Removing the rear weather stripping worked wonders on my srt4 at Cayuga. Also on my oval track stock cars same thing, open up the back of the hood

Even the Japanese Type R that only had the HKS Oil cooler overheated. After much observation from owners, I believe PWR radiator Track version is the only thing you need. Next step can be the 2020 Grille.

I think a bigger turbo is the key. Small stock turbo has too much back pressure and turns into a heat pump. Also the intake pipe, the coolant pipe in between the turbo and block are too close to the turbo which can reach 2k degrees. Proper heat shields on the turbo, coolant hard pipe, and rerouting the intake away from the turbo will help. Also changing to a track proven radiator like the PWR track version or C&R which is the US brand will definitely help. Spoon thermostat, larger opening front grill, vented hood, open vent fog light covers all will contribute to a cooler running Type R.

Great work, and i`m wondering about the belly pan maybe with larger venting or even removing it all together. My 2020 SI seems to better without it.

Have they tried removing the wiper arms to let the air out?

The advice given here isn't accurate or true at all. You removed the factory radiator ducting which isn't for "aerodynamics" its to force air through the cooling stack... That oil cooler is also a big no no. Definitely not worth it to delete your brake duct.

thanks for the insight! we'll look over this again and do some tests to get some actual data

Maybe the oil cooler has to be relocated?

Agree . Removing radiator ducks let more air get into engine bay but less air go through the radiator. Coolant temp will be raised.

But won’t the hood spacers be bad when it rains? Lol your engine bay will be flooded and water damaged.

There is your problem right there. You didn’t use the spoon radiator. Lol.
