  • Today's vlog shows little snippets all throughout our homeschool day, as I teach my five kids, ranging from 8th grade down to kindergarten. We got our second batch of backyard chickens, and they are the cutest! I show some of our curriculum as we go about our day, and you'll get a glimpse into the challenge of dividing my time between all of the kids!

    In my 60 years I've never had a dishwasher. We have Rudd rangers, cinnamon queens, Roy's and benifielders.

    I live remotely in a national park in a beautiful but older house. No dishwasher, but I don’t mind. We bought Berry bagels for this week, my son was super excited.

    Try taking an onion and slice in half. Microwave or heat in an oven till slightly steamy,wrap in thin cloth and lie on side with it over entire ear area

    We make our own cream of chicken with milk, chicken broth, flour and butter with a roux. It works great!

    Tip for your plugged ear...only because I had the SAME issue after a bad cold a couple of months ago. Laid on that side as much as possible while sleeping, and tried to force a massive yawn a few times a day. Eventually it popped and no longer have a plugged ear 🤷‍♀️🤪

    My kids are the same way! I have some that are fast, but not as thorough and some that are slower,, but do it well when it comes to chores or school 😉

    Oh my goodness. I am so glad to hear you have a plugged ear! lol not because it’s plugged, but because someone knows what I am going through! I have been dealing with this on and off for the last couple years. I had them drained once and that helped, but I really don’t want to go through that again. I pray yours has gotten better since you made this video.

    Hey Friend, Happy Friday. I like blueberry or plain bagels better. I’m not a fan of cinnamon raisin bagels either. 😅 I remember when I was in school about 10 years ago and it was hard to focus on my work when kids were making the class laugh. 😂 I love how Wesley is able to sound out words. All of your kids do amazing with school you’re an amazing teacher. 😊❤ it’s hard not having a dish washer when you have to wash all of the dishes. If you have help washing the dishes, it’s not that bad not having one. 😊🥰

    For plugged ear try dry steaming half an onion. When it's cool enough to the touch put it on your ear for as long as possible. You can also put a couple of drops from the same steamed onion.

    Would have the fastest dishwasher do the dishes as their chore every day. Have the other kids always do the chore they are good at

    I’d love to hear Elijah play again.. all of them. The breakfast looked great! I will have to check our Costco for 12 1/2 bagels.
    I have a dishwasher but use it only once a week since it’s just my husband and me.
    I enjoyed being with you and sweet family this morning . ❤

    Try flonase nasal spray for your ear. This is likely a plugged eustachian tube from your recent cold. If you spray flonase (or the generic fluticasone) into your nose on the affected side, twice daily for several days, it will likely resolve quicker. This is known as eustaciam tube dysfunction and usually will resolve on its own, but may take a bit.
    P.s.
    Love your content.

      @mamatofive1  Місяць тому

      Thanks so much! That was a common answer I found too, that it’s likely the Eustachian tube.

    • @oneblessedmommy4024
      @oneblessedmommy4024 Місяць тому

      Yes, flonase is the only thing that helps me. Allow it at least a week to help but you'll notice a difference in 3 days.

    We’ve lived in our house for what will be 9 years in August. We don’t have a dishwasher and have 7 kids. We are so used to washing our dishes it doesn’t feel strange anymore. We also involve the kids and some do better than others. 😂

    • @mamatofive1
      @mamatofive1  Місяць тому +1

    I just recently had a plugged ear too from a sinus infection! The only thing that seemed to help was heat. A hot water bottle or heating pad against my ear and across my cheek for a good few minutes at a time seemed to help loosen up the build up. Hope you find some relief, it’s super annoying!! ❤️

    Julie, you could try a few drops of rubbing alcohol in your ear. That works if you get water in your ear, but I have no idea if it will work in your situation. It's worth a try, before you have to go to the doctor.
