Thank you Bob and Jenny of your recent travels through Scotland. We have enjoyed the beautiful scenery, in all weather conditions, historic castles and lovely campsites. We are just amazed with your visits to the castles, something we don't have in NZ. Keep safe Barbara and John 😀
Oh my goodness, Bob and Jenny what horrible weather. Thank you for taking us round . What an interesting castle, and beautiful surroundings by Loch Ness. So much information , fabulous .
What a wonderful revisit to urquhart. I visited 5 years ago but I don’t remember the sign boards. A great video to quiet my mind in these troubled times in Wisconsin. Thank you
I was there early October 2019. We opted to just do a photo op as we were limited in time that day. But even from a distance we got some beautiful shots! I would love to go back someday.
What a thorough tour of the castle! Very enjoyable and educational! Thank you for all of the walking and filming you did in the rain! I subbed to your channel when I saw an older video featuring adorable Poppy and Tara! Keep up the great work!
Greetings. Braving the weather to inform your audience. Well done. Yes we visited the castle a few years back. The weather was fantastic, but it was June and we enjoyed it very much. Definitely on our list to go back to when this pandemic is well on the way out. We hoped to tour Scotland this year, Alas, it was all cancelled because of Lockdown 1. Still there is always next year or the next! Stay safe guys. 😃
Thanks for sharing that video, I have only been once to the castle that was in 1970 when I was seven years old. I only remember the year as they were filming (or had just finished) a Sherlock Holmes film on the site. It has certainly changed.
Once again I have to say thank you. You go to great lengths to produce video footage for us to view and enjoy the history lessons and fabulous scenery of such such historical sites. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Enjoying your many videos, and aks on the various places you have visited. We usually go every year up into the Highlands, and unfortunately this year I'd not get due to the on going situation we find ourselves in. Stay Safe.
Thank you for doing a video in such appalling conditions, but even in the rain the castle and views looked beautiful, never stopped there must put on the wish list, and with your narration i learnt a lot about the castle and its history, regards.
About 25 years ago, my wife and I with our 2 teenage boys rented a 29ft yacht and sailed all the way up the great glen. We ran aground outside the castle, and it took some imaginative manoevering to get off. I swung out the boom with the boys holding on, to tilt the boat and keel off the bottom, while I got in the inflatable tender and rowed for all I was worth to tow the boat into water of a suitable depth.
Bob, I think you should have a word with the Scottish tourism board, they must be due you some recognition for your efforts to promote Scotland even in some of our more inclement weather. If I could arrange for an Oscar I would. Maybe Scotland should start handing out a BRUCE for promoting Scotlands sites and heritage. You never know Nicola might be watching. 👍🖖🏴🏴🏴
We went there about 4 weeks ago, in fact I think we parked in exactly the same spot in the car park. The weather was about the same if not worse and put us off going for a proper look. We said we’d have to go back on a better day, your video confirms that. Next time we’re up in Scotland Urquhart is definitely on the list for a visit.
Such a beautiful ruins on the Loch, I looked for Nessie but didn't see her. ☺ I enjoyed our relaxing afternoon here. I was there in the same type of weather , Scotland. When I was there they had not built the visitor center. Thank you for great memories
Hi Bob and Jenny 👏 just us 2 Saying hi and thanks again ✅ thanks again for a great video and taking us along ✅ well keep safe and say well and be strong 👍 Sue and den ✅👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Never been before. I have started using a mobility scooter this year so find your videos useful to see what accessibility is like and if its not possible to visit then I can watch you going around. That one looked ok in most parts. So thank you for that
Great video's this month just catched up with them. Sorry I haven't replied lately had a bad month our motorhome as been bumped by a run away caravan. in for repair at the moment so grounded. Mom passed away a week ago. Look forward to seeing more of your videos soon.👍👍👍👍
That was brilliant thank you sorry you both got so wet but the weather did add to the moody atmosphere of the place , I was wondering , I could see the nice smooth paths for wheelchairs but in summer was there likely to be any other form of transport , ie golf cart etc to get people with bad mobility down to the castle who don’t need a wheelchair yet but a bit of help on slopes and hills please Bob?
As newbies to motorhoming, would you advise joining a club and if so, which of the three would you recommend ? The Caravan Club. The Camping and Caravan Club or the Caravan and Motorhome Club ? As a matter of interest I had to take a works vehicle for new tyres today. In the waiting area I picked up the July copy of the Caravan and Motorhome Club magazine. I found it to contain more about caravans than it did motorhomes. Any info would be great but in the meantime keep up the great videos's. Just to add, my nickname 'Dead Dave' comes from the fact that I have worked within the funeral industry for the last 32 years. Keep up the good work, Dave and Sophie xx
We are in both clubs, but we prefer the booking system of the Caravan and Motorhome Club (was called the Caravan Club until 2017). The Camping and Caravanning Club has some great sites in Scotland, so we have a great choice.
Thanks Bob, I have been there but didn't bother going down, we had my mother with us and didn't fancy pushing her up the hill again or leaving her on her own. The £12 each was likely a factor too 😂😂😂 Anyway I now know what I missed 👍
I think the rain makes it more atmospheric. Must pop up there next year.
Thank you so much. I was able to view this castle in detail without getting wet and whilst drinking a coffee in bed.
Thank you Bob and Jenny of your recent travels through Scotland. We have enjoyed the beautiful scenery, in all weather conditions, historic castles and lovely campsites. We are just amazed with your visits to the castles, something we don't have in NZ. Keep safe Barbara and John 😀
Thank you for braving the elements, this brought back wonderful memories of our trip last year xxx

Stunning place. Even in the rain.
Enjoying all your vlogs on the Scotish tour looking forward to your next vlogs . Shame about the rainy weather ☔
Thanks Bob I am supposed to be there now but 2022 is the revised tour. You have just given me an insight as to where I can get some landscapes.
A big "Thank You" for reading all the information boards and for braving the weather. Very much enjoyed that. Greetings from Ohio.
Thanks
Hi both, oooh what a rainy day, but it didn’t stop you showing around the castle, thank you x
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for another well put together video and readouts too. Nice to come back to a lovely warm van and dry out etc.

Thank you both for giving us the tour whilst we watch in the comfort of our homes.
It is atmospheric when misty with rain.Stay safe.
Thanks for getting me out and about in poor weather believe me your doing a wonderful job.
Thanks

Very atmospheric with the weather and gorgeous colours. Thank you x

The intrepid castle hunters, thank you both, that was fascinating, take care.

You got a big thumbs up from me going around filming in the rain!!! That's another one for the list!!! 😊😊
Thank you
I know what chamber I'm looking for LOL. Thanks for sharing 👍 Mark & Coral

Great memories.
Thank you for filming this for us despite the adverse weather
Thanks

Thanks, we do love going to Scotland!
Yes looks really interesting but not in the rain. Well done to you both. Hope Poppy enjoyed being in dry and warm van
None of that infrastructure there last time we went, time for a revisit me thinks. Appreciate braving the elements for our entertainment.

🏴Just getting supper ready, West out 🐶 then to watch your rain!
With good wishes from Scotland too!!!!🐶🧡🏴
Great video!-fan from Canada!
Thank you!
Definitely worth a visit, preferably in better weather but sometimes the rain is a good thing to keep the crowds away 😉.
Think it is quieter with the timed ticket entry too.
Well done both of you . You did a wonderful job 🥂

On Sunny day that view from the castle is stunning ..
Thanks I can imagine.

I love your castle videos Bob!
I trust you had a "wee dram" to warm you up after you got back, very much enjoy that, thank you.
I did when I was there, embarrassed to say we laughed but went to the Nessie Museum. I love Scotland.
@@sandyhossman7771 + Nothing wrong with that, I think you have more chance of seeing Nessie after a small or large dram :)
A nice informative vlog. Such a shame about the weather but rightly as you said added character to the setting. Thanks for sharing.
Yes I think you should return in better weather. We went 30 years ago no visitor centre then . I think we need to revisit too.
Looks a fair walk down to it ...we went from other side of loch by boat ..a good experience
The car park is lower down, we parked way up the top in the coach area.
Well done in the weather
Never been before. I have started using a mobility scooter this year so find your videos useful to see what accessibility is like and if its not possible to visit then I can watch you going around. That one looked ok in most parts. So thank you for that
I think the Water Gate and the upstairs of the Great Hall are the main challenges.
Looks like a great video 👍
Great video's this month just catched up with them.
Sorry I haven't replied lately had a bad month our motorhome as been bumped by a run away caravan. in for repair at the moment so grounded.
Mom passed away a week ago.
Look forward to seeing more of your videos soon.👍👍👍👍
Sorry to hear that, my sympathies for your loss.
Now you know why there is more water in Loch Ness than in the whole of England!
That was brilliant thank you sorry you both got so wet but the weather did add to the moody atmosphere of the place ,

Think you'd need a mobility scooter. Didn't see any golf buggy things.
Ok Bob thank you for that
This looks great!
But doesn’t look like great fun in the rain!
todays rain is tomorrows whisky 😉
Wet wet wet... Thank you for getting soggy so that we don't have to.🌧️

The Caravan Club changed its name to The Caravan & Motorhome Club in 2017.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo Do you ever use the Certified Sites/Locations, Bob? This is the real bonus of the clubs, I reckon.
@@BobEarnshawMoHo Thanks again Bob. I hadn't realised the name change of 2017 !!!
Too much rain, had to dry my phone after watching. I was waiting for Jen to start singing in the rain.
Hi Bob, you’ve probably answered this before but is the fabric covering on your dash to protect it from the sun or to stop reflection on your camera?
It's a photographic cloth to prevent reflections when filming driving footage.
Thanks Bob, I have been there but didn't bother going down, we had my mother with us and didn't fancy pushing her up the hill again or leaving her on her own. The £12 each was likely a factor too 😂😂😂

😊👍
Looks amazing bet you were glad you didnt have a very wet poppy to dry off
Yes and glad we had a change of clothes!
