Ducati Monster 821 | Ducabike Clear Clutch Cover and Hydraulic Clutch Conversion

  • Опубліковано 17 чер 2016
  • This is a guide for installing Ducabike clear clutch cover which requires hydraulic clutch conversion. The guide is for all necessary steps but I expect you to look at included service manual and Ducabike instructions for torque values etc. This will only help you understand how too look at the manual. It is a great resource.
    Please note that Ducabike recommends this be installed by professional mechanics.
    NOTE: I made a mistake in text at 8:20 where I stated that you don't need to use 8mm ball in pressure plate. YOU DO! I've made annotation correction but in case you don't have annotations turned on, FYI.

    I don't even have a Ducati and watched your video from start to finish, top 10 best "how to videos" ever!

    I've watched this so many times because of the background music and now youtube recommended me this again. Now I'm a bit of a mechanic myself and I finally understand what this guy's doing. I don't own a monster but the video is so extremely well made that I now have a general idea on how to change the clutch pads or change the cover

      Justin Galligan also didnt use cross pattern to secure things...

    • @YeetxBoi
      @YeetxBoi 7 років тому +2

      he did use cross pattern, for tightening and he did use proper torque im sure, if you look he skips the finishing bit of tightening and probebly doesnt show torque spec because everyones got different torque specs, depending on make and model. Also read the description...

      putting a huge bead of sealant on his cover will be the end to his clutch . he should have put a thin layer on it with a putty knife . and caused no squish . i like seeing backyard mechanics .

    Fantastic work with the footage, explains things very clear, at least it shows that if you put some elbow grease and some passion a ducati wont be that expensive to maintain, maybe its only a myth. I wish someday we will see a video of how to do the valve adjustment. Well done again with the video and all the effort you put in it.

      Thanks for the detailed video. It's unfortunate so much more needs to be done to get this cover installed. Did you find it to be a pretty easy task? How does the clutch feel vs the cable to you? I'm hoping to do this to my 2021 821.

    Great Video, excellent workflow! I have an Hypermotard 821 and previously owned two Hyper 1100 (both stolen!!!).
    Never understood why Ducati decided to go the cheap way with the 821 engines and clutch cables instead of hydraulic ones.
    Seriously thinking to do the mod. Looking at your video looks like is doable by someone with good mechanical skills like me. I am missing the jaw press for the OEM bearing and pin part though...All the best !

    • @HoldFastFilms
      @HoldFastFilms  7 років тому

      Damn dude, both stollen? That sucks :/
      Yeah, this is not hard to do at all. There are a lot of steps but you should be able to do this in an afternoon. Of course it took me couple of days because of filming and it being insanely hot outside but I put in about an hour of actual work.

    • @HoldFastFilms

      It's been a while so I don't exactly remember but I think it had to do with the fact that the next piece is torqued quite high and in turn torques the other bolt too. Instructions should state what to do.
