    What’s the torque nm to tighten the shift lever? I’m going to adjust my shift lever but don’t know what exact torque nm to tighten it up. Thanks

      @GettingthruLife  11 місяців тому +1

      Torque spec is tight but not too tight. All joking aside, on the smaller bolts 8mm and 10mm general torque is: bolts with a 6mm Thread Diameter: 17-20Nm. For bolts with a 8mm Thread Diameter: 22Nm. For bolts with a 10mm Thread Diameter: 25Nm.

    My foot lever is making contact with the quickshifter I don't know what to do now

    • @GettingthruLife
      @GettingthruLife  25 днів тому

      @austin0223 most likely your foot shift lever has been bent inwards. You can take it off the bike, the shift lever, put in a vise and pull the tip/front portion of shifter back outwards. Or you can buy a new foot shift lever.
      Note. I bought my bike pre-owned with just under 1000 miles. Looks like the first owner had a slow speed maneuver mishap and the bike tipped over at one point or while it was sitting still. (The slow speed manuverability of this style of bike is not great) My foot shifter is bent inward a little too but not enough to rub on the quickshifter. It's close but not touching.
      I noticed this fact only when installing my quickshifter. I think i remember bending my lever out just a bit too. There was some concrete scratch/scuff marks on the metal portion of the actual tip of the shifter pad where the rubber is. This is how I know it can happen.

      @GettingthruLife I ended up having to install the Shifter on the inside on the front part instead of the outside side for now and then when I go in to have it activated I'll have to see if they have any new ones I can buy or to atleast compare with mine.

      @GettingthruLife well I bent it back as much as I could and was able to get the quickshifter on the correct way, but it's still slightly scraping the quickshifter. It seems good enough to get me there, though, and then I'll have to get a new lever while I'm there getting it activated

    If possible could you explain more about the flyscreen, as it looks pretty good, and I’m thinking of getting myself one, but I can’t seem to find any videos explaining how to install it

    • @GettingthruLife
      @GettingthruLife  Рік тому

      My 821 came with it installed by i assume my bike previous owner. Knowing ducati owners he likely had Ducati install the windscreen because Ducati. As far as I was aware, in 2020 the Stealth version of the 821 came from the factory with the small windscreen installed. The red bikes did not.
      I just a few days ago got the itch to take the "flyscreen" off and feel/experience the difference. The look and see how much wind protection it provided. From having this bike and taking it off, I can better explain so of process.
      Here's what I don't know for sure. Their might be the need to buy this mounting bracket but highly likely it comes with the windscreen. It's a 3-4mm thick but thin metal bracket that installs/integrates into the TFT instrument display. The windscreen portion then mounts with 4 small bolts & nuts. The deal is, this ducati specific bracket and windscreen looks like the instrument TFT display has to be taken apart so the mounting bracket can be affixed to it, sandwiched into it. Sounds odd but by this design it look very factory and like it was meant to be there. The Italians are like that so makes sense.
      Once the mounting bracket is installed, then it's not to difficult to mount the painted/clear windscreen portion but getting a tool to tighten down the bolts/nuts takes a liitle finessing. I will mention also that to get to the bolt heads to tighten down or remove and not scratch up/tarnish the windshield's finish you need/can benefit from 1/4 sized socket tools or a long hex wrenches that offer the slightly rounded end that allows them to be used at slight angles.
      I know my explanation makes this sound off putting to get this accessory or installed but from my time taking it off this is what I saw and learned.
      I will have to try and do some research to see if this part has and good instructions that are available online and see if the 821/1200 windscreen product shows a pictures of the included mounting hardware.
      Sorry/apologize for my lengthy response but I'm a detailed kind of person that usually has a lot to say.

      I get a few comments how I l
      Ike it and do I feel it's worth it. I say yes, a great little device, worth it. Just got to be aware some models need the DQS activated in ecu and this could cost extra.

    Hi, i'm french rider, I have the same ducati and I would like to install the same shifter as you. The only electronic installation that needs to be done is to connect the shifter to the electrical connection under the horn? Can you send me the site or link to buy this shifter ? Pretty nice video and explanations, thanks.

    Does the QS actually autoblip while down shifting?

    • @GettingthruLife
      @GettingthruLife  7 днів тому +1

      This one I got serves as a quickshifter, clutchless upshifts and the clutch-less downshifter. Works best when upshifting while hard into the throttle though you don't have to be but really works well and smoothly under near full throttle shifts. Downshifting is done when off throttle or nearly off throttle, restricted, and it requires a pretty firm and deliberate mash down on the foot shift lever. This device really allows you to seamlessly haul ass through the gears cutting down on E.T. --- 0mph - 100mph plus. And the clutchless shifts sounds pretty nice too.

      @@usart2008 An auto blipper means clutchless downshift but the ecu doesn't allow the clutchless downshift when you are still on the throttle to a degree. The bike's ecu does up rev rpm to rev match automatically. It's a quickshifter up and an auto blipper down.

    • @usart2008
      @usart2008 6 днів тому

      @@GettingthruLife oh I see. It does rev match. That’s great to know. It would make sense to not allow downshift while still on the gas. It’s not something you do anyway. I noticed that you installed the sensor towards the front of the bike. If you flipped it 180 deg, it would face toward the back. Is there a recommendation from Ducati?

    • @GettingthruLife

      @@usart2008 How I installed it, the way it was positioned, this was the advised way per the instructions. Seems like too, there are maybe two types of these devices so do research and make sure you get the right one. Also, now that ducati has the newer 937, seems like getting accurate info for the 2017-2020 monster parts has gotten clouded. To me seems harder to get pervious year modle parts like for the 2020. When I bought this DQS at my very knowledgeable ducati dealership, they had so confusion tracking down part number and then didn't mention that I would have to have their service department activate the DQS in my monster's ecu. A servive visit like this could cost upwards of 125.00 to 200.00. My ducati I worked there for a year so they cut me a break and did my install for free along side the rear break hose/heat shield recall.
