My opinion , getting those returns , and you have someone else crushing, keep cost low. OR, I would scale up maybe, to a hammer drill , to get at more material and upgrade your living crusher to a mechanical rock crusher. Multi thousand dollar potential if you worked all day every day for a week. Again, my opinion . Love the vids. very educational .

Oh great descriptions of that material interesting video thank you. I like the way different colors provide clues. We've got a lot of that what the old 49ers called cemented Gravel. Here in California. Did volcanoes blow a lot of those gravels up in the air in the pliocene era?
I really like it when you explain what you are looking for, why and the difference in what appears to be the same rocks to most people.
I’ll answer your question with a question. Would those 2 pan be cherry picked so have about as good as the deposit will have or did you try and get an average feel for the deposit?
You’d also need to weigh the gold you recovered. Say you got 0.09 grams total (making a huge guess here, but it’s little chunks not flakes). You actually might have got more gold if you had the ability to powderize all of it, so I like that your sample has some room for improvement (not overselling what’s there).
Uhhhhh... lol Sunday morning brain teaser... So roughly 36 five gallon pails per ton. I put 10 shovels of gravel per pail (pretty much full). A super sluice easily handles a big shovel full. So 360 shovels per ton? 0.09/2 = 0.045 per pan. 360 x 0.045 = 16.2g per ton? 1/2 oz? Does that math work out? Lol I always like trying to figure out the ounce per ton. It’s hard to visualize based on a pan.
So to answer the question, it’s definitely an interesting deposit. Something that might be worth it to a small scale miner. Assuming my math checks out. Of course it depends what the gold you recovered actually weighs and I’d imagine you do a lot more samples for accuracy.
If I’m way off, I’ll delete this. Lol
Not way off we have only tested a few areas. All there where between 20 and 45g/ton. If where where to get the material finer we would definitely release more fine gold. Would be worth it for small scale with no equipment onsite because of the location being fairly public. You would definitely have troubles with people helping themselves.

I'm heading out now to check out a spot. This new spot is slate/shist with limestone intrusion. I found pyrite there and some ultra mafik rocks. I also seen what looked like Malachite or olivine Malachite or Olivine. I should had took that piece so I could looked at it better. I been mapping for a few years. I'm hoping this new spot is worthy! It's slim Pickens in my neck of the woods. Great Video!🏆🏆🏆

I was Hunting Gray Squirrel's up on the Merced River in Mariposa CA. Around about a posted Gold Mine. I gave a chuckle and thought to myself I'LL trade all the gold in
That mine . For a couple of Squirrels .
No sooner did I Think it. Then A Gold Lazer Shown up from the ground to my eye .
I was temporarily blinded which made me discharged that Shot Gun That knocked over a wire that fell on the mine and burn the whole mine down .
No . That's a little Artistic license . While in fact I did find a piece of quartz with a speck of gold in it . I didn't get any squirrel's . For all you Tin Pans out there . All the Gold In California is in the River's Thay are put there by US DF&G .
Believe Me. Trout are much taster then Gray Squirrel. Good Hunting All .

This was excellent! Having always been interested in geology, but being very new to looking for gold, there is something to learn from pretty much every one of your videos. There is very little culture for prospecting here in Norway, so information like what you guys are providing is valuable. We actually found (tiny) gold on our first try with proper pans. Thank you!
There’s lots of good channels like this one or ask jeff Williams that cover tons of stuff. I’d imagine Norway is quite different. There was a show of Americans looking for g me and found rubies in Greenland. That was cool and informative.

Easy enough to crush. Maybe a small "roller-type" mill, then highbanker to separate?
Yes it's fairly brittle and wouldn't take a lot to crush the matrix material. Trouble is location of the deposit....its fairly public.
Can you crush and separate off site? Maybe bring a bobcat and load a trailer or two then bring the tailings back?
Might try a little well water that has minerals in it ,found at my place that my well water makes mud from sediment that is conglomerates ??? Asked teacher at collage who is a geologist he said most all marine water is loaded and will make slides where you would think its solid !
Can you recommend a book on the geology of gold that has lots of color photos of different types of rocks, the meaning of them for gold geology? Also, is the geology for finding gold nuggets different than fine gold? Thanks

Probably, it's not in the best area so wed have to do a ton of surveys, have huge reclamation bond, and lots of consults with public, All of which cost more money than we can afford right now. We would be better to sell it to a bigger company who's publicly funded.
I have a yellow colored lock which I found in the garden what could it be?
In our village , 3 types of rocks are
1. Red rocks
2. Black rocks
3. White rocks
But we don't how to identify minerals from there

It seems like the yellow sand you've washed off questioning you as it sits at the bottom of the creek. Shouldn't that sand contain any immature gold?

Look for dirty, nasty, yellowish red rusty looking rock that is crumbling. Not sure what kind of rocks are in Iowa. Use USGS maps to see if there was gold mining somewhere is your best bet. Then check the description for what rock type was hosting the gold and try to learn to identify it.
Are you exploring for sulfides or for gold? Your focus seems to be more on sulfides. Are massive sulphide deposits nearby?

Wherever there is conglomerate iron oxide, would there be some gold?
Is there a good amount of gold in this type of rock?
how about crushing the larger sulfide rocks that rests on top of the classifier pan to see what gold lurks within ?
Any of the gold is in the matrix of sand, mineral, the larger rounder rocks are mineralized but with iron, silver and low values of gold.
They call it oxidation, it’s rust. Are people afraid of pointing out that rust occurs in straight lines in/on rocks because of the implication? Like if you point out that it’s rust, you’ll have to realize someone put it there
Would roasting this kind of material first give you more gold?
if you treat your discarded sulfides, as if you're only looking for silver, you will get the same amount of gold.
Is there a way to tell if a piece is conglomerate or concrete?
Obviously if the stuff is a huge boulder on the slope of a hill or if the hillside is in the middle of nowhere - it's conglomerate. But what about cobble sized pieces found in a creek, a creek that in various places has bridges.

Concrete ages in water rapidly. It's longest lifespan was 100yrs. Age estimate of bridges near location. Or stay in at the holiday Inn like I did last night
How much gold have you found in all searchings? Just curious.
Placer gold, just from prospecting? If your talking deposits we have found we have found a lot of "hardrock" deposits worth way more than placer.
Placer gold gotta be creeping on hundred ounces I would say between us we have actually pulled out of the ground.
Is breccia and clasts the same thing?
No. A clast is the parts inside the matrix breccia is the clast and matrix together.
What is the #1 thing to look for that's a good indicator for gold?
Gold more often than not runs with iron rather than a lone element, look for oxidized outcrops/rock.

No it was a purchase we made about 7 years ago, which we found in our shop decently, I think it was a Amazon or ebay purchase...

Panning micron gold like you're doing, you just lost most of it.The micron gold is now down stream.
All this geology and prospecting is very interesting but do you ever do any actual mining?
On occasion, to mine in BC even a small amount is expensive with consulting, permits, equipment unless you can have a bigger mine small scale extraction by hand is the most cost effective, we only do this on occasion as we are an exploration stage company we make way more optioning or selling properties to bigger companies and juniors.
