Joe seems like a pretty well-rounded guy, but beam weapons have taught me that he really struggles with drawing a straight line through a series of rectangles.
I've never been so invested in someone else's success in a video game before. Really glad you upload your streams. Literally never caught one live and don't go on twitch because their playback is terrible but I've watched far too many hours of your streams.
I forgot how intense FTL can get, in particular the late-game fights. The only two or three times I beat the boss I had a number of mantis on my ship that I used to board them and kill whatever crewmen I could kill, and probably did whatever damage I could to do their systems, too. Weakened the ship enough that I could finish it off.
Regarding the gap between FTL and Into the Breach (at the beginning of the stream): It actually took Subset Games a lot of time to get Into the Breach right. There's a cool post-mortem video they made about it on GDC's channel. One of the things that delayed it is that they kept on working on features to make the game more complex, but in the end realized simplicity was more important.
If you're ever reading this... Ion blast 3 is way, way worse than flak II. Against a 4-shield ship, you need 8 hits to take its shields down. Assuming he's got say 40% dodge, that'll take you 12*4 ~ 48 seconds. With the flak II? Most of the time, one shot with 21 seconds charge time is enough. With flak II, you can usually also get around drones; the large number of shots means it tends to hit and explode enemy defense drones. It can also handle 5-shield ships. Also, flak II can deal with anti-ion fields. But.. more importantly, flak II allows for alpha strike ship possibility, e.g. the 'I win' combo of Weapon preigniter + 2x flak + 2x beam. You can fire up to 16 power worth of weapons from the word go, obliterating anything in 5 seconds.
“Chat was helping me a bit” Not trying to be an asshole but it was borderline hand holding. I actually think you would’ve done better if you stopped asking chat so many questions and just paid attention and did your own research.

To be fair, though, he did get better.
Lacking that skill is the reason he became a UA-camr. Obviously no real job would have you with such a glaring weakness.
@@anenemystand5582 It's just his pair of perpendicular lines to bear.

Thank you, Egg.
No problem, Tim.
This stream is from February?! Joe, you should really add the actual streaming date to the video's description...
1:21:57 There's actually a ship based on this concept.

Joe should really try out the Multiverse overhaul mod, it’s pretty much FTL 2
It’s such a great mod. Incredible amount of content
“I’m going for a 2 and a half hour stream” *looks at video length and laughs*

Anyone else watch Noah Cardwell Jarvis and thought his look into God of War was Joes video?
Best solo world first kill I've ever seen. Next time we should teach you the sven maneuver. You'll really think pre-igniter is broken then...
