as someone that is looking to buy a 600 as a starter bike, this helped greatly. i know most say its stupid to do that but i would rather buy once and enjoy forever. this video eased my worry of gassing it too much and flipping the bike lol.. the newer bikes are definitely more forgiving and beginner friendly because of all the new tech for comfort of the rider. appreciate the video boss man!
seems like your thinking the same way as i did. buy the one you want so you dont have to worry anymore haha. 600 is more then enough power for any rider. glad to hear this video helped thanks for watching my dude🤙🏽
I was worried about getting a ZX-6R because someone told me you'd take off like a rocket just getting into the friction zone but that wasn't bad at all.
I've got a 2002 ZX6R 636 same green as your's lovely bikes,i couldn't imagine changing gear without using a Clutch 😮 i learned to ride a Motorbike in 1991 when i was 16 and it was on a KX250 it didn't end well lol
Very nice, congrats on your first bike. dont stress it bro, you'll do fine just take it easy and for sure practice these techniques just to feel it out. finding that clutch friction zone with a very small amount of throttle is key. Be safe and let me know how your first ride goes🤙🏾
great info brother !!!! i always tell every one to look up the MSF class in there area too. it never hurts enjoy the weekend and hope you get to do lotz of chasing
Great video for newbie ridders like myself. You broke down all the basics that a rider with zero knowledge would love to know, much appreciated. I own a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 636. I'm new to your channel, but do you have a video that talks about downshifting scenarios?
Im glad to hear that this video was helpful to you. funny that you mentioned The downshift scenarios, it was something i thought of as i watched the video after recording and wish i wouldve added/Explained. i actually dont have any videos explaining it, but if i can get a good day where its not so cold out i will make a video on it for you.
The new zx6r has customizable power gains which I think IS GREAT for new riders who want a long term investment. Having customizable power bands means as the rider progresses, he can adjust to his riding skills as he progresses. Unlike the gsxr600, your just gonna kill yourself from the get-go. You have no control over that powerband.
First bike I ever rode was a cbr 1000. 5 mins in i wiped out 😂 after that it was a Kawasaki 500r I rode that for a year then to a 2003 636. Rode that until I got rear ended and stayed off a bike for about 6 years. After that I got a 250 dual sport after a breakup to clear my head and get back into riding currently in a 2024 636 and loving life. Point is I wish I had started on a 250 because that Cbr was waaay to much for a newbie 😂
yeah a 1000 is way to much bike for a brand new rider but i will say with all this new technology abs/Traction control really makes these newer bikes much easier for a beginner that has discipline. this 636 is my first and only street bike and i already feel like ive outgrown it with only 1 1/2 years of riding experience. Glad to hear your enjoying the 2024 zx6r its a sweet looking bike💯🤙🏾 be safe out there🙏🏽
Cool informative lesson how to ride... A quick question though...did you change to stocked seat to an ergonomic seat? Appreciate the input 👌 Much blessings 🙌 Drive safely. 🏍
You think I could start on a 636, and just keep it on low power mode? I took my MSF course (only experience riding a bike), just wondering if this would be a bad idea. (I have only driven manual cars my entire life)
if youve already taken the msf course and understand how bikes work and you have manual transmission experience on cars.. You will 💯% do fine on a 600+.. its more of taking it easy as you stated you would start on low power.. i did the same thing and switched to full power after my 3rd ride.
Its going to be tuff at 5'3 the bike can be lowered but not much out of factory. The thing i see shorter people do that i ride with is always make sure when coming to a stop that they are in 1st gear. lean your body to one side of the bike (Preferably your stronger leg) and just 1 leg it.. tip toes i dont think will work at that height to be honest. hope this helps
I just passed my msf course the other day and I wanna get a g310r as my first bike then the zx6r but idk what’s your opinion. The msf course was pretty easy for me? What would you recommend
Ok so, if you passed the msf course and you absolutely understand how clutch and throttle work. i would say be like how i was and just shoot for the Zx6r. it has a low power mode that you can get used to before going full power. I just dont want to tell you to buy something that may be to powerful for you at the moment. have you ever ridden any other bike before msf course?
@@streetdreamz8056 I never have. It was my first time every riding a motorcycle. Im actually thinking of getting the zx6r and starting a little motovlog of my beginner pov 😂 but the insurance is through the roof since I’m 20.
The front brake is 70% Of the bikes stopping power while the rear brake is 30% As far as what you use first dosent really matter. depending on the situation you may have to use both at the same time.
yes i always down shift to 1st as im coming to a stop then lightly pull in the front brake and clutch. depending on how fast im coming into that stop i may use both front and rear brakes to stop. but be careful with the front brake as its very important not to pull to hard on corners. always try to let you motorcycle engine braking do most of the stopping for you as you downshift then lighly apply brake as needed. its something you get used to after riding a few months. hope this helps🤙🏾
As a beginner learn where you friction zone is so that you know, then you can use a very small amount of throttle to open as you get more of an understanding.
correct it does has a quick shifter. and you dont need to pull it in when shifting up. You do have to use clutch when you downshift though. hope this helps🤙🏽 i made a part 2 how to ride on shifting also

@@streetdreamz8056 appreciate that brodie. And I wish it was 2 days ago but I just got my bike haha.. I ride 4wheelers and dirt bikes but being on my ninja the counter steering is so diff like turning left is turning right on ur steeringing! It’s a diff balll game.. plz make a vid about it it
if you've never ridden any kind of bike. id start with something small maybe 250cc or even a small grom or something just to learn.. once you learn and understand how clutch and throttle work you can upgrade to anything higher. like a 636 or even a 1000cc

@@streetdreamz8056 Thanks for sharing. One more question. Is it mandatory to use high octane fuel? What happens when normal gasoline(87 octane) is used?
This bike is not similar to either of those bikes.. It has more power then 650 and less power then a 1000. Its in between both bikes. Yes the bikes can be lowered for your height at the dealer. No problem bro glad i could help out🙏🏽
Seeing you get it rolling slowly just like how I would if it was my first time on it made me so much more comfortable to start on a zx6r
