      yep, there are some touches that look better (few) but the frame, frame design (asymmetric) heat protection plate before the exhaust, wire-way under frame...
      Just give me a new dash for the old one, and I'm OK :P
      also it is not tubeless, and so few technical accessories compared to the old one...

    I test rode a BMW R Nine T, Ducati Scrambler, Triumphs and then this for an everyday city commuter. This was the most fun of them all at inner city legal speeds - its like a little go kart the way it sticks to road through bends and accelerates as you bang through the gears. So i bought it and saved myself $13k AUD over the other bikes i originally thought I'd buy.

    Great review! I bought my 2024 Svartpilen 401 in june, have ridden 2300 km. Never stalled on me! I downgraded from a 2017 Triumph Speed Triple R, lost interest in riding fast, getting old I guess 😆 Anyhow, this little bike is so much fun, I think its like 75% street and 25% "off road", I ride it on dirt roads all the time, no serious off roading of course. I dont think it feels like a small bike, except for the obvious less hp and top speed. It's actually bigger than my Speed Triple was but 50 kg lighter!

    How is this bike a mid level naked? The Svartpilen 801 wouldn't be called a heavyweight. I'm sure most people would call the 801 a mid as they did with the 701 as a competitor to a Yamaha MT07 and Suzuki SV650 and the like.

    • @iansmith237
      @iansmith237 Місяць тому +4

      could it be in regards that 401 can be ridden on A2 license?
      I Norway we call A1 license "light motorcycles", A2 license "middle weight" and A license "heavy motorcycle".
      Not regarding the kg or pounds, but amount of hp or kW.

    It's cuts out at low revs the same as the problem as MCN had for this bike, but its not a big problem. Said by some1 who has been given the bike to ride, obviously. If this was his £5.5k of his own money spent on it he would be be taking it back, moaning and 😢 that it's not right. In true YT journo motoblob style, it's no biggie.. KTM, Husky, Gas gas all garbage. If you like the design and have no money buy CFmoto CK 300, lighter, way more ereliable, same tech, build is as good if not better. Yes the power is down, but reliability is up as not the over bored 300cc engine to 397cc in KTM & Husky.

    I've got a Tracer 9 and a BMW G310R as a 2nd bike. Is great having a small bike as well for shorter rides, country lanes, traffic, and thrashing on B roads. However it's a bit embarrassing going to bike meets on such a physically small bike, so I'm trying out the CL500 and the Guerilla 450 for a PX as they look more like a grown up bike!

But 2-3 weeks ago I brought the bike back at my dealership to resolve that and they said that husqvarna released a firmware update for the control unit and from that moment I can confirm that it never happened again, so you must have ridden a bike with an old firmware and now it's resolved

There is no talk about soft camshafts on the 401s. I've had zero problems with my Vitpilen. Am I going to get the new 401? No, I like what I have just fine, love the clip ons. That said the only thing I miss out of the ‘22 Vit is a front shock preload (more cost I’d imagine) and an off option for the quickshifter (should be cost free to Husq) as it interferes with manual clutch less shifts which I love to do.

    The big flaw is the tube tires, they deflate easily and are a pain to fix. If it had got alloy rims or tubeless spoked rims as an accessory, then I'd buy it. I know adding tubeless spoked rims increases the price, but as a safety factor I want no compromises cause tube tires deflate instantly and there is a safety problem while you are braking, and will crash on any obstacles despite having abs on. Why should I live with tube tires?

    I have sent a mail to Husq, asking about the stalling issue and how they want to address it, mentioning the FuelX Lite. The answer:
    "thank you for contacting us about the Vitpilen 401. We have not noticed the engine stalling at low RPM speeds. Please contact one of our dealers. You can do the test ride and test this behavior by yourself.
    By using FuelX Lite, you increase amount of fuel which is injected to the cylinder. You get smoother throttle respond, lower temperature in the cylinder, however your motorcycle doesn´t meet the EU norm.
    All new motorcycles must meet actual EU emision norm. However what you do with your motorcycle after purchase is up to you."
