I had a deposit down for the Husky. Then the dealer called and said they had lost the franchise! So I am picking up the Triumph Scrambler on Monday with a new 74 plate on it! It's my first bike, so I'm off the scale excited.
I'm own a 400x and it never fails to just blow my mind! The Husky too is great, but the 400x is just the bike I've been looking for! Honestly, one cannot go wrong by picking either 2, they're that great!
@@johntheaccountant5594 it was all down to luck really. The Scrambler was my first choice but when I originally enquired, was told I would have quite a wait and the speed 400 seemed a little small. After losing the Husky, and with no other Husky dealers anywhere near me, I went back to Destination Triumph who said a green Scrambler had just come in and wasn't allocated and I could have it. Funny how things work out
Style wise? Definitely the 'pilen and I honestly don't think it's close. Sure, the Triumph has that classic style that we've all seen time and time again but the Svartpilen and Vitpilens are some of the most dynamic and unique looking mainstream motorcycles out there. I agree with all the other points though personally I loved how simplistic my Vitpilen 701 was and don't necessarily think the 401s need all that tech.
Triumph every day but as you said the speed I’m not going off road I’m only using as a winter hack back road scratching perfect bike and will help to keep to the speed limits 😅
If you forgo ideas of going off road the’24 Vitpilen is way quicker than it ought to be on varying quality of roads. The lean sensitive ABS and TCS together with the Power 6 tires just 👌🏼
You nailed that conclusion, Bob. If it's not good off-road then just go with the road version. Now make a video between the Triumph 400 and the Vitpilen, it seems that's the real question :)
I drive a 2022 Svartpilen and I'm very happy with it. The new model is better with a large tank, and equipment is quite enough in this category. Triumph has made a good model but, for me, with 400cc, I prefer the Husky. 17" at front tyre is an advantage.
I was planning to get the Swart401, but at 6’4”, it wasn’t comfortable for me with the “wings” at the top of the tank, could not comfortably put my legs under them. Got the scrambler 400x and it’s been great for me.
Didn’t ride Hisky but can’t imagine that the suspension is much better than on the Scrambler400x. The Triumph is a joy to ride. Suspension is smooth AF and it handles so well in winding mountain road. It’s a charm believe me.
I am after a small bike . Reason i am small . I have back problems due to a bike accident in 1987 still having problems with it . Basically i stopped she didn't. I personally like the triumph to me it looks like a motor bike not a plastic toy.
I was team Husky and Svart more so, atleast for styling, up until the current 401. They really just relieved their bladders on my aesthetic expectations this time...
Many times the specs of the bikes don't count for the final decision. And not even the looks. The person you have selling the bike is the most important. I love Triumph, always wanted to have a Bonny, but I've been put off every time I've gone to a dealership.
In India the Svartpilen 401, 1. Does not get the IMU. This means no Riding Modes, Lean angle ABS and Launch Control. 2. Does not get any accessories anywhere in India so can't get the OEM tail tidy or the slip-on exhaust or tank bags or Ergo seats etc. 3. Does not get the Pirelli tyres due to some new regulations. It's replaced with a much cheaper (around $200 - $300 cheaper) tyres. Guess what, KTM decided not to reduce the price of the motorcycle despite this huge change. AND despite all the above, the Svartpilen 401 actually costs $250 - $300 more than the Scrambler 400 X. Now tell me guys, which is a better deal 🥲
In Poland Svartpilen has IMU, riding modes, better tyres (although unfortunately with tubes) and quickshifter (which is unavailable in 400X), and 401 is about 450EUR cheaper than 400X (although currently there is a discount 10% on 400X, so it is cheaper than 401). But after checking 400X and 401 I prefer... Triumph Trident 660 😁
i don't see them as equal bikes - yeah 400cc but imo it ends there, the husky is just on another level , if it was one or the other there is no way i would buy the triumph- i have to disagree that the husky is a scrambler look hahahaa, it has semi 50/50 tyres but it is about as much of a scrambler design as a bogger - the 400x as a scambler is useless too unless you weigh about 63 kg
The Husky has the aftermarket exhaust. I get that the aftermarket probably will sound better - but I expect that you lose low end torque. You would need to compare a stock bike for a fair comparison. Remus if you want the sound.
I'd be interested to hear why you think the speed is smoother than the scrambler and if you think the speed would be any good for light off-roading with the appropriate tyres.
Wow, the Husky is $1500-2000 cheaper than the Triumph here in Australia. Also, controversial opinion: the Triumph is ugly as AF. Looks like a parts bin bike... Seriously, black, red, a brown seat and gold tubes - too many colours 🤮
Practical utility and looks wise, scrambler 400x is better than svartpilen 401 cause 400x is well finished than 401 and 401 has spoked tube tires whereas 400x gets tubeless tires.
@@4308top no, Svartpilen is tubed. The rubber on it says "tubeless" but there is a tube there (ua-cam.com/video/BUS2kRBKkwE/v-deo.html at 1 minute 36 seconds). Vitpilen is tubeless.

My husky has never cut out. Much better ride than the 400x when pushing on also. I tested both and the Svart was better in every way and you can get them for £5000. A hell of a lot cheaper than the 400x.
