This has become like my favourite GDQ run ever
Best run I've ever seen. I love the whole commentary so much! Very informative while don't getting dry at all. And of course the fun you guys made AND clearly had. I always love runs where the runner and the couch just having fun and joking around. The crowd gets usually more involved in those runs and commentaries and that also brings a really great atmosphere with it.
Only run that came close to this amount of fun was the Super Mario Odyssey run by Bayleef @AGDQ2019 which also was just a fun run.

who the heck was reading the donations for this because my guy you're phenomenal! The "pet the Eevee" stuff was already funny but you hyped it up like no other!
So I usually like learning useful mechanics and such before I ever play a game, but preferably not through videos that show story progress. Shiny hunting and general grinding are great sources for that so I was gonna click off after a little bit. That said, this turned out to be one of the most enjoyable speedruns I've ever watched and it was full of incredibly useful info right at the beginning. Once I finally get a Switch, this will be the first game I play and it'll be far more fun to play through because of this speedrun tbh. Loved it! Thanks to the runner and the couch for a great time.
I like to think this Eevee is like Red’s Eevee where it can change to different evos and use all these moves
I find it hilarious that they say he might not get a clefairy and the game just spawns more than 5 during Mt Moon xD
Still one of my favorite GDQ runs of all times. So much fun and a pretty impressive time from Eddaket despite all the BS'ing around :)
Also, Keizaron is a gem to the speedrunning community! Having him on the couch or playing ensures alot of fun (and a not so optimal run)!

39:30 Why does the game sometimes freeze a bit if someone has a status effect? For some reason, the game _waits for status effect animations to finish playing_ before starting a turn. As far as I know, this has affected all mainline Pokemon games since Gen VI.

With this game, sequence-breaking in the gym order is a thing so...maybe someday soon it'll just be set to where gym's levels are based on your party's levels

I was the one who put the donation in for the team rocket voices, I honestly wasn’t expecting the voice too, and I was getting ready for work when I heard the donation and excited cause it was the first donation I put it that got aired and those voices, the announcer did,.

this game is quite hard to do bad on tho it kinda forces you to speed through it (if you are used to grinding on red/blue/fire red/ leaf green) with a team you like (not an op team on purpose)

I know it's been forever, but he was actually wrong. There are 8 moves Eevee can learn, including a Fairy-type move called Sparkly Swirl (90 base power + applies the effects of a Full Heal to every Pokemon in the party)

I just love all it took to get a casual $4k in the pool for charity in one donation read was to deny the Eevee some pets.
I'm 30 minutes in and this is already the highlight of the marathon VODs for me. Great banter from the couch, all the stuff with Onyx in Mt Moon was cracking me up.
yeah I loved the 'pet the eevee' donations... that was like at least $5k just to pet a virtual creature, yet they didn't donate to save a shiny...
He was pretty fast.

This run and Keizaron's Crystal run were some of my favorites of the entire event. The couches were great and also the donation trains they started were awesome!
43:00 - Funny think here is in a recent interview, it was confirmed that more playtesters preferred the eevee version. You could be on to something!

Actually, from what I've remembered, the second version was originally going to be Psyduck, but they changed it to Eevee because Psyduck and Pikachu are both Yellow.

Fun fact: In the champion battle, if your rival uses a full restore it says "You used a full restore" Also it makes the rival name all caps for some reason...
That's across the board, the game for some reason will always say "you used X" when your opponent uses an item.
