the original sorento like this one was a very underated suv. high build quality and value. the top luxury package model is plush! every gizmo and gadget of the times for half the price of a lexus rx350. mine is a 2003 and still going strong at 160k. only problems were with the 3.5 mitshitbishi sourced motor. rest of suv is outstanding.

If it goes well they seem to have very strong transmissions. Saw an 06 which I believe is the 5 speed tiptronic auto. Couldn't believe the tyre smoking they were doing in the 2wd (rear wheel drive) automatic.

The inertia fuel pump cut-off switch should be located under the hood on or near the passenger side inner fender. If you think the switch might have tripped, push down in the center of the rubber that waterproofs the switch

Question: Who buys these parts? Are they private individuals that just want to fix their personal cars? I know here in Arkansas, it's against the law to repair and drive cars that have been totaled by the insurance company. BUT, if you're a private individual you can repair and drive them, but you have to tell people, if you sell it, that it was previously wrecked and totaled and has been repaired.
3.8 is the better motor. the 3.5 is a pos. last ones of this style had a 3.3 motor with early timming chain failure. secret hidden drawer under passenger seat

I have had 2 first gen Sorentos. Love em. Solid, full frame, true 4x4 trucks.
The one I have now up in Canada I named Snow Beast for obvious reasons.
Had a 2015 Kia Sorento just traded in for 2019 Ford escapethere good running cars but in FL Sorento have problem catching on fire

Check for the fuel cut off switch in the trunk. Usually when a car it hit hard the emergency switch will activate and stop pumping fuel to the engine.
That thing sounds pretty good even for a bad exhaust leak.
