*Alchemist:* So I've spawned next to a Tree of Life, couple 5 planet systems with multiple strategics, 3 minor civilizations nearby... pretty decent.
*Me:* So all the systems are gas giants, the Poisonous Face-Biting Locusts anomaly is costing me happiness, and the Intergalactic Pirate Convention's happening next door... what was this guy trying to do on turn 7 again?

Love this updated video. The game has changed quite a bit since its first release and many of the expert guides you guys originally did loose some of their relevance (don't get me wrong though there is still a lot to be learned from them). Even now some things get balanced out and changed around. I would love for you guys to come back to the game and discuss the new changes and your thoughts on them.
Anyway, thanks a lot for all the content on this channel. By far one of the best 4x content out there.

Just started this game for first time shit is it a different beast that I'm used to. Played a ton of Stellaris but I feel so confused. And seeing this guy take 2 hours over 30 turns makes me feel like I'm fucking up being at turn 8 after 5-10 min already.
That’s normal, it’s taking him a long time because he is explaining his thought process to making choices.
The term you are referring to when you say tact is called tempo. It's the art of timing and logistics to keep yourself always doing something useful each turn, instead of standing around and waiting.
If you are going to build the Drone Networks anyway isn't it better to build that first since it already boosts the production speed of Cerebral Reality and you also get the 10 food to start growing vertically immediately?
OK i hate to be that guy BUUUUUUT building cerberal first gives you dust and scince while you build the network so youll get more dust to colonize other systems and bribe minor factions faster . (if i do spawn close to other factions i generaly rush dust production cuz i like getting all the minor factions i can) (oh and also if you chose toiz for boiz you become exctatic cuz not only are you a republic which boosts toys for boys to +30 you also have +10 for being lumeris which means you get more dust and scince from the cerberal)
Cerebral reality lets you start stockpiling dust immediately, which is essential for everything the Lumeris do. There's nothing worse than finding a perfect system and then not being able to colonize it because you're 10 dust short of it

Welcome back and thank you for putting out this great content. Would you consider turning up the speed of the animatioms in the game? Waiting four seconds per anomaly probe is a bit much, and it adds up... :)
Is there a hotkey that shows how many turns a ship movement will require before you commit to the move?

I'm trying some of your strategies, but when I put my hero on a ship, the game wont let me take him off until 15 turns pass.
Was this something in the patches i missed?

I dunno much about expert level play, but why don't you use the probe refit trick?
Why would you not use 4x animation speed? I can't stand having the probing take that long.
After a long break from ES2 I have come back only to find that, in my opinion, most of the balance problems between factions still there. The horatio are still pretty poor and the riftborn in a multiplayer game I tried appeared completely op, I know I had a poor start but by turn 40 my friend playing them had 4 times my research. Its a bit disappointing that after so much time they haven't mad a thorough balance pass over the factions to try to at least remedy some of these imbalances. How are you finding the faction balance? Is this impression just a problem of mine?

I think the Lumeris get 10 dust on fertile when you boost their population using their preferred luxury.
MagicMono10 Yep! Very strong, but surprisingly not OP.
You were going to fail the quest to assimilate. Only had two more turns to make the science. The pirates were about to start killing you as well. They really ramp up after turn 30, will have medium ships soon, and will start invading your planets.
so sad those guys stoped doing those videos
