I have to say that installing the front windshield by yourself at first I thought not a good idea ! ! However you handled the windshield very well and very smoothly and very precisely. And I have seen two or three people not do it as precisely and carefully and smoothly as you. Absolutely awesome and amazing skills at work there. And also headliners are probably one of the most toughest upholstery jobs to do on most vehicles and especially the ones with bows and it looks amazing and Laura is amazing at the upholstery work. And you and her are quite a awesome team together a bit hilarious at times however that makes your videos much more fun. I am excited about seeing this project completed as it is looking quite awesome already.

@@Theoldironworkshopyou can get fancy using different colored post-it notes for different categories of work.. Example: Yellow for metal work, welding and rust repair. Blue for mechanical. Green for paint, trim (lipstick and jewelry) 😊
Great job on the windshield and those finish-brackets for the headliner. Some door/rear glass and new window fuzzies will make it really look like an actual car again...

I was going to say to hand sew the headliner in a loop to add a headliner hanger, but you would have to make one from scratch, in the end your solution was a good idea, it looks great.
Almost seems like you may need a Carport/Shade cover out over the Caddy to be a bit more comfortable to work out there. We have the same weather patterns down here in Tropical Tranquil Sunny Queensland in OZ. I just got some of those cheap shade sails from eBay & they make it bearable to been out there in 100 deg temps. Love ya work Mate & love your wife contributes a lot to the build too. Must say I'm pretty impressed, the way you overcome the irritating problems on the headliner and dealing with the Mrs even though she looked a little bit horny in the previous episode 😊, it takes a certain skill set and I take my hat off to you and your good lady. The headliner is stunning, a great colour choice. Any thoughts on the colour of the carpet, my thoughts would be a dark blackish red to give it that gothic undead feel but that would depend on the colour of the seats. Still a lot of work to do before the deadline but as you know happy wife happy life, pluss if you miss the deadline you could end up becoming the first customer of the stiff wagon 😅. Nice work! I would enjoy flashback photos when showing your progress on the car. For instance at the beginning of this video when you first showed the floor from the rear a quick pic insert of the same view when you first got the car with floor torn out would have been awesome.
You all are doing great on the interior and the whole build for that matter. You should go ahead and get this staple gun (BeA 71/16-421 Fine Wire 22-Gauge Stapler for 71 Series or Senco ) I use this on a daily and with 3/8" staples. Would have made all that stapling a breeze. Plus, a $25 paint gun to spray glue. Continue the Great work.
I definitely would love a glue gun. Unfortunately I don’t work fast enough to make good use of it. Most projects take days. I will definitely look up the staple gun. Definitely need to upgrade. Thanks

Here's an idea.....take some 1 inch or 3/4 inch rigid foam board insolation from , say Home Depot, trim it to fit the width and cut lines widthwise so it will contour to the curve of the front roof, Use that as a "structure to attach your headliner to it to follow the curved contour of the front roof. use spray glue like you did on the door panels. Where the sun visors attach, dont put the rigid foam insulation and attach the liner like you originally planned to the window slot. You just need a "structure" for the headliner tto attach to that follows the front roof curve.
Quarter inch ply wood in stead of aluminum you could have it under the head liner and use a comb of staples and glue and it would be thin enough to bend it to the roof shape
Alloy piece looks good. Maybe should have put foam then fabric. Think I’d build a over head storage CB radio. And put visors back up. Use 10 mm Square mirror glass on over head. Something like that anyways. Good job. Heat will drain you quick. 👍👍
I see that like me you only have only boring friends driving typical daily drivers! Yesterday I was brought home in a typical daily driver: A late Sxties Ferrari GTC/4. That car was way more fun than I expected! And much more comfortable. That was a first for me.

I remember when a German car magazine made a quiz: They would show pictures of the top of the A-pilar and the corner of the windshield and you could actually recognize every car make and model. I grew up beside a main road in Switzerland. My Grandpa asked me to tell all the car brands passing by. I was two at the time. I recognized each and every car. Number 19 came and Granddad said: You won't recognize this one. I did, it was a Panhard! We stopped by then. That was back in 1962 when you still saw a few Beauties with fins. I LOVE fins! Cars were not only better looking but much more fun. Lately I have been using my 57 Maicoletta that I brought to auction by now and my 63 Corvair. I love old cars!
To attach the headliner before the windshield.... you could shape some thin ABS MATERIAL to the front of the roof . Then glue the headliner. Or you could put something on the outside of the roof to protect it.. put fiberglass and resign on there to get the arch. Once it's dry cut to size and attach to inside of roof. Then glue the headlines. I have seen the fiberglass way and it works.
It's call sill plates, ankle bitters. congrats guy's on finally getting the head liner installed. windshield installed, looking good guy's. did u get to watch the movie wrong turn? 1-6 parts..

I find it helpful to use Post-it notes. One Post-It note for each task. Then I can rearrange the Post-it notes, reprioritize, etc. Nice work!

Carpet is going to be black. We just couldn’t find anything to match with the green. Still hoping for a house. But the market is not great currently.

Car looks great! I used to use dish soap on those rope in seals, but it gets a bit sticky. Try Simple Green, stays very slippery even on a warm day
