In my openion its the smartest phone ever i used its camera quality is so impresive and it has a very fast and smooth sensor

I just brought this phone yesterday with a MDR-ZX310AP headphones and the sound quality is just awesome! And I already rooted it install this rom [ROM][4.4.4] Enfrier Z2 and it became even better!
This phone is worth it!

This phone is great.good looking,works with no lag the only problem really is the call quality.i have used it for a week and the sound when youre making calls is all rumbled and i xan hear my voice echo.But its a good phone
I still got mine and still kicking ass. The main problems are the storage and battery life. Though I bought Xperia M5 as an upgrade, I guess I got hooked up with the M series.
I have rooted sony xperia m it's my dream phone..there is no complaints....

Very good review. Unlike other reviews, this one actually lets us know how good the phone is when used as a phone.
I brought it 3 years ago. I still have it. Hate the storage.
The images might look a little iffy here but if you think about how the picture and videos get uploaded from the phone, it does make you think about it. Plus, my friend has this phone and it takes amazing pictures, especially outdoors, but it's your opinion.
I really love this phone! I bought it in black color. I love the metal finish on the sides, reminds me of the z2.I am definitely sticking with Sony phones for quality and the UI after moving from Samsung's plastic, laggy and unreliable phones. The only downsides are the the screen, the front facing 1mp camera (which i hate) and the feature which doesn't allow u to move apps to SD card. If u want a better phone, search on higher priced models.
in some shops if you buy the white or black it will come free with the purple case which you can fit yourself
This is an excellent phone for the money.
Not a bad phone this review was bad it's how this user only had it for maybe one day and judge it. I must add this phone is rated 9 out of 10 for me . Windows phone and I phone do lack lot of apps that you could get on Iphone and windows phone but microsoft and apple will not accept.
I have this phone and i found the typing annoying aswell. However there is a neat swipe function which guesses the word you want to type for you. All you need to do is swipe across all the significant letters and it gets the word right 95% of the time

Great review, thank you. I was on the look out for a new budget smart phone and I narrowed it down to two: The Xperia M or the Lumia 520. I decided on the Sony simply because it has a flash & overall it looks better.
Just bought this. Very quick, but I could have got a Motorola razr I for the same price. One other thing to. When you have white text on a black background, the text fades right out when scrolling, and pictures fade to in the same fashion.
Owned Xperia m on last week white One, really fast and funky with its chipset and RAM but it lacks internal memory to install large sized apps and games
Look I know you are stuck with apps on internal storage but only only if you update it, my advice is download all your apps and move them to the SD card then update the phone
It's a fairly good android smartphone to have. I have one but the battery life is horrible for heavy using and there's the storage problem too. Other than that it's a decent smartphone.
Looks like my mom will be getting my old phone and my little brother will be getting my iPod Touch 4 since I'll have an all in one device. Yes, I still have a Blackberry with the physical keyboard on this day and age.
Mine is being delivered tomorrow... I have to wait until September 2nd to use it 100% because my SIM card is normal size and I bought a hole punch thing that converts it to microsim; only because it was cheaper than buying a microsim from my carrier and having to make a phone call to activate it.
Guess I'll spent that time learning the ins and outs and probably rooting it if need be.
just got a new phone, and this was the one I had before. It doesn't last long, the volume button fell out and the I couldn't take the case off of the phone unless I pulled the entire back of the phone (so I could see the battery and that) the front camera (selfie camera) basically doesn't work, and apps crash often. It's pretty bad but great for the price
:) I like it, but Xperia L and Z makes me feel soooo fall in love...

(Update) I've deleted many bloatware apps and fixed a couple things and the phone is great now. For gaming its a 7.5/10 because its storage is horrible but it runs smoothly. If your a music lover then you will like this also as music runs smooth. Call quality and video play back is fine as well, Many people have been comparing this to the Xperia L and see the L as superior but after using the L myself the l is horrible when it comes to multi touch.
for ITS price, this is the SLIMMEST 9.4mm(cmiiw), most LONG-LASTING battery life(50h GSMARENA battery life rating) Android 4.3 phone with a decent hardware... If you can suggest anything that tops this please do me a favor and reply... but I have the preference of 4.0 to 4.3 inch screen size so this one fits nicely
its 200USD w/o contract at my place. not overpriced if you look at the chipset
im using this sony xperia M mo-than 5 years it is very good Mobil really amazing Mobil , so i have Samsung j5 it is stoop-it Mobil and it is yet only 1year and 7 month it is all awes strutting,

No phone is perfect, you must sacrifice some things to enjoy some, I've been using the phone for about 2 weeks now, my only problem with it is typing, the buttons as small and I have large fingers..
Buying this phone this week or monday ! time to change carriers since 10 dollars cant even get me a local call !!! hmm the only thing that worries me is the call quality though .

For 720p videos, it's perfect. There's no problem when I playing a 720p video with built-in player. But other user says there will be some little lag when playing 1080p videos. I never try it yet.
It's a good phone, but never used it as a phone. It's better to put a custom ROM on it now (with or without gapps), installed Lineage OS 14.1 on it with without gapps and it's like a new phone, have the latest Brave and Opera, couldn't on the stock rom, think Chrome was from 2015 (last update), Lineage os is much better and built in features like format as internel the sd card that the stock didn't have, has the latest browsers so feel safer using it. The only thing is the icons sort of like installing Manjaro, you always have to change the icons to something better.

Xperia L would be a better buy although do not expect 1080p for entry-level devices

I'm just saying that even IF you don't like it, it's still replaceable, also, since you have the phone, I must ask, were they right about the call quality?
This has some annoying let downs. Why do I have to go into my settings every now and then to turn up my message alert and ringtones? It just decides to turn them down for no reason.
Excellent review, very informative. Thank you. One thing - I've had serious issues with every samsung phone I've ever owned (and many other Samsung products), and I am very dubious of any Samsung endorsement. It's Sony or Apple for me from now on.
I relay appreciate Sony experia M mobile all application are very simple and friendly especially the camera resolution is best a phone for the new generation

any phone that has sound problems in calls.... it's by definitiona crappy phone... maybe a cool mp3 player, maybe a cool portable gamestation... but a phone is still a phone... the voice sound has to be good =(

Ah help me I'm stuck between Galaxy Ace 3 3G and xperia m. Wich one should I get? I realy confuse, all the spek is the same and the price is not that different. I heard the xperia m camera is realy bad, but I also heard the ace 3 is laggy. Meanwhile I like the XM looks better, but I'm having a doubt about sony XM because of some review :(

do NOT buy this phone.
Once you installed their official latest update, you are stuck at using the internal storage for applications installation.
2GB is nothing much, and App2Sd won't work on this phone. You gonna run out of storage space soon. This is exactly what happening to me.
Unless you are willing to root it and void the warranty.
As mentioned, you'd have to root it, and go back to an earlier version of Android. 4.3 also makes reverse tethering much more difficult. You're better off keeping the older version of Android. Just because it's newer, doesn't mean it's better.
it's so much trouble just to install apps on sd card, so in short, this phone is not worth it.
so you say this phone is bad because of space? i mean shall i get the xperia M or the LG optimus L7 ( both are free so i have to chose the better one ) the xperia has a better score overall -.- help ?

I have tried it! Call quality is excellent! Nowadays all phones reviewed by phonearena have bad call quality! Even galaxy core had bad quality too! I have trotted both! They have nice call quality!

It's beautiful phone, but tft screen is so poor under the sunlight. Better go for ips screen like in lumia 525 and moto g.

Thanks victor for the review..yes the call qaulity, on-screen keyboard are disappointing and the main biggest disappointment is that since sony added its own, totally unnecessary UI, it messed up with the storage, as we cannot move apps ( downloaded NOT in built) to the SD card...this was a huge disappointment for me...I am going with Galaxy Core or lumia 520 or micromax a116 HD ( an Indian phone company which features a 1.2 gigs, quad-core processor)

The UI is pretty much not a major overhaul of stock android. The speed of the phone will be fine.

With buid quality and design, sony is better with the xperia line. With features, samsung is better with the galaxy line.
