I am glad you are able to easily find tradespeople to do all the handy work. It is so expensive here in the US, to hire folk, and one has to be careful they don't steal from you. A friend of mine hired a company to redo their roof. The crew that showed up spoke no English at all. One of them asked to use the bathroom. They didn't think much about it. A few days later after the crew had left the house, they discovered all his wife's jewelry was gone. She thought it would be safer in the bathroom if somone ever broke in. They had no proof so as usual there was nothing the police could do about it. Some of it was of sentimental value too, as it had been passed down. Even to this day she gets upset and can't talk about it. One has to be very careful who you let into your house. They assumed that when they met the guy who signed the contract with, was the one that was going to redo their roof, they didn't know he was going to subcontract it out to a crew who spoke no English and possibly not legally in the country?? It is always risky. An elderly couple down the road from us hired a couple of Cuban immigrants to do some work at their house. They had had used them off and on for several years and got along well with them. Unfortunately one never knows who is into drugs as they don't show up as users. Tragically, they were murdered in their home...but the law was able to arrest them in Florida...the State you are going to! 😮. Make sure you always sign a contract with anyone that does any work on your house. And be absolutely clear on what you are getting and that it is in detail in the contract. I have dealt with some unscrupulous contractors, it can be a nightmare, i always end up on the losing end. I just cut my losses and move on. And always try to get 3 estimates before you select one. Anyways, i am sure you guys know that. Just don't let your guard down with them folk.

Anything under 60°F for Floridians and Californians is cold ❄️🥶 Until yesterday, it had been raining for a week straight all over the state with flooding and mudslides around the state , especially in SoCal, including a local LA freeway was completely flooded with cars driving though it.
I’m a homebody too and it’s ok to spend a day doing “nothing” sometimes. In fact it’s not “nothing”, it’s self care or a mental health day if you will. Some days you need to take a step back, relax, regroup and then move forward with a clearer mindset. Enjoy your getaway to Florida! Take care! My sister is also here who lives just outside Orlando on the coast and although it's also cold at her house, next week it will be back in to 80's (F) during the day, so hopefully you'll also get some nice pool time. loved this chatty video, Joel. I really smiled when you were describing the snow. I grew up in New England and I remember snow 2 feet thick and hollowing out snow drifts to make a snow fort. I remember a Thanksgiving date when we had about a foot of snow on the ground, it had rained and then froze making a really hard crust and we skated all over on top of the snow. Those were the days!! I appreciated the fact that you have other "irons in the fire" as it were. I know we really enjoy sharing your life with you and Keegan and the kids. I wish we could do a "meet up" in Florida, but most of all I hope you and Keegan have a great time together!!

Aside from a few blips here and there, I’ve always been single. One of my go-to sayings is, yes, I have to make my own decisions but I also get to make my own decisions! 😀 Works for me. But you can still maintain that independence in couplehood. Just might be a little trickier. You do you! 😊💐

You’re feeling the cold but I’m experiencing the exact opposite in Australia where it’s summer. I’m touring Cambodia at the moment and even in nominal winter there it’s very hot and humid. Much like Florida as I experienced it when I was there a few years ago. Have you thought about venturing further afield to Australia or SE Asia? I’m sure you and Keegan would enjoy it.
I've rented property in the UK and not once did it come with any type of furnishings, especially a bed. Why would a landlord be expected to furnish a bed? If you had a short term rental situation like an airbnb that would be a different situation. Personally, I would tell the tenant to go out and select the bed of their choice and have them pay for it. Seems nuts and unsanitary.
Fascinating. Perhaps where I rented most renters like myself were U.S. military personnel who had our own beds and furnishings shipped over although I did purchased a bed there if I recall. Glad that you got your bed situation squared away and it is always great to have friends who can do favors.
You guys don’t have Park-Fly & Sleep Service. You go to a hotel, park your car there, then fly to your destination. Afterwards you go to the hotel and get your car and go home, or you can stay another night. We usually use this service when we travel.
Joel, there’s no ring on your finger, but welcome to married life! In all reality, that’s how it is in life and I have to say that if you stil long for the bright lights of London and all the amusements of being single, it will intrude into the stability of your relationship. Sometimes you just can’t have it all and you have to get your head on straight where your future happiness lies? In life, there are sacrifices to make.Keegan’s life is settled, you need to be on the sane level.

It sounds like it would be helpful to your life to set a list of priorities. Then, work out a schedule to make the improve your chances of meeting those priorities. It would probably need quite a few tweaks while you see how life affects the schedule and your priorities change. But, it would help you better see as well as sense your meeting steps towards your goals. Good luck with meeting them. You have traveled so far in life in such a short period of time.

It's true about the temps in Florida I moved to Tampa from Boston 20 years ago so cold up north would at times be below zero fast forward here in the south and 65 is coat and hat weather. Wow! The snow is beautiful! Was Ava with you? Oh! I miss the snow. Only get a dusting once or twice a year in San Francisco and usually it is more hail than snow. A fews mountains around the Bay Area regularly get snow on the tops in winter, but that it isn't the same as seeing it pile up outside the window. 🌨☃😍

Joel, I was at work today & the snow was falling in Barnsley, lots of clients cancelled so I finished at 2pm! Drove 7 miles home towards Doncaster & nearly no snow!! Crazy the difference in just a few miles!!

It’s very normal in the UK, when I was renting the landlord usually provided beds, wardrobes, sofas etc. not always, but sometimes.

You guys don’t have Park-Fly & Sleep Service. You go to a hotel, park your car there, then fly to your destination. Afterwards you go to the hotel and get your car and go home, or you can stay another night. We usually use this service when we travel.
Many US airport hotels have this. Orlando does.

It sounds like it would be helpful to your life to set a list of priorities. Then, work out a schedule to make the improve your chances of meeting those priorities. It would probably need quite a few tweaks while you see how life affects the schedule and your priorities change. But, it would help you better see as well as sense your meeting steps towards your goals.
Good luck with meeting them. You have traveled so far in life in such a short period of time.

It's true about the temps in Florida I moved to Tampa from Boston 20 years ago so cold up north would at times be below zero fast forward here in the south and 65 is coat and hat weather. It will be 60's at night and 80 in the daytime for the next few weeks so you guys should be fine. LOL Hope you all enjoy. 🏖

Yeah the estate agent will manage it once the tenants are in! We’ve had to sort out all those bits I mentioned to get it up to scratch before they move in!

Wow! The snow is beautiful! Was Ava with you? Oh! I miss the snow. Only get a dusting once or twice a year in San Francisco and usually it is more hail than snow. A fews mountains around the Bay Area regularly get snow on the tops in winter, but that it isn't the same as seeing it pile up outside the window. 🌨☃😍

Joel, I was at work today & the snow was falling in Barnsley, lots of clients cancelled so I finished at 2pm! Drove 7 miles home towards Doncaster & nearly no snow!! Crazy the difference in just a few miles!!
