Awesome video bro thanks
Can you show us how you Load and transport your Old Towne .
Please get a rudder net thanks , beautiful fish my fav , what lure ??
Hey Adam i was wondering what your baitcaster rod and reel combo are. By the way Roger says hi. I fishbwirh him on the Santa Cruz wharf
Anytime a lure outdoes live bait I'm impressed, nice job 😃
Being that you live in an apartment in SF how do you store your kayaks?
Flip the halibut on its back to stop it from thrashing
😀👍
6th
What weight size did you use? What type of hook and sizes did you use?
Its a great day when Diehardfishing, outdoorcheflife, and Afishermanslife all post the same day
You got that right!
Drastically change the quality of the meat people.
do you need the flasher when trolling the lure? is it optional?
Small halibut like I let go, im only keep halibut between 80 to 180lb
Where you drifting or moving while getting those fish ?
Basically the halibut I catch are bigger than a 5 to 6 foot person
Don’t you need a boater card if you have motor and register it
Are those Lexas 400 reels that you are using?
Use a slow retrieve and attracts a range of fish
Ni ja military time is on pause check in
What jerkbait is that?
time to bust out my anchovy Calissas💪🏽
What's the lure?
You need a galf
Adam, and y'all that fish...PLEASE use a Rubber net... Helps to not harm the tails and gills of the fish y'all catch and release...I added this comment before you basically said the same I commenting... Y'all the rubber nets are important for netting and CPR'in fish so they can survive...
Thanks for pointing out the split tail after the net job, almost no released halibut survive the following infections and tail rot.
YEAH-BUDDY
Are you just dropping a suspending jerkbait down with heavy weight t rig?
Same question?
If so, how many ounces is the weight and how far above the jerk bait? What speed are you trolling?
Hey Adam I got so excited when I got your notification and clicked on it right away. Another epic video full of action and very informative. Glad to see you landed your first keeper and I know theres many more to come. Aloha from Kansas
Glad you enjoyed it!
right off of coyote point. we used to windsurf there a lot in the 80's.. nice fish!
loved seeing windsurfers underneath flying from Dubai into SFO in the last 15 yrs
@@mikeboston421 in the eighties the wind was very consistent out of the NW as the years went by the direction sort of clocked around more from the west and the wind was less consistent which made sailing a little more difficult and that was the start of the decline of windsurfing at coyote point... but when it was on it was a fantastic place to sail!!
I troll off the bottom with downriggers and a root beer hootchie that resembles baby octopus thier favorite food and a dodgers
Congrats on the keeper flatty! Get a nylon/mesh net and let's save those tails.
Dang so much action on the jerkbait!!
Great video. The jerk bait killed for us in Alameda drifting last year
Looks like a fun day :)
Thank you so much for another great video!
how fast do you troll? I am use to drifting and havent tried trolling yet. thanks
Caught 3 halis yesterday on my kayak but forgot my tape measure! 2 of them looked over 22 but I released them.. Not forgetting it next time
Good on you for releasing them
Props for doing the right thing, don't forget that tape measure next time!
Put hash marks on your rod / net handle or paddle for different measurements for emergencies , as long as the fish is longer than the hash mark you're legal
Hey bro! Do you have an Instagram? I would love to talk to you!
Check description!
Found it! Thank you would you want to talk on there?
You should try a Dakota lithium. Quite a few other UA-camrs I watch who do alot of ice fishing in the extreme cold in and swear by them and they are a lot lighter.
Hey man what brandkind of battery are you running on your autopilot? I just purchased an mk and wondering what your typical range is.
LFP is far better than LA batteries. LFP weighs 1/3-1/2ish the weight of LA, from a 200Ah LFP you get a good 150-180Ah of useable power from a 200Ah LA battery you get at more 100Ah power before damaging the cells. LPF will last a good 7-10yrs vs maybe 3yrs from LA...even better LFP far more efficient to charge in hours not days as it takes for a depleted LA battery ...and you can build your own 280Ah LFP from directly purchased cells for ~$400-$600 these days. The 280h is equivalent to at least 4 LA to have the same lever of useable power.
Googan Squad headquarters: why are all these people all of a sudden ordering the scout silver flash???
I like that camera angle. Let me know when you’re in SD again and I’ll drop off some bait to you when you guys are short next time.
Later.
Nice video - how fast are you trolling? How far behind your 3 way is the jerk bait?
Will you ever be able to do a safety tools and fishing tools vid?
Possibly!
Dude's channel is full of some of the best catches. Good job man!
Great Videos!
What was the name of that lure you are using? I have tried a few different ones (some work some do not). I like the hard lures for trolling better than the frozen baits.
Thanks
Solid vid Adam! That looks like fun. Added benefit is you know you’re not fouled up or missing bait if the tip is still vibrating.
Enjoyed the video, what jerk Bait was that ?
What lure bro?
Did you upgrade the hooks on the jerk at all?
I’m the one that txted u on Instagram brother about my health conditions
Sup bro!
Wasup brother nice catch great video u should do one catching halibut on shore bro so I can learn how to catch them for if I get a rod and reel soon brother that will be exciting !
Nice! May need to take my UAL to the bay this weekend and get the skunk off
thanks for the mention of stewardship regarding splitting of tails and the fine mesh landing net
Video came out 2 min ago. How does youtube show 1 view but 3 likes?
BTW, always good to see more Adam content 😃
From what I read, likes register right away where view counts show up after a certain period is watched
I bet folks hit the like button and then proceeded to watch
Good job buddy you killed 👏
How do you know where the Halibuts are??? I always catch flounders instead!!!!
Mmm that halibut will be good for seviche 🤓🤓🤙🏼🎣
So what the name brand of the lithium battery. How long does it last. I ordered the same kayak. Thanks
First at 13 seconds in!!
GULP JERK baits always more productive for me. If I bait and wait with zombie fish its usually Stingrays and bat rays.
We use 1-2 Oz Spro bucktail jigs tipped with 4” gulp minnows (white), and jig them. It outproduces natural baits for doormat flounder here on the East Coast.
I’d be curious if you would get the same results.
Using the crank bait lure. You’re just drifting that? Leader length?
I’m working right at OP and killing me seeing all the yaks on the water! Gotta get out there
Adam, you are the Halibut whisperer! You called that one in like a pro! Outstanding in your field while fishing in your kayak! Good show!
that's a great point on the net ripping the tails like that.
How 'bout if I send a box of cash- you send me a box of halibut?
How did you set up the jerk bait for bottom fishing? Thx
Love the group photo at the end lol
Keep up the awesome videos! Keeps me motivated until I can move closer to ocean again.
What size was the lure and or do you recommend? As there are different weights for these.
Halibut cannot resist the Luckycraft flash minnow 110 or the surf pointer 130 for a bigger profile. It’s like candy to them.
May I ask what kind of jerk bait you used? Also, how come you don’t use Sabiki to catch live bait to use for halibut?
What's to cost on your kayak, I'm interested in getting one,
Thanks for the info on how the net damages the halibut tail! Never knew that. Question how do u rig up your jerkbait with a weight? Thanks for the video!
Nice catch , Adam! Should mighty tasty for din din! How is Olaf doing?
So you're liking that Googan Squad lure more than the Lucky Crafts? I've not tried attaching a sinker of that size in front of it. What was the weight of that torpedo sinker? Great video by the way!
curious of this rig as well. is it a c-rig with a sliding weight above a leader that ties to the lure downstream? What sinker size? That sinker looks to be around 2 oz for the bend it's putting on the rod.
Looks like a 4 oz
Can you show how you bonk them and bleed them on a kayak? Or at least simulate it with a fake fish or something. Just having trouble imagining how to handle all that on a kayak.
did you have a sinker on top of that lure ? if not.. how deep does that lure go?
Nice size halibut. Congrats
Saya sangat suka contennya 👍👍
I also live in the Bay Area. I heard the bay is polluted and fish has too much mercury to eat. What do you think about that, Adam? Hope you stay healthy man
What lure is this? Thanks!
Looks like your really liking that Old Town ( :
Nice Fish!
Nice... making it look so easy out there. Gonna try trolling some jerkbait this week.
Have you tried to self rescue on your old town? How does it compare to your hobie outback?
Cool looking hat! Where did you get it?
Amazing, Oregon is one halibut, 3 that's great , makes the time effort worth it
Will that yak go fast enough to keep a salmon on a barbless? I remember watching you get your cardio on peddling with salmon in the past 😂
How long will that kayak run on battery?
Some of those small ones were the size of sanddabs. Nice Vid, Adam.
Nice fish brother thank u bro for the videos entertaining
Nice catch Man! where do you launch out of?
Awesome bro looks fun, you should do vid of your cleaning the fish too
What ramp did you launch out of?
Good explanation on netting 👍
Rod you’re using?
how did you get the CF number for kayak? there's no title so can you just use the receipt?
the CA DMV process on registering a motorized yak is a bit confusing, but yes you can use the receipt. If you're a member of AAA they will register it for you...I went that route so I wouldnt have to wait in line at the dreaded DMV. I'm looking at my form...the document says "Boat 101 (Rev 10/2013)". There are some parts that dont need to be filled out if it is electric. I didnt fill out Section3, 6A, 7, 8. In Section4 I put None and ELT for lienholder as most people would not put out a loan to buy a yak.
For CF you can go to any boating store and buy the stickers once DMV gives you the characters for your yak.
Great video
Awesome video ! What channel on ur radio is use most for fishing out in the bay ?
Most kayakers use marine channel 69.
That’s beautiful reel and rod
