As Toby said, soon as you get in and start to drive you instantly get a massive grin on your face, ive had them all my life, i currently own a 2001 td5 90 and just love to get in and drive her....never gets boring, and the camaraderie between other Defender owners on the road is fantastic too.
Yeah!! That’s what I like to hear I’m in the U.S at the moment seeing at some REALLY big trucks but looking forward to getting home and firing the old girl up (the Landy, my wife’s with me) 😂
Such a good, honest video - nicely done! We’re taking delivery of our second old Defender in about a month (a 98 300Tdi Defender 90). You captured the character of these things so well. It’s not a good car for a lot of reasons, but what it is trumps all of those downfalls and it’s something you either hate or absolutely love.

l owned old Defenders for sixteen years (my last one, a 2005 TD5 110 for nine years and 90,000 miles) l now own a new Defender 90 Commercial The new one is fabulous but l still miss the old one. As above, the old Defender is more than the sum of its parts. Technically it's terrible as a road vehicle but l would still have another TD5 Defender after driving the new one for six months.
You guys should see my 90” it’s a 1988 300 Tdi , R380 gear box & transfer box & rear axel out of a discovery . Disc brakes all round , Alfa Romao seats , ash top dash , wooden floor in the back , map 🗺️ on the roof respray marine blue & black gloss roof all new serious doors & spear wheel carrier

Do you have any wheel spacers fitted, or just the bigger tyres? I love the look so just interested in how best to achieve it 👍🏻
