- ThriftDiving.com - In this video, I'll be reupholstering a chair. It's a vintage Chromcraft office chair I found at the thrift store for under $10.00! Watch how I struggle to remove the seats which were old and stained. It turned out pretty good, despite challenges!

Hi,new sub, great channel, great projects, great enthusiasm and great honesty!
I'm just wondering, 6 or so years later, if the painted plastic stayed looking nice?
You're a women of my heart. My neighbor put her dining chairs out for bulk trash pickup. Well I got them, and reupholstered them. She now wishes she had them. OOPS! 🙄
Oooh, I love the idea of people wanting their "trash" back when they see what they had given up! LOL. Maybe they'll think differently next time they want to get rid of something! :)
Thrift Diving Exactly! They were really good heavy(quality) chairs. She knows now. 😉
poppyshoessp Love it..... Another man's trash is another man's treasure...
Michelle Gomez Or women. 😉
poppyshoessp lol that's funny, u know what they say 1 mans trash is anouthers treasures!
I love that you show your mistakes. Your videos are very motivational too. Thanks!
Thanks for being transparent! I can’t tell you how many times I make these kind of mistakes!
I'm a new subscriber who just purchased a new home. You have saved me a TON by realizing my old furniture just needed a face lift! THANK YOU!
I have two left hands and every time I even attempt to paint or built or repair something it always ends up worse so I hate doing that. But for some reason I can't stop watching your videos! The end result is always so satisfying!
I would love to see how you would revamp lamp shades, or headboards. Maybe car headliners and visors...Your tips and videos are very handy. Girl Power at it's Best! :)
Beautiful, both the lady and the chair!
I love how you show your mistakes. I see myself in you.
my GOD LADY YOU ARE INSANELY TALENTED
i spent all day watching ALL of your videos! KEEP ROCKIN ON
A lot of these things arent my particular style but i love seeing you transform someone elses trash into treasure!
You need your own TV show! Every time I watch your videos I think that!
SimplifyingWithEbony omg I had the same thought. ❤ her ideas and easy to follow how to ... No one would ever buy expensive furniture again xo
You are GREAT!🤗🤗🤗
Now,that's beutifull! !!!!!!!Something out of (really )nothing! !!!Paint to your heart's satisfaction! !!!
I love 💖 watching you tackle these projects. The mistakes make me feel like I can do it, and its ok if I make a mistake. There's always a way to fix it. 👍The way you present how you do things, make it easy to understand. I cant wait till I start my first project 😏
Aww, yes, you can do these projects! Mistakes will always happen but if you take your time, you can usually find a solution.:)
Thank you for sharing your frustrations with this chair. It gives all of us hope when a project fights back.
Awsome! Much nicer than most store bought! ❤ ❤
It looked so good afterwards! Couldn't even tell you made any mistakes
Despite the mistake, the chair turned out fabulous. Thumbs UP
In spite of the problems you had with this, the chair is beautiful!! When you were disassembling the chair, I couldn't imagine what those grungy light colored strips of fabric were for on the undersides of the cushions. TUFTING!!! Nifty! Donna D.
Yeah, they were so gross! They disintegrated when I was trying to remove them--that's how old they were!
:-D
I like how she honestly show her mistakes, love it
Thank you! There is definitely no hiding mistakes here on my channel! LOL
CONGRATS MISS!!! Good JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! CHAPEAU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BEST WISHES:
Gigi : I am an upholsterer.
Great upcycling, love how it turned out 😊 I like how you admit your mistakes some wouldn't ! You're so real ❤️
I’m literally addicted to your channel. Your voice is smooth and easy to understand
Awww....that's so sweet, Devin! Thank you so much. Enjoy!
Oh Serena....I love your honesty and frustration in this video, cause that is what usually happens when I do a project. The chair looks fabulous. Keep on keeping on, girl. .....Saundra
I love how you show those little frustrating moments that always seem to happen in diy projects. We all make mistakes! So it's nice to see that actually represented in a diy video!!
Yes!! Mistakes happen often! :) That is how we learn. I find that many people get intimidated by projects, thinking that always have to be perfect, and that is SO not the case! LOL :) Glad you were able to identify with it!
You breathed life into that chair! Well done.
Such a cool chair. Great makeover. I usually just put the new upholstery over the old on seats like that. Laughing because the cushion does look like cornbread.
😭😭female version of Bob Ross when it comes to crafting ❤❤ it's okay it's a happy mistake!❤❤❤
Measure twice cut once now you know awesome video turned out really cool
Don't care how many times you messed up. This came out just perfect!
Aww, thanks, Lisa!! We just have to roll with the punches! :)
I love that u posted ur mistake!! Most blogger seem "Above" that because we rarely see it even tho we know it happens lol I've been sewing 20 yrs and still make em lol The chair came out beautiful and I'm making two as soon as I get sum cute material thanx!!
Thank you! I know, right?? I don't think we EVER stop making mistakes! This morning I was watching a UA-cam video with a guy who was doing a demonstration with a track saw. He looked like a professional.....that is, until someone in the comments section pointed out that he put his dust mask on upside down! HA! So, that goes to show you, we all make mistakes, even stupid ones like putting your dust mask on upside down! LOL
Thrift Diving 🤣😉
So happy this arrived via email! EXTRA happy that your DIY video included CC(closed captions) that were accurate and not garble! Really enjoyed your work on that ugly chair and that despite mistakes which makes you quite normal, and finished it beautifully! 2 thumbs up.

This is so awesome. I've wanted to redo our office chairs forever. Thanks for sharing. Especially, the point about working with the harder plastic. That's something to consider.
OOOhhhhhh but that chair turned out so pretty. I love colors and patterns but they can be a nightmare when doing reupholstering work. You did really well and you made your mistakes work for YOU. Brilliant. You absolutely need tea and biscuits from Mr.GreenEyes.
