Jet Ski Camp Trailer RESCUE

  • We barely had enough fuel onboard the jet ski to make it home so there would be no turning back. Unless we recovered the jerry cans of fuel this was a one way trip.
After such a harrowing journey, we were tired, hungry and had nowhere to sleep. Our camping trip had turned into a disaster and we needed rescuing.
As luck would have it, we knew of some other campers, elsewhere on Fraser Island. We nervously waited at Wathumba Creek, unsure if the they would receive our text message or be able to reply. The tension was palpable then all of a sudden...

Always though JetSki trailers were a great solution to storage, but I too wondered why they were so hard to come by. I guess now we all know and your bad experience has prevented me having the same. Looking forward to the next vid.

Pretty awesome that you guys posted the disaster of it all instead of just a video on "how easy" it is to beach camp. Puts a reality check on people like myself to go prepared... Even more prepared than I would think. We do 200 mile RT trips up river here in Texas and have been wanting to try one of those things out. Not as sexy as advertised 🤣

Great conclusion to this series but I would have hidden those gas cans. But you and your bros ended up having a blast, cold beers and that rope swing and surrounding area were amazing! All in all a grand adventure. Btw, it's still winter here in the desert southwest of the US and those Hydro Trailers I have will be hitting the water real soon!

the chains need to be much longer at least 20 feet maybe even 30 feet. the waves humps puts presser on the chain but if longer the wave patterns dont match. meaning less stress. like pull an person on a tube...

What a great adventure you will remember and talk about for the rest of your life...during my 20 years in the US Army I had similar adventures in Berlin, Italy, Korea, Panama/Central America and Alaska...they were unsure and suspenseful but each ended well...met great people and will remember them forever....I subbed and look forward to watching more. I settled in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas USA...THANKS and have fun! Life is short!

Also _ I have a tonne of experience using Skidoo's up in the Arctic - the Inuit ( Eskimo) make awesome towable sleds. I would recommend making an aluminium tow "chain"- they do this, and fabricate a spring shock absorber at the hitch. I am sure you could make or have something made that is rigid, but also has shock absorber/spring .....

Well done getting through that. I've spent a couple of weeks camping on Fraser and I've seen how rough it can get albeit on the East coast. Great editing on your videos, they are just the right length and are always interesting.

Sad to see the Jet Ski trailer did not work out and the gas cans got stolen. I see a Jet ski Hydro trailer online for sale and began searching on UA-cam to see one in action and that is how I came across your channel. i will subscribe. Good content.

Jet Ski Camping No I did not buy it. After seeing a few videos of how it being pulled behind the jet ski I have a next idea on how I can achieve it without spending a huge amount of money

What kind of fuel economy are you getting out of the Ultra lx? Looks like the ideal offshore rig, wondering how it compares to a Yamaha FXHO in the effective range on a full tank.

Great vids as mentioned before. What about tubbies for extra storage space? I’ve seen someone else using them on a wave runner and they look great. More flotation, lots of storage, easily removable etc. Let me know what you think? If needed I’ll post a link, cheers

So the jerry cans were stolen then ? They were Willow cans right ? Aussie made , I bought 2 last week and both leak if you lay them on there side ...... not a good idea with fuel , plus the evaporation factor during a hot day ! fumes and stuff = kaboom . As I mentioned in a earlier comment , 💩 made trailer full stop . Jet ski’s go fast in all sorts of conditions , lids coming off and attachments breaking = poor design , back to the drawing . Enjoyed the vids 👍 lucky you have good mates .
