Watching Glock fuel the fire to 6h duration while barely being cold, taking 2 torches and then just leaving it is just something that will never not break my heart
@@Itz_TonyMF Yeah, I don't think this game was really his thing. At some point, there's not really much of an adversary other than yourself. Had he just stayed put he would have been completely safe! But safety is not interesting, especially for somebody who makes their living by entertaining people like us.
It just sucks..it's a really good and fun game. He could have ran it longer ad still have been reckless for content but enough focus to keep the series going
Listening to Glock talk about shoving a flare gun up a wolf’s ass and watching its eyes blow out like Roman candles has to be one of the highlights of the series.
Top tips for new players - always check under stairs in hydro dam, never carry meat, there are two cook slots on every fire barrel, safes open by selecting and turning the dial, interloper matches are a rarity, and nothing respawns. On interloper cabin fever is a real problem. Oh, and take the goddam notes! 😂
Just a note about chemistry. Stump remover has a high concentration of potassium nitrate. Combine that with ground coal, and ground matches to make low grade gun powder. In the workbench you can reload the shell casings with bullet tips made from scrap metal, and the gun powder to make more ammo.
Mystery lake is one of the first maps when The Long Dark was released in 2017, i do recommend to search for the tower signal due to the fact you can find a sniper rifle over there.
Some notes do map reveals, some don't. Use the A and D buttons to turn the tumbler. Go slow, listen for a click and watch for the tag to light up for each one. A first, then D, then A again. Then an 'OPEN" button will appear. I know spawns are different for every game, but I found my rifle in the office at the very top of the stairs. It looked like a rust stain on the side of some metal shelves leaning in the corner
Damn, what a way for this series to end. Glock and Neebs got me into this game and I feel a whole lot more like Neebs than Glock. Glock beasted his way through this series in a way I can’t even understand. My first attempt I died on day 1 to a Moose coming out of nowhere. Next try I died because I accidentally burnt through all of my matches by having my unlit torch equipped while accidentally striking matches while I tried to loot something. 3rd attempt, died by wolf attack on day 2. I’m finally now on day 14 or something but it blows my mind how far Glock got with all of his reckless abandon lol
I'm sure lots of people will say this - but I think you just have to walk slowly across lakes, you can't outrun the cracking ice. AS SOON AS you see the crack warning, just back up the way you came.
Almost got to a month on his first run, that's pretty good. As soon as he fell into the lake I knew it was over, being wet and cold, especially stuck out in that area is pretty much a death sentence.
3:19 A fully repaired urban parka is my favorite piece for the inner upper torso layer, if I want to stay light and fast. It has a really good warmth to weight and warmth to movement_penalty ratio. And for the inner layer its sup par windproof, waterproof, protection and durability do not matter much, since only the windproofing and potection of the outer layer applies. The inner layer only gets wet, when the outer layer is completely wet and only the outer layer looses much durability from blizzards and fights. So depending on the situation, I combine it with an expedition parka, fisherman, moose or bear hide coat. It is a very rare find, so I would at least store it. Be aware, that stored items also slowly loose durability. So after long term survival stored items may become ruined, if you don't repair them regularly. 3:47 You don't need combinations for safes in TLD. You crack them, by listening for clicks, while slowly turning the wheel. When you hear a click, you change the turning direction. Books with the same title are not the same. So you can read all of them, to increase your skill. Mystery Lake is the first existing region of TLD. So most long term players, know it very well. Average temperatures there, are higher than in most other regions. Bad weather is less frequent. Shelters are abundant, all ice is thick, ... The Camp Office is probably the most used POI in TLD. 6:23 Stump Remover (Potassium Nitrate), Sulfur and Charcoal are the three ingredients for black powder, or in TLD gun powder, to refill revolver and rifle cartridges. 17:14 There is a trappers hut, down there, that has a possible rifle spawn, and other decent loot. Just follow the edge of the Mystery Lake map from the railway tunnel. I hope your luck in finding a rifle gets better. After falling into water, I'd recommend to change the wet clothing. I think you used more stims in one episode, than I in my entire TLD playthroughs. I always spare them for worse situations, and end up almost never using them. Yepp. On Interloper difficulty, there is not only less loot as in stalker, but some loot does not exist at all: - There are no fire arms at all to be found. The only weapon is the improvised bow. - There are no knives and hatchets to be found. Thus you need to forge the crappier improvised ones. - The best clothing items, that normally can be found in loot, do not exist at all, on interloper. At first it that may seem boring, however you usually play that when you know more about the game. Then you concentrate on crafting your own stuff, bow hunting, trapping and fishing, sooner, which makes scavenging for some things more of a side occupation. So interloper is more of a play that challenges your game and world knowledge. Then there is also custom mode, where you can modify the game to your liking making it even far more difficult than interloper in all aspects, or make some things more difficult while e.g. having a lot of loot. If you e.g. want to challenge yourself to a game with no firearms, but hate the low amounts of loot, otherwise, you can set that up. But personally I totally agree with you, that too less loot is boring, to me.
A Nice ending! yet another Frozen person for the next survivor to loot. I feel like the game should have higher amounts of loot on Frozen people. Look at how much loot Glock had on him, you'd hit the jack pot if you stumbled on his character
Mystery lake camp office is awesome. There's fish in the lake, rabbits spawn up the top of a nearby hill that wolves never get to, deer spawn by the railroad tracks. A work bench in the office. There's a bear that spawns on the far side of the lake. There's a good sprinkling of cabins and trailers across the map. I settled down there as it's not too cold and you are fairly central to the entire region.
Forlorn Muskeg is the best place to watch new players struggle! There's lots of cattails so they can usually cling to life long enough to find their way out again
Glock, there was a chance of a rifle spawn point in mystery lake, all the way to the left once you re enter mystery lake from that tunnel conecting forlong musket, in a trapper cabin. There is a spawn point in forlong musket too, in a single farm. The final rifle spawn point is in broken railroad, in a hunters cabin near the end of the map, you can also get a revolver too, too bad you didnt explore tho.
Hey Glock! That direction you were heading at the end of the train tracks (before you decided to go to Forlorn Muskeg) leads to the Trapper's Homestead, which has a chance to spawn a rifle.
Hey Glock, if youre facing the tunnel for the forlorn muskeg inside mystery lake, make a right with the rock wall on your left. Youll find the trappers cabin and theres a 90 percent chance youll find a rifle in there
I’ve seen a few days in excess of 40 Celsius (1a bit over 100F) where I’ve lived in Southern Ontario and Calgary, AB. It gets especially warm here during forest fire season. Though 50F does sound kinda nice right about now😂
New to your channel, this series is awesome! Only been a sub for 2 days and I binged watched your videos. Was dealing with a stomach flu. Helped me get through it! Thanks man!
Sorry that your adventure ended early. I can provide some tips if you like to survive again. Torches can be thrown on the ground, and you can light another torch from your inventory with the one on the ground to chain burn torches. You can crack a safe by slowly turning the dial listen for the big click (left/right/left) When trying to kill a bear, first build a fire stoke it for two hours, stand behind the fire, and shoot the bear, the bear will not attack because of the fire, advance time one hour, and the bear will bleed out, and die with one shot. Make fur clothing out of rabbit, deer, wolf, and bear for maximum warmth.
If you go past that worn down cabin in mystery lake region, down the hill on the right before you went in the tunnel, there's a hunters cabin back there that has a good chance of having a rifle.
Warm in Canada during the summer? Absolutely it is! it'll get into the 30-35 degrees C here on Vancouver Island for a good stretch, and I work on a greenhouse farm so it's even warmer most days lol
At the Broken Railroad area, you have to leave the tracks, loop through that valley, and up the other side. You wind up at the Maintenance Yard, which is a large indoor structure with plenty of space.
Love the jabs at us cold Canadians where I live gets to -45c but summer warms up to +30 get 7 months of winter so ya it feels like winter never ends sometimes great series glock!!!!
im very glad you played this game because you are one of my favorite to watch, but it was sad to see you give up and just go into the long dark... much love as always glock! thanks for the awesome content.
Notes that allude to stashes open up THAT part of the map. Grape and orange soda don't have caffeine in them. You can use sound to open a safe if you try.
I really enjoyed this series, I hope you give it another go. FYI, there's a good rifle that spawns somewhere around Dam. Either inside somewhere, in the pipes outside, or in the cave at the bottom of the dam.
I was in Montreal in August, and it was 70 degrees to low 70's, so you're probably not wrong. I don't know how they take the winters, I know I couldn't.
Interloper (highest difficulty) is essentially a challenge mode, so the loot rate is abysmally low, you have make most tools and clothing yourself, there are no firearms; you have to make your own weapon and ammo, the wildlife is more aggressive and has a bigger aggro range, and the weather and temperature gets worse the longer you play.
some of the notes show hidden studd wich you can go and search where the map shows. some of the notes you dont need but still collect them all because they wont encumber you. also the safes you just need to start rolling the wheel and listen when it clicks. safes allways open that first round is clockwise, then counter clockwise and then back to clockwise. Keep it coming Glock9 👍👍
You should keep a cooking pot on you. Cooking pots can boil larger volumes of water than a can. In fact, that town hall with the big stove would be a great place to cook up obscene amounts of water. Just fill all the burners with cooking pots (Lord knows you've found plenty even if you haven't taken all of them), set them all to melt snow, then skip time on the last one twice. Then collect.

You gotta back up immediately when you see the ice icon. dont go to broken railroad its a dead end.....literally. also you couldve stopped againt a mountain where the wind block icon was up. you were getting warmer there. This game isnt forgiving even on the normal settings. i usually die before my 3rd region lol
OMG!!!!! Can you imagine if Glock runs into Neebs and Appsro?!?! 1 episode get together. That would be EPIC!!!!! At the Upper Dam. I don't care if it's for 5-10 minutes. They can both post it at the same time. I know it's not multiplayer but they're creative.
It's possible to kill a moose with the revolver. It's just difficult. In a struggle (when the animal is trying to maul you), the moose always wins (the way the bear always wins). The moose can break your ribs, so if you want to kill the moose you need to avoid its charge.
Having just watched all 8 of these in the last 36 hours or so, finishing the 8th 20 min after this video was uploaded, I guess it's time to install this game. I've owned it for YEARS, but when I was gifted it, there was just a story mode I think. I wasn't as into survival games then as I am now (7DtD and Glocks fault, lol) so I think it def time to give this mode a swing!
And Im just gonna go with the head canon of "While Glock slept", the Mind reading moose having heard his thoughts of "I could probably take him" decided to show hm whos the biggest warrior in the woods.
I really love that you played this game your way. And you’re 100% right. Unless viewers here are TLD fans, they want to see you get loot and bust wolf ass in a reckless way. I really enjoy watching TLD and this series was probably the best play through I’ve seen. I think you called it at a good time.
Hahaha we actually got a summer in Canada 😅😂 North of the nappa valley there is the okanagan valley that is an actual desert with super dry and warm weather, rattlesnakes and black widows lol summer last from may to october more or less
Hey Glock, as a Canadian myself you're not going to find a gun... Justin took those away! Second, pool weather is anything above 40 degrees! LOL Third, with all the train's derailed, are you sure you're not in OHIO??
You will eventually like Interloper difficulty, you can find things but it means traveling the entire map to get stuff and then crafting most of your own things :)
Great series! How often do you survey the map with the charcoal? Just don't see you do it much so maybe off camera. Keep up the great work!! Hope you try another run at it!
Gotta appreciate Glock who always makes drowning sounds when he falls into water
"shooergh blorg"
He's been watching Simon's deaths and death noises too much, he's starting to emulate him
i love it since i listen to it while i work lolol

I really love that you played this game your way. And you’re 100% right. Unless viewers here are TLD fans, they want to see you get loot and bust wolf ass in a reckless way.
I really enjoy watching TLD and this series was probably the best play through I’ve seen. I think you called it at a good time.
We watch Daddy Glock every day for nap time. My kids love his voice. It works for me.
not only does he find all the places neebs has been visiting he also pulled a neebs with the ice lol
In mystery lake the train tunnel before the muskage there is a rundown cabin by the track past that there is a hunting cabin where I found a rifle
Hahaha we actually got a summer in Canada 😅😂 North of the nappa valley there is the okanagan valley that is an actual desert with super dry and warm weather, rattlesnakes and black widows lol summer last from may to october more or less
It's like déjà vu with watching neebs at the same time.
for the safe you won't find the combination anywhere, just turn it very slowly like you would a real tumbler (left right left) and it will unlock
absolutely loved the "pool weather" joke, it gets pretty warm where i am but i still love cold jokes about canada
the safes are easy to crack. just slowly turn the dial till the tumbler clicks then go in the opp direction. no need to search for the code
I think it’s north and to the left, there should be a hunting cabin with a rifle in it in the area with the dam.
ive watched so many play throughs of this game, but i never knew it said "you have faded into the long dark" when you die. TITLE DROP!
Bro has 4 lbs of fuel, after stumbling through the dark for the first two minutes, "let's light this torch" ! Classic Glock..
Do a series on sons of the forest please
Hey Glock, as a Canadian myself you're not going to find a gun... Justin took those away! Second, pool weather is anything above 40 degrees! LOL Third, with all the train's derailed, are you sure you're not in OHIO??
I love the way you talk, especially when you say the word “food”. I don’t know what it is, but I had to finally say it.
"guess I shoulda been takin all of them." vindication
double click to move inventory faster
Excellent series - ty. Love the "voice acting" always works for a laugh.
Wait until you find the hunter's cabin, generally a good place to find a rifle.
You will eventually like Interloper difficulty, you can find things but it means traveling the entire map to get stuff and then crafting most of your own things :)
Lol when he was in that tiny cubby his temp was going up but he still went out and slept in the cold. Glock was ready for this series to be over.
Great series! How often do you survey the map with the charcoal? Just don't see you do it much so maybe off camera. Keep up the great work!! Hope you try another run at it!
You had the fire barrel in the train car! You chose more unsteady ice over the known barrel. So proud of your life choices haha.
The "Gunsmithing" Book you came across will help you clean your guns more efficiently.
Damn. Good Run Glock!
It’s funny how your play through is combining Appsro & Neebs, got parasites like Appsro & in same location as Neebs.
Very realistic, I know I have a lot of empty cabinets and drawers in my house. 😂
Gotta love how Glock just passes on all the books he finds. You can re-read the ones you've read to up your skill level
A muskeg is a type of swamp in Canada and Alaska.
Pretty sure the camp office also has a basement, or at least last I remember it did.
Great way to spend my lunch break!
After watching Glock kill that bear so easily, I was shocked at how this ended. Murdered by white noise.
that was the same area I died at last time I played. was lost in a blizard and could not find a safe place to stay.
Collect books. Search area by area moving into a new cabin as you go. Blasting through 3 or 4 areas is a horrible plan lol. Survive not speed run
Grab all the cat tails along the rivers can eat the stems and the tops are tinder they are lightweight.
so obviously now that you know the basics you gotta do story mode :) Loved this and I need moar!!
