Few things in life are as complicated as a carburetor.

Such a good video. Always been intimidated by my carb, but I got it off, taking my shot at cleaning it today. Might even take it apart fully - never would have tried, but you show everything so clearly.

Jeff please help me out man I’m lost . I have a 1978 Ford F-250 . Has a new fuel pump new fuel filter. New air filter and new carburetor on it . It’s starts up and idols good and it’ll drive . But then sometimes it’ll backfire or like hiccup on me and sometimes it’ll turn off when my foot is on the gas and it’ll have trouble taking fuel .

Put a timing light on it

Also, check for vacuum leaks with a tester or by spraying around your vacuum connections, could be your carb adjustment's off

Hey 👋🏻 Mr Jeff, once you put it all back together, how did you set it? (Idle) is it hard to do as I’m preparing to take it on🧐? I see some idle screws.

It's not hard, depending on how finicky your engine is. I have the same engine/carb as he does in this video, easy to get close enough. If you want it perfect, gotta take it to an old head mechanic or learn how to use a vacuum tester to check for leaks, which will mess with the idle and fuel mixtures - and make sure your timing is right on
