It's the history of our planet that has gone through many different stages and that's why they have squeezed in 5 parts into that story. I agree though that musically, especially in modern times when we are used to short songs, it can feel very drawn and boring at some moments but if you truly understand and appreciate the story behind the song even the first part makes complete sense. Gotta say aswell that I kinda have a weak spot for pianos so sometimes I actually only listen to that first part :)

Floor definitively has a gift, but how much work she has done to develop that gift should not be underestimated. Her voice is a very developed and highly tuned instrument through years of dedication, care and hard work. Making it look effortless really means she has placed so much effort in making it right, it looks effortless to repeat the end result.

They are my Nr 1 of favorites bands. I hearing this band know for 17 years. And it will last to the end of my life. The 1st time I hear them was 2004 in a German show. Name was top of the Pop.

Someone pointed this out in his reaction, but at the end when she goes into her operatic style on the 2nd chorus she has her arms out to her side with the palms down and right when the chord was hit and the flames shoot out she twist her wrist with the palms up. Just the little things she does without thinking only feeling the music thru her body and reacting to it so gracefully is what makes her stage presence so natural and strong. Well besides the voice. Lol Edit ok looks like the palms are semi up but at that moment she gives a little twist and brings her fingers to her palm.
When your "GIFT meets your PASSION" is the best description of Floor I have heard in a while. She makes it look easy but everyone hangs on her every move and her every note. Her band- mates are exceptional musicians but the stage belong to Floor and they have no issue with that at all. Floor, of course, as is usual is always acknowledging her band mates for making her look and sound so good. I always tell people you DON'T listen to Nightwish you experience them especially with any LIVE performance. Great reaction and I would love to see them team up with The Warning, now that would be a show that would make anyone's bucket list!!!!!

Nightwish was my number one band until Jinjer came along into my metal world.. Floor is really versatile but her growls doesn't meet Tatiana's.. Tatiana doesn't have the classical voice Floor has.. To me.. if ever these two ladies have to be in the same Gig that would be the best dream ever.. no doubt.. Really really talented both of them

@@nok22m I agree. The growls are what kept me from being a bigger fan of After Forever and Epica. When used sparingly they can add an element of roughness that sounds cool, but, for me, it only works when combined with another vocal type. On it's own it's mostly noise.

The original plan for the album that Song Of Myself is on was to make a music video for each song, but they decided to make a full album and then make a movie incorporating most of the scores plus a few songs with vocals, into, essentially, a Nightwish musical. The acting is dodgy in parts, but it looks gorgeous and has some decent bits hitting the feels.

They do whole concerts that are just insane from start to finish... 2 hours of epic goosebump inducing emotional roller coasters. MAGIC!!! You need to check out more Nightwish. Fantastic band with a fantastic audience. Recorded at Europe’s biggest metal festival. It takes place for 30 years now, in the small German village Wacken. German fans are the best! 🤘 keep on rocking world!
Floor Jensen amazes me more than any other. She goes from operatic to rock/pop vocals in the same song or from a song to another easily. And for Floor to do those low notes so perfectly for a soprano is amazing. She has power, pitch perfection, emotion all wrapped together in her voice. Plus having great stage presence and beauty (am I the only one who think Floor Jensen looks like Xena) ?
You are right with Floor, she have a gift and that is live song thru...So fare that I know, she example do not have "Big plan" for stage choreography, she just dance and sings with her feelings...And that is so nice to see and hear. What comes to Marco and his sinking skill, he is "The man" on stage and he is great when singing with Floor. Sometimes Marco starts part of the song and then Floor takes over...So Marco is like catapult for Floor and when he shoots Floor, audience get floorgasm hits from this human weapon!
