    Thanks for including your experience with using the adapter. I've been eyeing these bags particularly because the adapter plate to make switching between hard and soft cases easy. I already have the Trax cases for touring or running errands in town. Being able to quickly clip on soft bags to hit up trails for a weekend of camping seems like these will be the right choice for me.

    Great kit..
    A carrying strap would make lugging the bag to the hotel room easier, especially if management puts her full kit allocation in! I usually carry everything to the room and it makes a difference to me.
    Safe, happy travels 👍

    One tip. Don't over-tighten the plastic catches on the mounting plate. It's easy to tear through the plastic housing that the nut sits in. The instruction say to use only 3nm torque but who has that small a torque wrench?

    I have the the SW-MOTECH Sysbags in the 15 and 30, and had high hopes for the WP. I got tired of waiting and waiting and waiting for their release and ended up going with Mosko Moto, and glad I did. Making the the mounting plates separate and the goofy molle panels on the outside (why!?) made me really happy that I went with a proper off road set up.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  Рік тому +1

      With separate mounting plates you can choose to use the ‘clip on clip off’ function with the SW-Motech racks, or fix to other racks using the straps, seems like a sensible option.

      @@mancavemoto I was really disappointed that the plates from my Sysbags couldn’t be reused, as they add a significant cost.

      @@mancavemoto What he meant is that it is a headscratching design decision to put the Molle on the outside of the bags. These are offroad oriented bags, already wide since they are mounted on a rack. I would much rather have some Molle on the front and back. Because now, if you attach some extra's to the Molle, the bag gets even wider. Not a good idea offroad. I would much rather have some Molle front and back to hang some extra's. I already emailed them about this, got some vague answer.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  Рік тому +1

      Good Question. So they offer more capacity and the ability to clip on and off, they are also lighter. I would say the Kriega OS is more robust maybe for back country riding, and theres the ability to fix other items from the range to them easier, plus they have the removeable whie liner.

    Hi. I’m running the Sys Bag (L) with the Steelcore cable. My question is for high exhaust ADVs like AT / GS 1250 etc, if you use the bags mounted with plate on SWM Evo Rack and lock it using Steelcore - the Steelcore would run pretty close to the exhaust. Any risk from damaging or burning the Steelcore cable in such a setup? I noticed that the SWM rack runs reasonably close to these exhausts. Thank you.

    Nice bags....but who in the hell thought molle panel on the outboard side was a good idea? What a stupid concept...first who would want to strap an accessory on the outside like that so that it can get snagged. Second; if you go down those molles are just going to catch and gather dirt and crud and eventually tear.

      Hi, both are good in different ways, the Kriega are rugged but heavier and slower to take off. The fact that the sysbags clip off easily is a real bonus. I’ve seen the sysbags used on a Transalp (check out my Munster vales videos) and they work well. Better than on the Africa Twin actually

    Very nice, comprehensive review. I’m deciding whether to go with these or a hard case for my BMW G650GS. The one issue I’m struggling with is protection for anything fragile - a camera, for example - in the event of a drop with a soft pannier. Maybe the answer would be to keep any small, fragile items in a tank bag or top case. I really like the look and versatility of these bags. Thanks!

    • @karthik0ms
      @karthik0ms Рік тому

      If this helps: I use a pair of water proof soft panniers from Givi, GRT709, have lasted couple of thousand kms, minus Givi’s finicky lock system. (Defn. SW Motech makes amazing stuff) plus a BMW vario top box hard case - it’s made of heavy heavy heavy fibre - on my 1200 GS. Have served perfect for month long trips. Aluminium might be lighter than the vario IMO.

    • @karthik0ms
      @karthik0ms Рік тому

      Adding to your point of dropping the soft pannier, it saved me on two accidents by taking the impact (than passing it). I put the bags back on with ROK straps, (they were torn and fixed later) and rode away. If I were on a hard case, the hits would have knocked me off the road. And made the boxed unusable thereafter. Soft bags saved me, twice. I have patted my back so many times of this right choice. This is in india, where there are no rules to be followed by the “other” side. Just my two cents to you dilemma.

      I still have the Kreiga and they are great bags. The OS are tough and I like the white lining, but they are more fiddly to put on and take off compared to the snap on of the SW-Motech. The Kriega are a little more compact too, but perhaps a touch heavier. Hope that helps

    Hi. I am considering to purchase a bag like yours, M size. Just a quick question: Are they also weather resistant ? I have been using the SW-Motech LC3 bags and they just cannot seem to last; the latest bag I have got only lasted barely more than 3 years. I am looking to change to something that can at least last 5-10 years or more, then i stumble upon this product.
