  • Available for a while overseas, you can now get the SW-MOTECH TRAX ADVENTURE touring pannier from Twisted Throttle in the U.S.
These panniers are reinforced with plastic corners to ensure those dings don't affect the structural stability of the design. And those cool looking 'x' designs on the side? They're not just for show. They actually increase the structural stability of the rectangular design, helping you avoid flattened boxes.

The TRAX ADVENTURE panniers are made for adventure. They'll take a beating and keep on going for you. One key is all you need to lock each lid as well as remove the boxes from your bike. No more having to get out your tools if you want a quick change.
Coming in 37L and 45L sizes, I've found the smaller of the two to be a perfect fit for me. At 11.24 pounds each they also won't slow me down with extra weight.

SW-MOTECH also makes a number of great accessories to use along with your luggage. From tables to lid nets and pockets you'll be able to accessorize to get the perfect fit for your needs.

Thank you for taking the time to reply Justin, I thought that was the case, hopefully there is a locking device SW does. Thanks again, it’s cold here in England

Thanks for the info mate, just ordered a KTM Adventure 1090R ...I am using Hepco&Becker panniers on my good old Africa Twin for the last sixteen years...Time for something new...These panniers look great...And a very practical system too! They are very close to the Touratech zega pro2 set...Very nice stuff too but including inner bags 1200€ here in Belgium...I believe this system (TRAX) is nicer to my wallet, lol...
Good explenation, thanks very much! Cheers, Chris...

Thank you - your review is the most thorough one on this system.
Do you think the racks are as tough and robust as other designs like the Touratech 18mm racks? I ask because it's such a different design, and they use oval/flat steel around the perimeter of where the pannier fixes.

I haven't tested the Touratech racks, Ronan, so I'm not quite sure how they stack up.

Do the panniers come keyed the same when you buy the set, or do you have to put different locks on anyway? Great review!

Hi Justin, I'm thinking to buy the SW-motech suitcases. Could you tell me the width overall. Are they mounted on a bmw f 800 gs standard?

Good review. I am looking at the same set up, but going onto a GS R1200. Tell me, is it possible to undo the rack with the boxes attached ? The reason I ask as the rack is quick release is it possible for some scum bag to undo the fasteners on the rack system and take it with the cases attached ? I would be interested to know.

I just checked the bike to verify and it is possible for someone to remove 3 of the 4 quick connects with a screw driver if you leave it in a parking lot. The 4th would be harder to reach but still fairly easy to get to I think.

Hey Justin, are these trax adv panniers waterproof because I hear different opinions.. (dust and moisture proof)..

Yes, they start out completely waterproof. Where that breaks down is when you start dropping your bike on them like I have. They'll eventually get bent out of shape and the lid might not fit completely tight. As many times as I've dropped my bike on them though, while they might not be completely waterproof if I took them under water (and why in the world would I do that?), I still have no issues riding in heavy rain. All of my gear is still dry.
