Hi. Here is a deeper dive into Liverpool's sixth European title. Our captain Jordan Henderson crying with his father, who has just finished cancer treatment: ua-cam.com/video/gB86ygg3qTo/v-deo.html
Our drunk manager Jurgen Klopp counting how many times we've won the trophy: ua-cam.com/video/Zkkm7qFkuUo/v-deo.html
The parade and its 750,000 attendees: ua-cam.com/video/g0Ec1Fcfyfk/v-deo.html
The players and the fans singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" together after the final whistle: ua-cam.com/video/weec_jzudc8/v-deo.html
And lastly, we never would've gotten to this moment if we hadn't beat Barcelona 4-0 (that's right, four) at Anfield in the semifinal. The LFC commentators were amazing that night: ua-cam.com/video/pkEpLtePJm0/v-deo.html ("CORNER TAKEN QUICKLY ORIIIIGGGGIIIIII!!")

Also a note for Spurs fans, as Men in Blazers brilliantly put it after the game: Your team losing does not make you any worse of a person, just as your team winning doesn't make you any better of a person. There's enough hate in the world, so let's just love the game and each other :).
Commiserations on the loss though! I definitely wouldn't mind a re-match in Istanbul next year ;)

I was watching the game with the CT supporter's club and it was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Singing throughout the 90 minutes and long afterward. I was driving home and I just put You'll Never Walk Alone on repeat and turned up the volume. It was simply amazing. I didn't think anything could beat watching Liverpool come back against Dortmund with the DC supporter's club a couple years ago, but that did it by far. YNWA

When you like sports, you also need to make peace with losing. There are 20 clubs in the Premier League. Only one will be champion of the League. Only one will get to celebrate like this. The other 19 have to go home knowing they were not the champion. Yes, it's a thrill to be on top. But you will spend most of your time knowing that some other team was better.
There's probably a life lesson hiding in there somewhere. If only I knew a writer who could express those lessons far better than I. Maybe something like savoring those mountain top experiences, but knowing that you have to live day-to-day life in the valley.

She then spent the next few days casually starting conversations with me by text in an attempt to prove that I'm not a burden.

He cried on Saturday and he hasn’t cried since his dad, my Taid, passed away a few years ago. Last summer I too found myself hugging a near total stranger over football when I was at a country club that my dads boss had generously brought my family too during the England Columbia game. I am not English but feel a strong affinity for the English nation team as a fan of the EPL. While watching the game near the bar I noticed another guy around my age watching wearing an England Jersey and got talking with him. Eventually the guys dad comes by and I learn that his father his English. We talk and nervously watch the game. During the PKs we were up front in a large crowd that had formed around the small 25 inch TV the bar had. During Englands final PK the guys dad looked away, the anxiety too much for him. As the ball hit the back of the net the entirety of the room burst into cheers. I'm still not sure how it happened, but I ended up in an embrace with the Man and his son, the three of us wildly excited together about a game of football taking place thousands of miles away. I left soon after and have never seen either of them again, but man if I wont remember that afternoon of delight and excitement.

“Valuing something can sometimes lead to hoarding it, when what would help the universe might be to share what you value rather than clinging to it”
What a beautiful sentiment. It’s resonating with me a lot today, I’m working on a video about my post card collection now, and I’m planning on just sending them all out after. I think people might enjoy them more if I send my postcards rather than letting them collect dust in my room.

As a fellow Liverpool supporter, I’ve experienced few weekends quite like this one. My dad was at the game and rang me and my mum during youll never walk alone so we could experience just that small part. Then my mum, who didn’t really get into football until the last few years, drove us both to Liverpool to experience the victory parade. Being surrounded by Liverpool fans and seeing Klopp with that trophy is an image i will hold onto forever. What we have at Liverpool is more than just an incredible team, it’s a whole family and i am so thankful that it’s something I can be part of. YNWA John.

One of the most powerful weekends of my life was a few years ago during the FIFA World Cup. I am not a sports enthusiast, so I don't remember the details, but I know Germany was playing. I was in Vancouver at a church youth conference with people from all over, including some girls from Germany. As we walked downtown every bar and restaurant had the game on and people were crowding on the streets to get some view of the tvs. Some were rooting for Germany, some for the other team. There were people speaking different languages, from all ages and backgrounds all watching this game together and experiencing a shared sorrow/joy. It was so innately human and I really learned that people are all the same and are all connected and can bond over something so simple yet so beautiful as sport.

Over recent years, i’ve become a huge fan of the Tennessee Titans. I’ve never really been into football but something about the team has made me smitten with them. I am smote.
Thanks for so clearly describing the group experience of Individual sports fans. Grief, joy, and togetherness are aspects of life that i treasure. Yes, even grief. Being a fan does, indeed, give us outlets for those and it’s wonderful.

Not gonna lie, that clip of the crowd in the bar really put a smile on my face. I may not care about sports, but seeing other people be so happy about their team winning that they sing and dance with strangers definitely warms my heart. We need more of that kind of wholesome joy in the world.

I went to Liverpool on Saturday to watch the game with friends and there was no atmosphere quite like it. I hugged lots of strangers and danced in the streets with them all, and then we went to the Victory Parade on Sunday which brought a whole city together. It was truly magical. To see you and those fans chanting and loving Liverpool halfway across the world makes my heart happy. I'm biased but we really are the best fans in the world! YNWA.

Upon fulltime on Saturday all I could think of was how happy you must have been at that very instant. That shared joy is precisely what I was reminded of during this video. That joy that I now know you experienced is what I've cumulatively felt through your videos, podcasts, and novels. Walk on Buddy, Walk On.

I went to my first MLB game since I was a child recently and I felt this, I felt it so strong in the bars around the stadium pre and post game. I wasn't at my teams stadium, either. They were the visiting team. But walking into that pub and seeing everyone, all there feeling the exact same way, it was magic. I'll never forget what it feels like to feel so connected to those around you, and to take an evening to just be, be, be.

When the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Finals I was at a bar in Florida with a number a other Cleveland fans. I didn’t know a single person there however when they won (ending Cleveland’s 52 year sports championship drought) the first thing I did was run to the other side of the bar and embrace my fellow Cleveland fans. That day was special, I’m happy you got to experience that this weekend John.

I understand this on such a real level, the other year when the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl for the first time. Everything you expressed in this video, yes. Going to the parade was mind blowing. Everyone was so happy and chill, never in my 34 years has my city lived up to its name as it did that day. After 58 years of losing, having to hear about Santa Clause, being the boo birds and the bridesmaids one too many times, We were the Champs. They had to respect us at least for a moment because we beat one of the greatest in a shot out. The last 13 seconds of that game last 2:30, my best guy friend were holding on to each other praying that we would hold on and we did. When that ball fell to the end zone floor, that team, our city and the fans around the world fell the weight being lifted off our shoulders.

Hey !! It's truly amazing .. the fact of sharing joy and spreading happiness ... But there are certain things and memories that you want to keep to yourself rather than sharing them.. to savour them that's truly yours..
Your videos have really helped me to understand life a lil more and creating bonds too..
There are three things on which we decide : our heart , conscience and intuition.. what should we use to decide ??
Can you please also help explain the fact the truth is bitter but how we gotta accept them..

You're a Liverpool fan?! Allez Allez Allez from a liverpoodlian/ Scouser!!! I was in the city centre when they won and there was about 750,000 people all across the centre celebrating. The celebrations went on for weeks, even now there's Liverpool flags still up all around, it was honestly the best atmosphere I have ever been surrounded in. It was such a privilege to see a broken city moulded together, even just for a second, by such a simple yet beautiful thing. YNWA

This is so resonant right now as I'm a Torontonian whose brothers have been season ticket holders for the Raptors since the beginning. The Raps being in the finals is bringing this city together in a beautiful way. Of all our sports teams, the Raps' fan base is as diverse as the city and seeing the team come this far feels like a celebration of our city as well as our team. It's a beautiful thing to be witnessing.
