Look a solid bit of kit👍. I have the Givi trekker outback top box and kappa k venture panniers (37L) with the quick release givi pannier rack. Very similar in many ways and were just what I had from my last bike. I see you also have the akrapovic exhaust like mine ✌🇬🇧
Way to big, for me, meeting bikes with so big cases is a safeti issue,on europeian roads, if i needed so mutch luggage, for a holiday in my contry,i had taken my car - Have had side cases on my 700 Transalp ,+ top box,and it vas not fun, today ,have just come home from a long trip to Italia, from Norway ,on my new 750 gs ,no side boxes , just top case,an a pack roll . Weight matters
Cases look very good but I’m less impressed with the black carrier system, it looks like an old soviet jeep frame or some thing. The original BMW frame looks a lot better to my mind.
Hi and thanks for watching The frames can serve more functionality as well Like a tool case inside or now there is an auxiliary fuel tank that can fit Ride safe
They are big. But made of lightweight aluminum. Key is a good balance of goods on both sides. In future videos I’ll show what we take for short and long journeys in those cases. Thanks for asking.
Hi and thanks for watching In weight I’m not sure for top case. I carry things like spare gloves, some tools, rain gear, straps. Things that I access more often. Ride safe. Think minimalist and practice reducing things you don’t need.
@@OurGSJourney I use it for my clothes, don’t have panniers yet.. so just wanted to know kuch can it really handle without any issue.. I ride a tiger explorer and i didn’t want any wobbling issue at higher speeds
People have different experiences with different products. My experience with SW-MOTECH TRAX ADV aluminum cases is NOT good. They are absolutely NOT suitable for any kind of off road riding where a fall is anticipated. Even a "driveway fall" will bend these flimsy and weak cases and make them permanently water permeable. Please, do not ask me how I know, LOL. Save your money and look elsewhere.
It’s mounted on the trunk mount by SW Motech. However I’m thinking you’re asking about in perspective to me. Between camera angle, tall bike and on centre stand. Perhaps looks so high. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
Great video! Thanks for sharing! How wider the bike is with this system compared to the original BMW vario cases? I like the vario cases because they have a very narrow profile when not extended. I know there are some other advantages for the aluminum cases compared to plastic.
Hi, thanks for watching. Out to out measurements of the aluminum cases are approximately 1050mm or 41.5" when I measured on my 850. Some people like the more naked look of their GS when the vario cases are removed. They are nice when expanded, and you only need one key. But, I find the side loaded vario cases make it hard to pack and when you open them, all falls out if you don't have an inner bag. A pro to having the alu cases, you can mount stuff to them and/or the brackets. Of course, there are always soft bags, those have pros and cons as well. Hope this helps, ride safe.
Thanks for the useful video. I can’t see any rubber bushes on the top case rack. Doesn’t that cause the top box to rattle when mounted on this plate? Thank you.
Hi and thanks for watching. I like your question - the locking latch keeps it in place very tightly. What I find that rattles is the contents inside the top case. Hope this helps. Ride safe.
SW-motech has options available. Check out their accessories. The loops on the top box will accommodate many brands and options. Thanks for your question.
Hi and thanks for watching. There are certainly pros and cons to all types of luggage sets. Best to research and make the decision that suits your needs.
Hi nice video, we are the direct manufacture for the motorcycle top box, including 25L/28L/36L/45L/55L/65L/80L and 100L. alluminum alloy , waterproof.
Hi
Thanks for watching
I like my kit for sure

Certainly many options out there. I had outfitted my last adventure bike with SW-Motech and continued it here on our bikes.
Nice video.
And if I were a drinking man I'd take a shot every time you said "what not". 😃
Thanks for watching and what not!!

Those look huge and heavy. Do they affect the balance and stability of the bike?

How much weight I can carry in the top case?

I ride a fair bit fast sometimes and don’t know it’s behind me
spoke to sw motech, they said 22lbs if you have the aluminium rack..

I prefer the Vario cases for the same reasons. Plus you can fit a large helmet in the left side case.
does a shoei helmet size M fits in the topcase ?
Hi and thanks for watching
I put a full size modular helmet, gloves , some tools and room to spare

They’re a nice looking unit but I opted for the Bumots. They’re thicker, beautifully finished and their customer service is aces.
Thanks for watching Robert. Absolutely there are so many brands and styles. Sometimes hard to choose with competing interests. Safe riding.
Where can I buy some outfits that I can use to strap a netting down to hold my sleep bag if I had a top box.

could you carry water inside the side cases? or would it leak out?
Interesting. Although I haven’t tried it (but now I might), one has to remember the weight. 38L of water weighs 38kg or 84lbs.
basically you can steal the cases by unlocking the racks 🤭
Hi and thanks for watching. There are certainly pros and cons to all types of luggage sets. Best to research and make the decision that suits your needs.
A lock system is vailable for the rack.
You can swap out the quick release nut with a lockable solution of some sort that SWM sells.
