Cool ideas thanks I use them black and white pads grab really good to. On lubeing the clutch basket bearing I learned how to rebuild them with hair size bigger bearings and new lube and press it back together thanks for the info though
But I love my black tire pads, they do got metal in them, I need to go looking again, cause last year all I seen was those hard pads diff colored, I prefer soft or med rubber 👽👍
My favorite pads if you can find them are the light pink colored ones, not the orange. The main point I was trying to get across was to free float your clutch pads & you won't ever need a super clutch. That clutch is designed so the disc presses the pads against the case. If not free-floating you're not getting full contact of clutch pads.
@@JamesPiccone I hear you brother I'm just lazy and them black pads pop right in but the pink or orange ones that came with the phantom grab alright but like you said there free floating
@@mikemiller3303 Thanks bro💪Years ago when I first started I always used to keep the clutch pads that came installed. But unfortunately had two back-to-back clutch failures on brand-new motors. All from the stock pads that had metal wires in them and chewed up the the bearings in the clutch. Oh and as cheap as they are keep clutch assemblies on hand.
@@JamesPiccone yes sir I watched a video from DHL and he was showing how easy it was to rebuild them and instead of putting back in the 3mm bearings you removed replace them with 1/8 bearing just a hair larger makes a snuger fit
Oh, perhaps a skateboard wheel is running off one of those spring-loaded tensioners that attach to the motor. I definitely plan to upgrade to that someday, as far as the tensioner goes. Maybe because it's spring loaded and it takes care of the play in the chain, perhaps that's why you're able to get away without having chain guides on the Wheel, also because it's running right off the motor and not way back closer to the sprocket. I got an arc tensioner as well. I plan to put the arc tensioner one and a spring-loaded on another and just see which one is the best maybe a combo may be the best, who knows.
My friend I found a better clutch basket with sealed bearings 16 bucks Ebay called upgraded clutch didn't know if you new just a heads up ride safe brother
YOU MAY NOT NEED NEW PADS!!!! I've watch several of these videos of changing the clutch pads. In all the videos the pads seem stuck in the clutch pad gear. It seems to me if they're stuck in the gear, the spring loaded outer sheet metal disc is not going to be able to push the pads against the inner flywheel disc. This being the case, the only friction you're going to get is against the outter sheet metal disc and it's no wonder the clutch is slipping. I have not tried this but most likely you could remove the clutch pads, sand the edges so they fit in their recessed slots easily, button it up and it would run fine. There's a good chance they're not wore out but just stuck in the gear and can no longer be pushed against the inside flywheel. ; )
Haven't had to deal with the clutch just yet but for when I have too thank you for the tips! Also I see your using a skateboard wheel, how come your chain doesnt derail? I had to remove mine and temporary put the factory one back on until I can lathe a groove into the wheel to give it some chain guides as it would derail no matter how straight I had the chain to the motor. Speaking of chains, what do you think of that chain your running? I have been considering one of those chains. Great short. Thank you 🙏
It's not being used as a tensioner it replaces the plastic gimmicky wheel with something legit. But that particular chain tensioner came with a slightly smaller skateboard wheel.

Perfect timing bro! My pads are jammed in lol I guess I'll be sanding them down and lubricating the bearing in the morning. Thanks 👍
That line delivery was sick, never have I ever thought someone saying my name is James would scare me.

FREE FLOATING!!!!! You're absolutely correct!!!!
Eventually my clutch pads stays like that with few runs, I use the green ones really good ones.

415mx's are definitely a lot stronger & don't stretch but the trade-off is it's heavier and has more rotational weight.
How many cc engine does it have, can you give detailed information?
I have no clue
@@JamesPicconeHow much cc motorized bike

I'm interested in what carburetor your running
PE-17 NIBBI carburetor (17mm)
@@JamesPiccone what's the cc of your engine?
@@noahriedel801 I have no idea bro. One engine has a 49mm piston x 39-40mm stroke & the other has a 50mm piston x 39-40mm stroke if that helps.
@@JamesPiccone awesome. Thx.
There's no metal in them pads
How do I adjust the clutch
Just search it on UA-cam that would be a lot easier
Is this a bmx frame?
That's an affirmative, BMX cruiser Mongoose grudge.
Could this make your clutch not disengage fully?
Nope
I use MERC clutch. Yup, its brown made, 5 pads only. Say what now? This is a trap.
Cool bro, do you just collect motorized bicycle parts?
