and yes, there was never a time this wasn't asked in an interview so I always prepared for this question. Any tips you can give out on how to answer this question?

      From experience I find personal or family reasons have been working well for me. Most times they don't really want to dig into your personal issues so they won't even bother asking the details. Another one is cultural fit which these days is something both employers and employees see as important and can be a deal breaker. However, they might want to dig deeper into why the culture wasn't right in order to make sure that you won't be leaving due to the same reason.

    Currently I'm not in the uk and I need tier 2 sponsorship visa job offer from uk employer. That's what I'm trying and I have 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering Domain.

    • @PoppyDontree
      @PoppyDontree  3 роки тому +1

      With sponsorship, I think this year is probably going to be as difficult as last year just due to the fact that many businesses are impacted from what's going on. A lot of companies also do hiring freeze until the situation gets better as well

    Nice tips. You mentioned changing your job was your CV weakness and you prepare answers. May I know what you usually respond?

    • @PoppyDontree
      @PoppyDontree  2 роки тому +1

      Well my situation probably isn't the same as yours, for me I said it was family emergency reason (I had to move to different area, hence, changed job). But I think if you come prepared with a response that is understandable then you should be good.

    Hello Poppy, your video is so inspiring and I am also in the job searching phrase in UK. As a new immigrant, I had over 10 years professional experience in a specific field in my home country. However, my job experience is not 100% applicable for UK market, thus, I am trying to apply for a junior position instead. But I am doubt that my CV has always been screened out as I am too senior for the position. What shall I do to convince the companies that I want to start all over again, from a junior position?

    Your obvious intelligence to learn such good English as a 2nd language. You also look like a model (not offended by that I hope). These two obvious things, which become obvious as soon as anyone meets you, are a huge benefit. You are also highly qualified no doubt. All of these things make a difference, even if its politically incorrect to say it.

    Hi, I am looking to getting into a new career, however in my previous career I was let go, they said because of my performance but its more that they were over staffed, and I didn't fit in with the clique, so I basically got bullied out. As I did everything, they had said they wanted me to approve on. The problem is I'm not sure what to say on when they ask why I am no longer working there.

    • @PoppyDontree
      @PoppyDontree  Рік тому

      You can say you decide to look for other opportunities because it wasn't a right culture fit. These days culture is extremely important and employers will understand if it's not a right fit.
