I don't understand what you are talking about, let's clarify, Serbs will never, I apostrophize, will never recognize part of their territory as an independent state, regardless of who is in power in Belgrade or which powerful country is pressuring them. All Serbian politicians know that if someone tries to do that, not only will the government fall, but also their heads. To summarize, Serbs love their homeland and Serbian politicians love their heads, you draw the conclusion
Settled negotiations are a prerequisite to EU membership.
Never say never. Especially in geopolitics!
correction . Kosovo was never Serbian land . Kosovo was there way before Serbs arrived in the Balkans in or around the 7th century
Serbian people need to educate them self's before claiming something that was never theirs
@@ARYANSES and the Albanians came with the Ottomans so what are you trying to say here.
@@ARYANSES it is a forbiden history in Europe nobody can know what happened before christianity.
"EU should put pressure on Serbia..." Man, we have been living under pressure since EVER, so that won't bring "normalization". A little bit of equality and justice, on the other hand, might do the job. But Europe never learns...
And by equality and justice you mean what exactly?
@@YourD3estinY it would take to much time to explain it, but, for start, you can get familiar with UN resolution 1244.
@@YourD3estinY Probably something like compromise because Serbia does not gain much by formally letting part of its territory secede without getting anything in return. All these things have to be explained to local voters, and people here probably wouldn't even accept getting into EU as a price.
Imagine blaming Europe for Serbia's genocide
@@bojanm986 You do know that this resolution is contradictory as is the international law. These two concepts of territorial integrity and self determination of peoples sadly can't be aligned. I guess Serbia would have to retake Kosovo militarily and suffer all the consequences or they can (de facto) recognize it and try to go for improving their own people's lives instead of going for territory.
Which country would give up a patrt of its territory just to be member of EU?
Scotland
Kosovo won't. That's for sure lol
Not as single member out if 27 EU members gave its land to become a EU member.
Cyprus is a divided country since mid 1970s, yet it was allowed to join as a whole.
Serbia.
Kosovo dont need to join EU, they join Albanian in 2025 so good luck to Serbia
Interestingly enough Kosovo’s independence was widely recognized unlike that of Donetsk and Lugansk Republics…
China no
The referendum west held in Kosovo wasn’t a sham and it was the will of people. No NATO soldier pointed their AK to their heads to vote FREEDOM… Unlike Russia criminals
Widely? Most of the world doesnt recognize it.
@@robotube7361At least 108 of 193 countries recognize Kosovo's independence. Google search is all you need 😂
@@Geedi1977 Who cares,in 24 hours the situation can change so bad for you that the Albanian sea will be your final safe heaven.
I love how the "normalization of relations" first meant the withdrawal of the Serbian army from Kosovo in 1999, then the resolution of "technical issues" in Kosovo at the expense of Serbia in the early 2000s. In 2013, normalization meant the signing of the Brussels Agreement in which Serbs from the north of Kosovo were incorporated into independent Kosovo, and today normalization means the signing of the Franco-German plan and Kosovo's admission to the United Nations. It's just not clear to me how in these 24 years there hasn't been a single agreement or solution that benefits Serbia and the Serbian people in Kosovo. The boiling frog story...
Perfect, so the moral of the story is the more you wait, the worse it is for you. So, just respect the signed agreement, before on the next step they force mutual recognition.
@@User12345fanRecognition cannot be forced by any country, see Northern Cyprus as an example. If it comes to that then Serbia will just never join EU and NATO and it will be fine like that as well.
Ask yourselves why, remember your crimes and the genocides you have committed, and you have your answer.
While some are supported in changing the borders, others are not allowed to do so.
Serbia is a criminal state . It’s the same country which hasn’t sanctioned Russia thus support Russia with criminals to fight Ukrainans.
Just imagine if you only recognized Yugoslavia back in 91, you wouldn't have this mess
The governments of Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia all weren't satisfied with the status quo. Doesn't have anything to do with recognition...
@@YourD3estinYThey all got along before 1991, Europe should have maintained that. I was there during the 1984 winter Olympics. It was beautiful.
@@halon7476 why
They didn't want to be so they shouldn't
@@halon7476 My point is that it wasn't for anyone else to decide, but for the constituent repbulics of the SFRY.
@@YourD3estinY Kosovo was not a constitutional republic, so it still decided to declare independence. If Yugoslavia had been as powerful as it was in Tito's time, on the first day after the declaration of independence in Slovenia, the tanks of the Yugoslav army would be in Ljubljana and no one would be allowed to mention the word "independence" again.
However, at a historical moment when Yugoslavia was weak, America decided that it would benefit more from 7 small states than from one large one that would lead an independent foreign policy like Turkey today.
No EU.Excellent news.
How funny it is when what the West stood for in the conflict between Serbia and its southern province happens in Ukraine, but the West does not benefit from it, so it condemns what it supported. Definition of Karma
Thats not what happened.
Independence movements have happened.
Ukraine dealt with its issues. The issue is that russia interfered to take over.
Serbia was awful. And it was a part of countries that broke up. And you can't really blame Kosovo for breaking up.
Serbia is being russia here, not Kosovo.
It should take the opposite approach and be friendly.
@@DSan-kl2yc It's actually identical. The Albanians who lived in Serbia on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija wanted to secede from Serbia (just as the Russians who lived in Ukraine on the territory of Donbass wanted to secede from Ukraine). Serbia did not allow them to do so (as did Ukraine did not allow the Russians). The Albanians who lived in Kosovo and Metohija founded a paramilitary that was helped by Albania (just like the Russians in the territory of Donbas who received help from Russia). When the conflict broke out, the West sided with Albania and its paramilitaries in Serbia, because Albania itself was unable to militarily defeat Serbia, which was defending its territory. Russia is able to defeat Ukraine militarily on its own and that is the only difference. The cause of the conflict is literally identical, and the hypocrisy of the West and the US is in full glory. And karma is really a b!tch
I suspect Ukraine situation wouldn’t have happened but for the West doing the same thing in Serbia. I don’t agree with Russia’s actions in Ukrainian provinces. I equally disagree with what the West did in Serbia’s province of Kosovo.

No one stole anything. Kosovo is an independent Country with their own government. It's just the majority ( the 90%) speak Albania language with Albanian culture, like always have been.
North part of Kosovo (with Serbian population) should be moved to Serbia.
The division in Kosovo should be based on ethnic composition.
The division of territories into ethnic borders is used only in those places where America is comfortable with it. In this case, America needs Kosovo as strong as possible (and Serbia as small as possible), so such a division of territory is not possible here.
Land swap seems to be the most logical path forward. In exchange for the Serbian Northern Kosovo, Serbia can cede the Albanian regions in its south. The channel “Professor James Ker-Lindsay” has an excellent video breaking down the logic in this solution and addressing counterarguments

Albanians in Dardania all have automatic Albanian citizenship as per Albanian constitution therefore they do not care what Serbia thinks. Albanians already know they have a better trained and a more professional army than Serbia and that was proven in September of 2023. History should be a lesson to these Russian nomads that occupied territory in Europe. Albanians defied every empire that the world threw at them and that is not by being cowards unlike the Serbian army that runs and it is only capable to commit genocide and war crimes against unarmed civilians. Against those that don’t fight back. No one can stop the Albanian renaissance!

His dream was to have the Serbs dominate over the entire country. For this reason, the Albanians were forced to leave their country. This is the cause for the ethnic massacre to take place in Kosovo.
In June 1991, the republics of Slovenia and Croatia declared independence from Yugoslavia, beginning the country's break up. The next month, the Yugoslav army-largely composed of Serbs and controlled by Slobodan Milosevic-invaded Croatia.
Formerly a high-ranking member of the League of Communists of Serbia (SKS) during the 1980s, he led the Socialist Party of Serbia from its foundation in 1990 until his death in 2006. Milošević played a major role in the Yugoslav Wars.
