    Nice riding! Still looks cold especially with the winds. Didn't look too busy either.

      Thank you, Andrew! Oh yeah, I got lucky. I shared the lineup with 2 guys. It's very unusual for that spot :)

    I love your videos, I've learned a lot from them man. You explain things well. I would love to see you try out that CI M23... no videos or proper reviews on it any where, sounds like a fun one though 😄

      Thank you! Well, May be I’ll get to M23 once I unload a couple boards. The G skate has overlapped a few and I don’t feel excited to ride them anymore!

    Yuri, another great vlog! As a Southern Californian surfer, I really appreciate including water and air temperature to what wetsuit you are using. Helps big for traveling. Your flow and overall wave riding is looking smoother and more crisp on a number of boards. Btw, some of those new subscriptions are my friends, as I’ve been telling people to follow you. Lol! Keep up the good work

    I honestly think the TPH is the best looking board out of CI’s mid length range. I even thought the pro’s looked the best riding it over the CI Mid and Mid Twin. This is the board that will work best for the majority of average surfers looking for some glide and flow in average waves. The Mid and Mid Twin look like fun step ups and/or point break boards.

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  Рік тому +5

      I totally agree! TPH is truly more versatile. Surprisingly it has a nice get up and go feel but ci mid twin is slightly faster. I should probably do a comparison review😁

      I've got the CI Mid and it shines at chest high or better on of the most fun boards I've ever ridden. Smaller waves are frustrating though, I'll ride my fish when its smaller and when it gets nice, the middy comes out.

      @@SkipperSurfReview YES, you totally should do a comparison video! I currently have a 7'3 Sunday and 6'10 scorpion. I am looking to "upgrade" and get one of the following boards though. CI TPH, CI Mid Twin, or the Album Townsend asym. It's great having channels like yours that review the boards and see how they surf etc. Not being able to test the boards out first makes it harder to choose.

      I disagree, my tph is so much faster than my ci twin fin. twin fin is a slow mover 🤙

    I have 6'5 CI TPH that I ordered custom, and I love it. The lift and glide feel so good, but I'm biased towards tri-planes.

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  4 місяці тому +2

      Thanks for watching. For smaller waves, I would go with TPH and for something bigger like over 6 ft I would go with the Glider. but if I had to pick one, I would go with TPH :) I hope this helps.

      @@SkipperSurfReview not on Monday, but Sunday was a good time! I went out east and caught some fun ones. The current made it so I had to run laps (paddle out, catch wave, get out, walk back up the beach, repeat). TBH I really don't like that grind haha, so I only caught a few and then called it a day.
      Looking forward to the coming swell, though!

      @@SkipperSurfReview had the opportunity to surf a TPH last weekend at Churchs/ San Clemente in similar conditions. It was a lot of fun. Wondering if you had an opportunity to try out the Album Darkness and had any comments/ thoughts on it?

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  Рік тому +1

      @@christophcluever1715 I've never tried the Darkness.. but I've got a few people who had it in the past and they were not so into it. That board is more like down the line, way too bulky unless you go custom.

      @@SkipperSurfReviewIs the tph a better paddler than the Moonstone would you say?

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  Рік тому +1

      @@davidcallaway5697 Yes, tph is a better paddler. In overall template it's wider and can carry a lot of speed down the line. The moonstone will go quicker rail to rail and it would feel closer to a shortboard than the TPH though.

  • @TheJDenz
    @TheJDenz Рік тому +1

    Hi how would you chose which size to get in this board?

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  Рік тому

      Hey TheJDenz! it depends on your preferences and waves you surf! I only got this one because my buddy was selling it for a good price. So, I couldn't resist haha. This size does carry me well in small waves. 6'7" is so fun to ride. When I see a section I can make a quick turn on that. If I had a bigger size like 6'9" it would have more volume and that could be a problem to get out on bigger days when we have short period swell with no lulls. It would be easier to catch waves though haha. There is always a trade off. But I personally wouldn't go below 6'7" on TPH.
