It turned out that the biggest threat to your survival in The Long Dark wasn't the cold, starvation, or wildlife. It was you all along :) Keep up the great series
I feel like that really can be true irl. The biggest threat to survival can be oneself.
This was G9 suffering, at near peak of dumb danger. I loved every second!
G9 is fighting off creatures big and small - from bears to wolves to parasites, all while angling to punch a moose. Through that all it's the steep inclines snapping the weak cankles that cracks me up the most.
The foreshadowing of the dead body holding the knife next to the wolf carcass was great. It really paved the way to the wolves attacks.
That improvised knife was cursed
honestly, I thought the last episode was the last of this series with that epic bear fight. Im glad to see its still going.

The flare gun is pretty powerful, and will kill even a bear (over time). I would recommend using that hatchet during a struggle with a wolf, as I believe it's more effective than the knife.
Definitely have found the wolves more dangerous than the bear. They do far more damage than the bear does it seems.
Oh and the bones in that cave indicates it’s a bear cave.. I got worried when you went to sleep 😂

Glock`s fought off so many wolves by hand that even Liam Neeson is like "Daaammnn!"
There's a rifle at the Carter Hydro Electric Dam if you make it there. I won't say where but if you're thorough you will find it. Should make some makeshift crampons too. Less chance to sprain something. There's no enemies inside the Dam any more, there used to be a wolf called Fluffy I think but it has been removed.
Damn, that was a ride. Finds a bear cave - Put the bedroll down and just sleep for a hour....
Hey brother... for what it's worth, bows are great weapons in this game. Not sure if you're gonna last that long, but snag those broken arrows and harvest the arrowheads. They're pretty hard to come by until you find a forge. Been watching the 7DTD stuff religiously for 3 years, and was always hoping you'd do TLD, so thanks for that!
Some things:
- Mushroom tea will help clear up the parasites.
- Also look out for more rose hips or birch bark to make pain killer tea.
- Old Man's Beard moss from the trees makes antiseptic bandages.
- If you fish supposedly it gives you oil you can use in your lamp (Probably when you harvest the fish.) it appears in your inventory as a blue can I know. Basically it makes Lanterns a perfect renewable source of light that wont go out in high winds.
- You can use a torch to light a fire, and it doesn't use up the torch, meaning if you fail you can try again with the same torch.
-If you throw down a torch before it fully goes out you can light another torch with it, thus saving the matches, So if you take several torches on a trip you can just chain them so you never are without light, and can start your next fire and make more torches.
The only good thing for today (being snowed in by a blizzard) is enjoying some Glock content! Let the shenanigans begin! 💜

@@texmex01 yeah, winter does give this series more meaning. It is 105 degrees where I am now. The blazing sun makes you think "A blizzard doesn't seem so bad right now."
Another glorious Glock shenanigans episode loved it. For a second I really thought a bear/wolf/parasites would get trumped and a slightly inclined sloped and a sprained ankle was going to take Glock out for good ROFL.
Sure would be a shame if Fluffy ended you in the dam when you thought you were safe.... Lol

If you think you will make it far enough pick up the broken arrows and break then down for the arrow heads. Also if you already have cups of cold coffee and tea all you have to do is put them down on the ground near a fire to warm them back up. Leaves the cooking spots open for cooking food and boiling water.
That fight with the bear in the last episode reminded me of Rowdy Roddy Piper in that movie "They Live" when he's fighting in the alley! Love that seen!!!
I can't get enough. It's so upsetting when your episodes end. This was hilarious! Two sprained wrists, sprained ankle, three wolf attacks, f**king epic!

Awesome series (as is always the case with Glock), and I normally leave tips out as finding most of the stuff out on your own I find to be part of the fun, but this is a tip/challenge... A moose can be killed by a flare gun. I was curious during one run and it took 5 or 6 (don't recall which) shots to the face from about 10ft away. it will run after shot, but then just chase it down and wait for it to charge again. Seriously f'd if you miss :)
Really loving the continuation of your variety series man. Your 7 days content is never bleak, but when were waiting for new 7DTD content, the variety really slaps for all of your dedicated fan base. Thank you for doing what you do :)

Wolves will go mad for raw meat, in my experience cooked meat doesn't stink until it goes gamey or worse, you can check if you're giving off a smell by the icon in the middle of the screen when you check the time of day. They'll come from miles away for raw meat, I always get it home as quick as possible, cook it and dump it in the snow.
This is why I like watching you...The day starts off well and then it takes a turn and everything goes wrong 😂 Good luck for tomorrow 👍😁
I love how noones said anything about the boss bear that is technically the strongest thing Edit: yep Glock there's a boss, that's the thing to kill in order to be TOP OF THE FOOD CHAIN
The flare gun is the most powerful weapon in the game. Moose won´t bleed out so needs a kill shot. Stand firm during charge and shoot in head last moment. Great series 👍
Yo Glock9! Since I've never commented before on anything, I just wanna say I always appreciate all the content you put out. If you hadn't guest starred in that 7Days Neebs series, I never would have known about you. You're one helluva a gamer brotha. That said, I wanna throw in a little tip for ya so you don't get hunted by wolves so aggressively like in this episode. So whenever you harvest meat, you'll wanna cook that shit up right away. Cooked meat doesn't leave nearly as much of a stink on you than raw meat does. Hope that helps! Much love G9!

Dude got fighting animation more times in minutes than ive gotten it in my 320+ hours of playtime, pure comedy lol
They should add a sasquatch that u can only incounter if you find its home. Then only kill with explosives and shotguns and rifles. The whole arsenal you need to take it out. But they need to make it hard to find it and keep up with it. Just something stronger then the bear.
Last episode and then the wolf attacts this episode. I was yelling "Not again," over and over. Too much fun. Prosper and live long 09.
Just to help, the hatchet is the best in a struggle...100% bleedout on a wolf
Tip: collect the shell casings to make more ammo and at that dead body before the bridge by the farm theres item there and the barn at the road in front of the farmhouse there is a loft
If the loot is static, there's a rifle in the Upper part of the dam near a green console (you need to go around the turbines and climb the stairs - it's at the end of the mezzanine to the left).
No, maps that have the gun icon just means it has a chance of one spawning there
Rabbits are notorious for having worms irl, Glock. Lol
Making a bow would be useful saplings will show on map if around your current position or when mapping like with large branches, the dual wolf atk in cave was 👍 though 😆

After you came out the cave you passed a birch or a maple.sapling...those are for bow and arrows...and also make 10 teas for intestinal parasites.

Once you get to the other side I believe there is a hunting cabin at one end of the tracks that has a rifle in it.
hey remember is the Father Glock series when an edited mining montage had Glock with a sprained arm n then it was gone n some ppl said he turned on god mode even though his health n stamina were both still low in both clips. n glock said sometime the buffs n debuffs just disappear in the darkness falls mod. n then to prove his point he spent the whole next episode with all 4 limbs hurt n just kept pushing through POI after POI n slaying zombies just to prove the point that he does give a fuck. that's this episode.
also the usual Glock 9 happened here, he eludes that he is a legend n the Game heard it n said "HOLD MY BEER N WATCH"
You went through hell during this episode, lol. But the dam is enormous and has a lot of great gear and resources inside.

@glock9 this was hilarious!! i don't think I've ever been attacked by so many wolves in one day. plus the 72 sprains. I honestly cant believe you didn't die like seriously. it was definitely the raw meat. cooked doesn't smell as much. You would have really had a good time in the older version cause they had a wolf (affectionately known in the community as fluffy) that crept around the inside of the dam but they got rid of him. I have so many pointers and suggestions for you but you seem to be having way too much fun and so am i just watching so i wont ruin it. But their are a lot of things you can be doing (or not doing) if you really want a season to last a while. but as always gg. Love and appreciate the great content. cant wait for the next episode and i hope you make this game part of your more permanent line up cause its one of my favorites and there is so much good content to be had when someone like you plays it. Most tld content creators are much more laid back and it gets boring.
you can see if you’re smelling tasty from the menu, click the person tab icon and check for wavy ‘eat me’ smell lines
The flare gun is 1 hit kill a bear and the wolf wait till it's charging towards you ,and when they are very close(2-3 step away) if you crouch and if you hit a headshot it's insta kill anything except rabbits ,but even if you miss it will cancel the animal attack. You also can step on ledges to rest while you claim a rope

there is one good thing about the parasites, you can eat bad meat and predator meat without risk of more parasites or resetting your sick timer. i still wouldnt test it with extremely bad meat tho.

Where it said your leaving the lower dam, the next area/room is another part of the dam. Also look around real good at the dam you might find a riffle.

Actually Glock you CAN kill a moose with a handgun :) For that matter you can kill a moose with a bow. You just have to cheese the mechanics.
See, such attacks, an arrow or a bullet, will cause "bleed." This can happen to the NPCs just as much as the player, the only difference is the size of the health bar.
And while you can bandage your bleeding, the animals cannot. So after 1 hit just get in a car or somewhere and wait for them to bleed out.
If you are willing to play that way you can even melee a wolf and then bandage yourself then wait.

If you have a wolf following you and don't want to fight him, if you press the 3 button you will drop a decoy which is a piece of meat, he will eat that and stop following you.

So if you ate any predator meat you may get "Risk of parasites" and at any point before it goes away (ok there might be an rng every ___ Hours). On the brightside now that you have them eat as much wolf and bear meat as you want, they don't replenish or anything like that you have them till their gone or you're dead.
Maybe you can try fight back those damn wolfs with a 🪓 😂
cairn stones are trail markers as well normally leading to an entrance or exit
Also you can break down the wooden crates for wood.
I don't get nervous when your health gets to single digits in 7days. One shot kills what really had me on edge all the time lol

By-the-way Glock you had the intestinal parasite when you started the episode also a flare gun will kill any animal, maybe not a moose but definitely a bear, a wolf and a deer with one shot to the Head

My man, you are 100% ready for interloper difficulty. It's much more exciting. The flare gun will 1 tap any animal in the game, even a moose, if you get a critical hit in the head. Not easy, but 100% possible.

You can actually kill a wolf with a flare gun needs to be a head shot and you kinda need to play chicken with it until its in close range but its doable
