Like most of Star Wars recent productions. The problems are not the ideas, it's their execution. Smoke, cool character on paper, totally botched. Luke's alive living like a hobo, has no use in the rest of the story. Etc So 2 lesbians conceive a baby with the Force, why not, but the producers always miss the key question: what's the purpose ? Writers introduce too many things without making use of them and that's what makes the recent Star Wars bad. I don't care about dudes fighting with lightsabers. You saw it once, you saw them all. Plots like Dark Vader is Luke's father were the real shit that came out of nowhere and kept us on the edge of our seat. Keep it simple and coherent and you get an easy win in this cinematic universe.

The killer was that viewer drop off after ep2. While it didn't have great numbers on debut it was still workable if they could retain and even improve on those figures (as Andor did). The opposite happened; viewership fell off a cliff, so much so that Nielson wasn't even picking it up in the original content top ten streaming shows let alone overall top ten streaming shows. That's UNFORGIVABLE for the biggest IP ever created with the biggest fanbase ever see. The writing was on the wall the moment those Nielson figures dropped and the viewership fell so bad because the show was awful. Awful in so many crucial, fundamental ways.

For people who might not understand, usually, a show has to be extraordinarily bad to get cancelled after just one season. Oftentimes, even bad shows get renewed for at least one more season maintain appearances, for example for the sake of stock prices, even though the another season may just end up costing them more money.
I mean Ahsoka season 1 had a lot of issues but it got renewed because majority of people loved the nostalgia of it. Acolyte was specifically written to be anti-star wars to annoy men. That's all it was, they even tried to put male nudity in it to attract more women and it didn't work.

Like most of Star Wars recent productions. The problems are not the ideas, it's their execution. Smoke, cool character on paper, totally botched. Luke's alive living like a hobo, has no use in the rest of the story. Etc

Writers introduce too many things without making use of them and that's what makes the recent Star Wars bad. I don't care about dudes fighting with lightsabers. You saw it once, you saw them all. Plots like Dark Vader is Luke's father were the real shit that came out of nowhere and kept us on the edge of our seat.
Keep it simple and coherent and you get an easy win in this cinematic universe.

they really are trying to remove how special both Anakin and Luke were, Anakin was conceived by the Force but done so with the reason to bring balance to the Force. Luke was the catalyst of some kind to bring the balance to the Force. Here, they're doing it for the sake of doing it, not for some overarching legend, myth or prophecy.
Anakin was naturally conceived by the force. The witches unnaturally used a special force "vergence" to artificially conceive twins. So it's not the same thing and doesn't make Anakin any less special.

The reason they aren't getting a second season is because all the people with disney+ subscriptions cancelled after learning their families wouldn't be allowed to sue if disney murdered them. The few viewers they managed to rake together are fleeing for their lives

The killer was that viewer drop off after ep2. While it didn't have great numbers on debut it was still workable if they could retain and even improve on those figures (as Andor did). The opposite happened; viewership fell off a cliff, so much so that Nielson wasn't even picking it up in the original content top ten streaming shows let alone overall top ten streaming shows. That's UNFORGIVABLE for the biggest IP ever created with the biggest fanbase ever see. The writing was on the wall the moment those Nielson figures dropped and the viewership fell so bad because the show was awful. Awful in so many crucial, fundamental ways.

Didn't Netflix cancel the Witcher series because a lot of people stopped watching that when they started to stray from the story in the books? The books are amazing, like really well written. Andrzej Sapkowski gave the people that made the games, which are pretty good, and the series perfect source material to use and they still messed that up.

For people who might not understand, usually, a show has to be extraordinarily bad to get cancelled after just one season. Oftentimes, even bad shows get renewed for at least one more season maintain appearances, for example for the sake of stock prices, even though the another season may just end up costing them more money.
I mean Ahsoka season 1 had a lot of issues but it got renewed because majority of people loved the nostalgia of it. Acolyte was specifically written to be anti-star wars to annoy men. That's all it was, they even tried to put male nudity in it to attract more women and it didn't work.
