- Is it a hype train, or are these headphones really that good? Today we're taking a look at the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro headphones for gaming. These are 250 Ohm headphones that require an amp to properly power them. Let's find out if people are using them because they are Ninja's headphones, or if they are actually that good. Bru the production quality of this is insane.
You can totally replace the cable, they sell replacements for around 20€. It's just a tad more complicated to replace!
I use the fiio e10k with these, and they are truly amazing for gaming and especially music. I like treble so these headphones are for me!! I love it so much
The non removable cable throws me off
As someone who plays Tarkov too, sound is so essential in not getting my self killed 5 mins. into the raid. I was happy you mentioned that It sounded good in tarkov as my main reason for buying these was to get better sound quality for FPS games like Tarkov. Appreciate the review!

I just recently picked up the DT 770 Pro's myself, which are basically the same thing, just closed-back, and could not believe the difference they made. They are amazing.

As someone who used these headphones for years now, I will say the earmuffs can get really worn out and the sliders can break/crack easily. They do sell replacement parts for the 2 and practically everything else about the headphones(you could theoretically make your own buying all their parts) but they're fairly pricey. I highly recommend those who get these headphones to be aware of the potential of the slides breaking and the ear muffs wearing out so I recommend you all to be very careful with them and take care of them properly. But overall it's really good. It does sound very quiet without an external amp. I grew up around other studio-grade headphones (mainly because my dad loves to get top-grade headphones and really picky about their sounds and he tends to give the ones he dislikes to me). I recommend those who can't get an amp because they're fairly pricey to get a different headphone (I'd recommend a Sennheiser HD598SE or something along the lines) otherwise you'd just be wasting your money on headphones that you can't get the best experience out of it.
