XRT doesn’t play it today though, do they? They used to a lot for about the first half of the ‘90s but it’s been decades since I’ve heard it on the radio now. I’d almost completely forgotten it existed until this moment.
When the rest of the world eventually hears this, it'll take off. It's well over 30 years old now. I saw him around 1990 and he was playing it then. Absolute peach of a song, and a great video
Might possibly be the greatest forest-fire of a song ever recorded. First heard this in '89, and this song played at full volume boosted my '85 Chevette to 3000hp, blew twin exhaust plumes of pure rocket fire out the rear, melting pavement and blasting buildings to rubble. The speedo melted when I passed Mach 2.6 and not even a trio of CF18 Hornets sent to pull me over could keep up. Someday, starships will use this song to power interstellar faster-than-light engines.
Now, there is a thought. I can almost hear Captain Kirk: 'Mister Sulu, ahead Warp Factor Webb Wilder.' 'Captain, it is not logical.' 'No, Mr. Spock it isn't... but it works.'
When Webb and the Beatnecks played at Antone's here in Austin my brother and I were on the front row every time. He always blew the roof off with 'Human Cannonball". Check out his videos "Webb Wilder, Private Eye" and "Horror Hayride" sometime. The guy has a sense of humor straight out of the '50's and '60's. If you grew up then, you'll know what I mean. Way overlooked talent and entertainer if there ever was one.
I first heard this song on WXRT at work in Chicago in 89 or 90...Johnny Mars or Lynn Brehmer...dont remenber...but...how can.yo not love this effen song?
Saw these live when touring this track and album in the uk supporting the Georgia Satellites, small venue packed beyond capacity and both bands absolutely killed it. Awesome.
Unemployed for six months! Watched this ...grabbed my guitar sang it to my wife! She says "you go Baby!" I live in Johnson City Tennessee ...somebody shoot me!
Je l’ai vue en concert en France en première partie de Russel Calvin c’était une tuerie , 25 ans après sa reste un de mes meilleurs concert et j’en ai fais beaucoup
@@webbwilder3021 Thank You Very Much for the Reply. You're a Great Performer and Your Music is Great too. Are You currently Touring? Coming to Chicago?
@@DaveWarpony65 Thanks. Well, we were just there a few weeks ago at Fitzgerald's. We try to play Fitzgerald's in Berwyn twice a year and have petty much done so since around 1`986. Not sure when the next one will be. Probably some time between December and February as we were just there in May. Stay tuned! WW
The first Webb Wilder song I ever heard, it was on the college radio station in Greenville, NC. I later got to see him live in Asheville, NC and he's incredible live! Overall, I think Doo Dad is probably my favorite album, but this song is my favorite song by him.

This was Webb's best band, featuring Donnie (the Twangler) Roberts.
The guitarist reminds me a lot of Angus Young.
I think reminds most Kevin Coyne
Webb is Brilliant.... pick-up on it.

Did they ever make a song that is as badass as this one? Or just a one hit wonder??
