1 week ago I posted that my 2020 WideBody Challenger being stolen via Identity Theft. I worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to find this car. (it was actually stolen on December 30th, 2020) We got lucky and found it in Columbus, Oh. as suspected and we now have it back. We have some work to do still. Arrest these people so that can't defraud anyone else!

Don’t insurance total cars if stolen? Maybe it’s different because they stop from the dealer
It shows on a carfax that’s probably why it’s discounted.
@@gotritons27 not if they’re recovered in good condition within so many days. If it was destroy obviously it would be totaled out by insurance.
@@devl1820 you might be right, I have heard of cars being found abandoned after being stolen and totaled even with no damage. It could depend on the amount of time passed.

If you pull up with a cracked bumper like that for a trade in they tell you minus 3K on the value to fix/paint. But let sell it they'll say its minor scratch can hardly see it we'll take $100 off

I paid less for my 2019 Scat Pack Wide body and it didn’t have any miles one it. I’d be in for about 30K at the most.

True. Any buyer that sees this video should never pay $43,000 for this car. Especially with those tires, those stains and there's no telling what they might have done to the engine where down the road you find yourself with a lemon.

@@jaysmith179 it was never turned into the insurance as it would cause the dealers premiums to go way up. They are better off to take the loss of the cost of the car. So it will not show up on carfax.

We will never know, but I'm sure the dealership has an insurance claim against the car, for devaluation since it should be harder to Sale for it's real value.

Personally I wouldn’t pay full retail, but as long as no performance mods were done, and the new keys are in fact the only ones that work, I’d buy it. The fact of it being stolen is on the record now, which diminishes the value. I might pay $36-38 OTD.

Lots of times dealers won't turn them into their insurance company. As it would cause their premiums to raise. Sometimes it's better just to take the loss of the vehicle.

Who would buy a vehicle that was knowingly stolen and probably driven like it was stolen? Especially from a dealership. Only if it was discounted to reflect that it was stolen would I buy it.

A scatpack wide body with Alcantara seats cost around 50k so 43 is fair and I bet he would do 40

It’s a firm number. I don’t negotiate price. We publish our best price and my avg used car only last 10-17 days.
They tinted the windows for 3 reasons a
1. Gang members don’t recognize him and shoot at car.
2. Police can’t see whose driving during chase.
3. It looks better😂

They can reinpin the lock and cut new emergency keys . We do it with repos all the time .

Glad you got it back. I remember a 650i BMW being stolen brand new from the dealership. It was in a high speed chase and was crashed. Luckily no one was hurt.

Messed up part is who ever purchases that car will never be able to get insurance on it .. i tried to purchase a 2019 scatpack later found out that it had been stolen and they told me it had to be purchased as and they refused to even quote me a premium . Smh good luck.selling it but glad yall were able to recover it

The computer should be able to isolate how it’s been used, and maybe even locations visited.
If there is any GPS or location diary information in the car's electronic innards that should be searched and studied.
You should check the breaks and other parts to make sure nothing was swapped out. I knew someone who rented a challenger and swapped the entire shock and breaks and put her broken worn out parts on the rental.
Why do you care so much it’s not like it’s yours or the dealer is gonna give it to you for recovering it. They would fire you as quick as they would fire a new person

Even though the old keys don’t work, that still doesn’t stop a Repeater Box or signal relayer from extracting the signal from the car. But at least you got to see the piece of $#!+ that stole your car… my car was off and locked, but it was still taken from a Walmart parking lot because these cars are so simple to take. I still have my keys! Glad you were able to recover the car, at least there’s a Police Department out here in the U.S. doing their job!

The key fob sign can change but what about the physical key used to get in if the battery dies?
When taking delivery in the future, have the Customer remove the mask, while standing 15 feet away. Zoom in, and now you have a clear picture of them. Make sure it does not show up as a "Theft Recovery" in the history. (Full disclosure to potential buyers of the history on this car?)

I work at a dealership in Colorado. We once had a thief steal a Dakota pickup and have a set of 33 inch tires put on it the next day (receipt in the glove box). The truck was recovered in less then a week with over 10k in damage from the oversized tires. Another thing that has happened on occasion is stereos getting upgraded in thefts.
I’d say it’s $30,000 , If I was you I’d claim the loss and sell it for that

3K miles with no oil change, no doubt run to redline over and over, it would take a steep discount. I doubt the rings will last as long as a properly broken in car.

I hope when new FOBs were programmed the locksmith also rekeyed the lock cylinder on the driver's door handle and glove box door. I'm sure you don't want the original emergency metal key to allow them into the vehicle again. I rekeyed all of the lock cylinders on my current project car since it's a former police car with fleet key access. I purged the old FOBs and had two new non fleet FOBs programmed, but I also needed to make sure nobody with a metal fleet key would be able to get into my car.

Sometimes criminals do minor/major things to kind of camouflage a stolen vehicle. My car was stolen and found 30 days later with a shitty spray job on the hood and tint wrap in the car. But they literally wrecked the inside aswell and theres a lot more scratches on it so you were pretty lucky that they didn't destroy it too much.
Only a chevy salesman could get that car back! Somehow some way we get things done 💪🤣

Even if the reprogram the keys the actual backup key thats in the two keys the thief has would still work to open the car unless the lock cylinders were changed
Did a decent ass job of putting that tint on, I can't imagine they had time take their sweet time tinting it, but also doesn't look like its just thrown on either
