That's because car reviewers don't care about comfort. It's all about 0-60 times and how it handles. So the car manufacturers make cars that car reviewers like and the average joe listens to those people. At first, I couldn't understand why PSA never had a 4WD/RWD car... then realised for 99% of journeys, it's pointless, it adds weight, complexity, costs, fuel economy and most of all, eats into cabin space with a transmission tunnel... even if the car itself doesn't have the option for 4WD/RWD!

Well, I care far more for the car fun factor than it's comfort. Even the cheapest of cars provide you with enough comfort for daily driving, but getting something fun is hard now - cars just became boring. I don't want "the most technologically advanced car they ever made" that would burn my money - I want a car that is fun to drive.

Funny, in Poland there's loads of imported US cars. People value them as they resist those sick EU eco regulations. One can import a nice naturally aspirated Honda Civic, install LPG and have cheap fun for long. You can't do that with EU market cars. Also, some brands advise 30k km oil change intervals which is again sick, US cars tend to have normal 10k km gaps which is reassuring for better longevity.

I own a C5 Exclusive out of 2009 as I swithched from Audi to Citroën. As I did so, I was highly surprised that I got things for free that even the best equipped Audis (and VW's) did not offer at all. The building quality was phenomenal as well the noise development inside the car was close to zero. Not to mention the driving comfort. When you get out of the car after a long drive, you feel relaxed, even without the massage seats that the C5 Exclusive offers. The built in stereo system is definitely the best I have ever listened to in a car which is important for me as a musician. C5 Exclusive now runs +300000km without any major problem! Break discs, wheels, a lamp had to be changed once and the timing belt was supposed to be changed at 240000km. At Audi and VW they recommend a belt change with 80000km down, with a max of 120000km. 160000km difference? That is rediculous!

Modern diesels are equally fuel efficient, you don't have to charge them, they don't have the extra weight and they are cheaper and somewhat simpler to maintain.

I have owned a couple of Citroën in the past, albeit second hand and found annoying problems with the electrics. Air-con kept failing every few months which was easily fixed with a replacement resistor but at £45 a go it was annoying.
I think they are one of those cars that are better to buy new or nearly new and still under warranty. They are well equipped , comfortable and nice to look at . Personally, I have a fondness for Citroen but just wish I could trust them a bit more.

I did think the previous C5 was much better looking, but this makes that look dull in comparison!! The true beauty of the new C4 and C5 X can only be appreciated in the flesh, like when I saw one on the A40 in West London, makes other cars blend in. Well done to Citroen for making it comfy thou. My 14 year old Citroen C4 Coupe is pretty comfy for a standard car with normal suspension so I don't doubt the comfort in this one. Good job.
