@@pauln8997 LOL. Seriously though, the G3 Sportsman 1710 is a pretty dang good value for the money and doesn't cost a ton to keep running. If anyone is in the market, they are doing double rebates on the 2019s we have left! Can't wait to see the fish BLat catches out of that thing!

Love my G3 sportsman from Buck's! had it for 3 years now and no problems whatsoever. I got the 90hp 4 stroke. love it!

Mine is just the sportsman 17. I get about 36 mph tops out of it.
That's awesome to hear! So you guys know, the Sportsman 17 was renamed last year to 1710 just to better reflect the 17'10" length. Same boat!

I've still got my 2005 G3 HP180 I bought in 2008.
It's 18ft long, has a Yamaha 150, 21 pitch s.s. prop, hot-foot, blinker-trim, & I just had a 6in TH Marine jack-plate mounted about a week ago. Top speed now is close to 60mph!!!
The stability of this boat is AMAZING & this boat handles so AWESOME in curves & coming out of curves!!!
My next project is to add hydraulic steering...BUT MONEY DON'T GROW ON TREES!!!
I love this boat & so does my 15 yr old daughter...she's discovered that she loves fishing for anything with her old man!!!
I would buy another G3 with absolutely no hesitation at all...THE ABSOLUTE BEST BOAT I'VE EVER OWNED!!!

I bought the exact same boat in February, upgraded to the ultrex trolling motor and added 1 power pole. I live in east Texas home of some monster bass fisheries and this boat performs perfectly on them.

Sweet boat, I am still doing my total rebuild (way behind schedule, but you can’t work on it when the fish are biting) but when I am done... I am still gonna wish I bought a new one!! 🤓😂

B. Lat you are lucky you got a 90 hp. I have the Ranger RT178. The specs are almost identical but I could only get a 75 hp on mine.
G3's are good boats. What did you do with your 80s fisher marine? - good to show kids they dont always need 250+HP 21' boats to catch bass. Had a high school parent ask me if they needed 250HP for an upcoming tournament....need more videos like this to send better messages to the youngins

Tin boats rock B. Lat. I love mine (Tracker PT190/115 Optimax). There are a lot of good choices out there now.They don't perform like your father's jon boat anymore either. In Minnesota we have tons of lakes, most 500 to 2000 acres or so. Honestly, why would you need more boat than that unless you compete at the highest level of tourneys or need to run really big water?

Dude! Thank you for doing this video! I've been searching and searching for an aluminum boat. Looked at Bass Tracker to Xpress to Vexus and so on. Now I have another to check out. The G3 looks like a contender.
You really can't go wrong with any of those brands you mentioned! We've been very happy with G3 through the years though and would love a chance to help you out if you're not too far away. We will always encourage you to work with a good dealer that can provide you the support you need after you buy.
2 things B. 1. In about 20 years all that yard mowing and standing up bass fishing your knees gonna be beggin for them "Bill Dance" seats. 2. I CANNOT BELIEVE you didn't insist on a Mercury. 10 years ago no pro would even think of a tin boat. Now particularly the skinny water boys all have a tin boat. I guarantee-that boat you can pass down to your boy. Needless to say-unless I'm going out to the oil rigs I'm in a tin boat.
its a yamaha boat... why put a merc on it... its all the same anyways.. yamaha not the best power but very reliable.. u could be running that motor for the next 20 years... Hell ive got a 40 year old 2 stroke outboard.. still runns.. And to put a 90 on a 17 foot aluminum boat is overkill anyways... it would plane fine with a 60...
Nice! I have a 2000 bass tracker 175 with a 40hp mercury. I have thought about upgrading (but still keeping my tracker) to an older fiberglass. I think after looking at the new aluminum boats I might get an xpress x18 if I can afford it or something along the lines of a Ranger RT188/ Triton Tx18. The market sure has a lot of nice aluminum boats now, especially compared to my tracker
i like the smaller alumacraft boats also.. might look into that.. but in europe u dont get a full boat+ trailer+ motor and everything for 25k... more like 35-40k over here for the same stuff.. even if i get a boat thats build in my own country... a yamaha 90 is like 12k over here alone.. Over here u see nobody with a heavy firbreglass boat.. for starts u need a heavy car to pull it and taxes on heavy cars are too extreme.. u dont want to be paying 500 bucks tax every month just for the car.. when a smaller car is like 50-200 bucks
Sometimes I miss my G3, but then I remember it can't go where my Solo Skiff can go. I do plan on a tin boat for cold weather fishing. Thanks for the inspiration.

What does it run mph wise? I have Merc 75 on a 17' tin and I'm doing 55. With some mods.

I have a stainless prop on my motor and by the GPS and trimmed it will max at 38.5 -39.
Plus with no wrap you can go incognito!! I know you dig your fans but sometimes flying under radar is a sweet deal. #gamechanger

I have the 2018 model of the same boat, please keep this play list updated with your advice and changes/modifications. Also maybe some do you know anything about the hubs on the trailer and how to grease them, get told something different by everyone i ask. Also what prop did you like pitch ? willing to wait for those three months your using it !! Will be pulling for you.

David V I wonder if seadek is better. Need to replace my carpet and considered going vinyl or seadek.
@@capenelson1560 I'm not too familiar with seadek. I have the vinyl like this on my 2018 pro guide v175... I went with carpet on the rear casting deck and carpet on the front casting deck. Main are of boat has all the vinyl. So glad the entire boat didn't have it. I live in AZ and it gets 115 out here. Had the boat on the last last weekend and hit the floor with a temp gun and was reading 132 deg. You cannot walk barefoot on it. May be ok for your area since I'm not sure how hot it gets where you are at. I wouldnt recommend the vinyl , don't get me wrong though gh it's so easy to keep clean...

Dude I bought the same exact boat this year in burgundy I love it man I would recommend running a 19 pitch prop mine came with a 16 and wouldn’t get over 36 mph

We have a few customers that fish tournaments with them. There is also the 1810 and 1910 which would offer a little more room for high school teams.
Bucks Island what do they run compared to Tracker TWX 175? I fish out of a Key Largo 176 w/ a 70 Yami and poling platform now lol, but have moved out of Florida and taken up bass fishing. I love my boat, but have been seriously looking at tin boats for space and gear. God Bless

It's a great boat B.Latt, just a word of caution, that rubber deck gets OUTRAGEOUSLY HOT! If you ,or anyone in your family fishes barefooted, BEWARE!! Especially with your little men!! Or pets! I have that deck in mine and I so wish it was carpet!! That being said it is super easy to keep clean and always looks great! A bit slippery in the rain. Otherwise a GREAT BOAT!!! congratulations!

The stability of this boat is AMAZING...running down the river or sitting still...it still amazes me.
Last summer I landed an 8lb bass & i had to run from the front deck to the back deck & i noticed how this boat barely rocked with all this movement.
Buy one...i don't think you'll regret it.
I'd buy another G3 with no HESITATION AT ALL!!!
