how cold did it get. I have a Mexican fan here in Canada. I prefer the look of it over the California one, but we definitely have to do a lot of winterization as we expected.

Sure it is not a Filibusta. I know pure Washies are kinda rare. What characteristics do you see in it to believe it is Filifera?
Personally I think it is Filibusta leaning slightly more towards the Robusta side than Filifera. I might be wrong though.

I have two specimens in my garden. I got them on sale at Home Depot about 15 years ago. I live in Houston and they have survived several freezes now some of the freezes have been hard and lasted longer than a day. My question is my plants don't have any of the spines on the frond trunks at all. When i got them they were about 4 feet tall they are now about 25 feet and the trunks are a nice size and uniform all the way up. I'm a little worried because one of them has mostly brownish leaves a few green but it just is not looking as healthy as the other palm. I know you've said they are hardy. Should I worry? I'd hate to lose it because it would make my garden look very un even with the other palm being so tall. Any suggestions and do you know what type these are since they don't have the spines?
