    These baits are the candy bait for Halibut! I have been doing this for 30+ years and they are stellar. Check back in and let me know how you do! Thanks for watching!

      @@GrizzlyCam1 It's SP. You can do the exact same thing at all of the docks you mentioned. Smelt are at each location. Focus near kelp (but not too close) and especially around the pier pilings. If you chum... they will come!

    I found a halibut hole on my local beach can I use this technique off beach ?use bobber? Or put flat on bottom, I hooked 2 earlier this week on drop shot rig fresh squid , help me Edward the butts are like 10 to 20 lbs lurking in the holes

    • @OfficeofthePacific
      @OfficeofthePacific  5 років тому +3

      Randy, you can catch Smelt off the beach. I'm not sure if a bobber would be the ticket, but you can give it a shot. I'd say the Sabaki and a small weight and you're golden. My Halibut rig from the beach is usually just a Carolina rig and a Blacktail 1/0 Chinu hook. Sometimes larger, depending on the bait. Whack 'em!

      Sure. The harbors are loaded with them. Near rocks/Jettys, piers... I've been running over them in open water. Also floating buoys is good. Try to meter them and and anchor up. Chum with white bread... it usually takes them 5 to 10 minutes to find it. Use the Hayabusa Sabiki S002AE or S068AE both work perfectly. If you chum... they will come!
