Really bummed about the “no window” ideology that’s become ingrained in todays flying culture. Looking out the window has always been my favorite part of flying.
It sucks but the reason is because that flight was flying over questionable airspace... Russia, Ukraine, active war zone. So you really don't want your location beaming with lights in a clear sky with a crazy Russian sending up a missile 😬
@@TheUpHighGuy Yeah but there were hundreds of miles north of any war zone and it was during the day. I guess there could be some internal memo for Air India pilots to darken the windows while flying across Russia regardless of any mitigating circumstances, but definitely pointless in this case. If Russia wants to shoot you down they don’t need passenger windows open to help do it.
@@TheUpHighGuy As someone who has worked on the pointy end of both ground to air missile, your assertion is completely wrong. You wouldn't see a plane window at night, and you wouldn't care. Lock it up with whatever acquisition means you have, fire, boom.
Same! but I grew up into a sleepy person who likes to shut the window, so as courtesy I take the aisle, and leave the window to someone who likes it. If I get the window it will be closed the entire flight, so better let someone else have it so they have fun
I had an Air India experience I'll never forget. I was flying business class between the US and India. Halfway through the flight, I wanted to go to the bathroom, there were two bathrooms at the front and back. Now I didn't know the front one was for first class passengers, I mean it wouldn't have mattered to me either way if I had to use the one behind me. So I get up and this guy attendant asks me what I'm doing and I just point to the bathroom and say I wanna go to the bathroom. He looks at me, narrows his eyes, gives me a growling and threatening look and through clenched teeth growls "Nootttt Heerrrreee" exactly with that speed as if I'm trying to steal some bathroom experience from him instead of saying "Oh I'm sorry sir, this one is for first class passengers, please use the one over there reserved for business class passengers". First I was puzzled, then eventually I realized why he was saying no, and just shrugged it off. I mean if they treat someone paying business class airfare like that, what else is there to say.
It is a hit or a miss man. I got growled on the SFO-DEL sector where I was on biz and tried to go back to the econ cabin to say hi to a friend. And once, I was on econ and tried to do the same (a different acquaintance) who was in biz and I was in econ, they were nice enough to even let me sit beside him for a couple of hours and provided me with a biz meal ! So, yeah the lack of uniformity is what is AI. I think it’s true for bloody any Indian carrier - it can be gold or pure trash !

Can’t understand why some airlines have this obsession with dimming the windows for no particular reason. It’s really irritating. I find it so relaxing to look out the window on a flight, even when it’s only a view of the top of a layer of clouds.
It’s setting the mood , based on the current time of the arriving destination 😊 - Which is getting used to the arriving location timings . Dreamliner is specifically designed for long haul and so is the central control.
@@nusireddy142 That’s my understanding too but frankly I find it rather annoying. 👎🏻 Would rather use my own judgement vs airline staff to tell me when I can and cannot look out the window on a 787. 🚫 Cheers.
It's done as as a safety reason.True.Reason is your eyes will adapt to the darker cabin and in event of a crash you can exit the aircraft faster. That's why they do it and it's Mandatory Requirement.
@@bradowen761 dude, it was a joke. I mean, I find the original comment quite funny. Why would the crew dim the windows? Isn’t it obvious that it is done to avoid direct sunlight and make the cabin more comfortable? Boeing gave a switch to each seat so people can dim if they want, but more airlines are now locking the window features for all seats and controlling it themselves for everyone. This already caused some anger among flyers in the US.
Strange that the cabin crew wouldn't be more attentive knowing you were filming your experience. The fact they even tried to forbade it was telling in itself.
As an Indian unfortunately I had the same experience in 2020 when I was struggling to visit my ma who was in ICU. Terrible experience and then got stuck for 4 months because of the pandemic. I tried to connect with them by email, phone ,but no one helped. Then I paid a hand and foot to buy a ticket from Vande Bharat flight. Another horrible experience. Air India never returned the $400.00 from the previous two way flight I had paid for. Where as, other air lines returned the money to a few friends who were also traveling. Air India never responded to my emails. My hard earned money, they just stole it from me. I don't think I will ever support and buy another Air India ticket again.
Its owned by the government, right? That would mean the oversight is fundamentally lacking since its the same "organization" (i.e. the government) basically just vetting its own "airline division". Your friends may have a different experience even if they are also on a state-owned airline....just as long as it is from another nation, then that stat-owned airline can't make up their own rules in India like they can under their own government at home. State-owned airlines are not necessary once a nation is large and prosperous enough to support a self-sustained (i.e. organic) airline industry....so hopefully the government appointees running the company will be ok with letting control go one day
@@ChadDidNothingWrongit’s not owned by government anymore since 2022 or 23 Tata got it back and is working to make the brand better They have placed like a order of 400+ airbuses and merged 3 brands operating in india(vistara, airindia and Singapore)
$1,885 for that flight? Disgraceful. And airlines should stop controlling window views - other than during landings and takeoffs. There’s a reason people want to fly during the day and sit by the window. And it’s not so the crews can darken the cabin so they can goof off in the galleys. How about deep cleaning your filthy planes, by the way?
It was a long time ago, but I once had a very bizarre flight on Air India. It was a 747, and once we reached altitude, water started dripping from the ceiling onto the passengers in several areas of the plane. The crew went around with blankets so people could cover up. Apparently there were inflatable life rafts stored in the ceiling of the plane, and these had just been removed and tested before our flight, and put back in place without being dried properly. The altitude cause the moisture to condense and start dripping.
I'm an expat Londoner who has lived in Sydney, Oz, for over 30 years. I love my adopted country but the feeling of joy when the plane descends towards Heathrow after 26 hours travelling is indescribably lovely. Happy Friday one and all.
As an Indian I would love to thank you for this honest review. I have lived in Australia for the past 6 years and have taken Air India around the World on and off for the last decade. I have found Air India to have old aircrafts, dirty and dated cabins, questionable food, little or no selection of welcome drinks even in business class, unprofessional cabin and ground crew, laughable lounges that are often too crowded and with no service, dirty aircraft toilets and I feel like I can keep going. They have very strange rules and just not worth travelling with them.
It's funny how when white people trash you and your country you guys suck it up and agree, but when any other racial group, like Black and some Asian people do the same, you become extremely defensive and sometimes prejudiced and discriminatory against these ppl. Why you ppl can genuflect to white people so much is beyond logic and comprehension.
I think it's how most of us feel about our national airlines. I'm a born and bred Londoner who has lived in Australia for over 30 years. British Airways and Qantas are near the bottom of my list of preferred airlines - mostly due to their snotty cabin staff. I swear I am the world's most low maintenance airline passenger (just get me safely to my destination & I'll love you forever). I remember flying BA from London to New York and I was beyond excited. When the drinks trolley turned up I asked for a glass of Champagne - I was quite happy to pay for it. I was snottily informed by the hostie that they only served Champagne in first class. That just about sums up how BA cabin staff feel about economy class passengers.
@@SuzyQ334 I’m American-English-German, and I like British Airways, and Virgin Airways too (both British airlines). American Airlines, in fact, all American ones, are highly mediocre. Lufthansa (German airline) is okay - I used to fly them a lot, but haven’t in years. But yeah, I would say that of all the airways I’ve flown as a global traveller, I prefer to choose Virgin over any others. That being said, I’d love to fly one of the Middle Eastern airlines (like Etihad or something) because they sound like really great experiences, but I tend to factor in cost when I’m flying, and they’re quite expensive.

18:38 I was SO ANGRY with the staff on board who forced me to keep the window shades down as we flew over the Himalayas. That was my first opportunity to see this magnificent mountain range so I specifically chose a window seat so I could see it but was denied because apparently the sun was shining on all the video screens so the shades had to be closed. FK them!
Why do they do it? I don’t understand why? Like shouldn’t people be able to see out the windows? I didn’t even know airlines could manipulate the windows like that
If it affects other flyers, what can you do? If the Pilot or 2nd Officer advised everyone “that if they looked out their Window they could see the Himalayas” then everyone who wanted to, could have a look. Then put the blind down so as not to affect other flyers. In the end you can’t please everyone, I was flying First class from Western Canada to London Heathrow and the Woman in the Pod behind me decided to put her overhead light on when the entire Cabin was sleeping, I was awakened and two others were, and she did not care at all.

When areas of the cabin are dirty and in disrepair (especially in business class and on a quite new airplane), it of course makes me wonder how the rest of the plane (in the areas passengers don't get to see) is kept and maintained.
Air India's 787s average 8 years old, the oldest are over 10. That's far from "quite new" and plenty of time for wear and tear. No excuse for it not being attended to though but seats can break at any time. Airliners get a lot of hard use.
@@simprove Wow a whole 10 years!? 10 years old doesn't mean it's'okay to be disgusting. 8:12 He took a whole 3sec to clean something that's probably been disgusting for years but the airline couldn't be bothered. The state of this plane is due to laziness not age.

@Billy The Goat I've flown on Air India (economy) a few times. Long haul in the 787 was good, everything worked, service and food were great and there certainly was no hygiene problem. Internal flights weren't so great but that's down to the heavy use the aircraft get. I've been on flights in the US where the state of the cabin was no better than Noel's description of this flight and service was appallingly.
And this is why, I avoid Air India at all costs, even if it means taking a longer/connecting or a much more expensive flight (I'm Indian). Hopefully Tata takeover can fix this mess in a couple of years.
Bro I feel you, if there is any alternative I take it! I live in India and I had insane things happening with AI, e.g. a flight got rescheduled 36h only 48h before the flight and the only intimation was a cryptic SMS. Case is still on with Flightright. I had to return to India during pandemic when foreign nationals were only allowed to fly in directly from their countries and not via UAE, so had no other choice. When they stopped both AI and LH flights due to some argument over how many flights each airline was allowed to operate, I got first my LH flight canceled, not knowing why booked AI and they also canceled the same day. Got refund from LH within 3 days, from AI only after 2 years after a long fight and only because a friend knew someone in high rank at AI

dirty buttons, broken seats, lights, plugs, photocopy menu, infotainment unavailable, hidden staff, tired dated interiors, you would never get this type of substandard service on any other world airliner, even in economy.
I'm guessing that you haven't flown Avianca. Same experience with no wine and a tiny box lunch with a cold cheese sandwich. And yes, I too had to go to the relaxing flight attendants for a begrudgingly provided 1/2 bottle of water.
Based on your flight path shown on the map, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but those mountains were not the Himalayas, which are further east. Those were the Pamir mountains of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, also one of the highest mountain ranges in the world (they just don't reach 8000 metres above sea level, they reach a "mere" 7000+ metres...).
My first Air India experience also started out of Delhi. I can only say that I would never ever schedule a long stopover in Delhi or on Air India ever ever again as a solo woman traveller. Even if transiting, you're required to go outside of the airport and come back in again - cue being accosted by taxi drivers nonstop like in your video. Then if you have an overnight/red eye flight, the airport is covered in male passengers randomly sleeping on the ground in every corner and direction around the gates. It just felt wildly strange and unsafe and I could not rest for one moment in such an environment. All of the women began to cluster or group together for safety in a very well lit area. And then I got onto my plane.... It was not better. It was the most run-down plane I had ever been in. However, I did get to sit next to some female indian engineers on the plane and they were very cool.

The reason the engine was started before you got off the gate was because the APU was probably not working. That is why the plane was so hot and why it when dark, the ground staff probably pulled the gate power and everything shut down because the APU failed. The engine start at the gate allowed them to have electric power on the ground while being pushed back before they got to the place on the apron where they would normally start the engines and turn off the APU. Engines are started far from the gate for safety reasons to protect the ground crew from getting sucked into one.
@@AndreCarryonIf the APU failed from broken seals, it was lack of maintenance not hot weather. Planes fly in hot places all the time and things don’t break.

Thanks for honestly sharing the Air India, not so Business class flight experience. After watching this video, I will never fly Air India. Once, I went on vacation to India with family. Being a tall guy and the seat having no leg room and the flight being 11 hours long, it was just a overall horrible experience for me too. Will not fly Air India again for sure.
Was Air India much cheaper though than a western airline? If you are paying roughly the same price, it is shameful service from a company. Having said that, you can still get outstanding service from 5 star hotels in India, so it is possible to fix things, but not on Air India where it seems knowing someone important or your caste is how you get a job (the latter concept is bizarre to westerners). Or cheat if you are a pilot, which is really scary. It is a pity, because a country the size of India should have a really good airline, maybe things will improve with TATA?
It would be interesting to take this flight in a years time, then 2 years, see how TATA fixes the issues everyone knows AI has...Then they can buy BA and fix their issues.
There aren't enough negative superlatives that I can say about my experiences with Air India, from everything being broken, to dirty, to late. But about 3 years ago, I finally had enough. We had a AI 777 do an emergency landing in Germany (medical emergency) in the middle of the night. Everyone was asleep and the captain announces that after refueling we'll be up in the air in under 30 minutes. I look out my window and see my wing covered 85+% with a sheet of ice, likely from the rapid descent through the clouds. I look out at the other wing - Same thing. I tell a steward who is like, "Sir, that's very unlikely, it's summer." I drag him to a window, he looks out, his eyes widen, and he all but runs to the cabin. A few minutes later they announce departure will be delayed due to deicing. We were never "deiced" but sat on the tarmac for 3+ hrs watching the ice melt. Finally, after it did, we took off. At no point did I ever see either the captain or co-pilot outside doing a walk around. I think I maybe saved the lives of everyone on the plane that day. That was when I decided I was never again flying a non-US/UK (or non-El Al) flag carrier again.
That’s shocking! Well done for raising the alert. Scary to think they missed that and the consequences that could have happened. Also amazing that they thought icing couldn’t happen in summer!

It was almost exactly like when I was 7 and my grandparents tried to stuff me with candies and treats. At the end of the flight, I must have gained 5 pounds. :)
I did Delhi to SFO four times on United before Russia closed its airspace. Economy was a nightmare. Premium economy was tolerable. And business class was amazing. Being able to lay down and sleep on a such a long flight is a game changer.
@@michaelmitchell6629 From India it'd likely cost you around 95 dollars to travel to Thailand. There's Vietjet, which is an economy airline. If you've got more money to spare, you can always go with the more reputed airlines.
So true, I had a trip from Shanghai to Sydney via Delhi in 2018, the reason why I booked air India because that was really cheap, it was a nightmare that I could not forget in my entire life, next time when I went somewhere else I rather pay more for other airlines.
In the end, the only difference from economy from business was the seat, the rest was more or less the same experience. Not worth paying extra for such a "service".
it certainly is more than the seat. it depends on airlines; business and first class have their lounge with free drinks and food, choice of drinks and food on the flight.
@@willengel2458 That review actually reminded me of some Aeromexico business flights I took pre-pandemic (I assume now it can only be worse with even less competition). It really was just the seat, the attendants were really aloof and unwilling to do anything. The lounge? In Mexico City it was crowded with upgraded econ passengers, and nowhere to sit!
These travel videos are much better than actualy travelling oneself. No stress anxiety, tedium or expense, just sit in the comfort of your own home and watch someone else do it.
Last time I flew out of Delhi with BA. We had endless issues with getting the passengers to sit down for take off. A very cross captain on the PA telling them to sit down or they would be removed from the flight. Have also flown with Aeroflot many moons ago. Terrifying to be honest.
I also hate the crew controlled windows. The cabin always feels so much more confined when they are locked closed during daylight and they do provide eye shades for those with issues. One of the promoted features of the 787 is the extra large windows but not much point if they are darkened out is there. A means of crowd control to the crews advantage me thinks.
I really don't mind though. If that the decision of cruise, well we have just to cooperate. I know it would be frustrating for many people, and we want to enjoy the land at that altitude, but I guess each airlines have their thinking.
The opening scene made me laugh. It seems that the taxi drivers around the world have something in common: when they see you arriving to some place which is obviously your destination (usually just getting off another taxi), they hurry up to offer you a taxi ride. Remarkably, it often happens at the departure areas of the airports.
It is unfortunate you had to endure this, Noel. Hopefully, witht he new leased Delta aircraft on several routes, and Tata's ownership, Air India is about to turn a leaf for better!
TATA is no more the family group it was... They have expanded too much... Put their hands into various business.... That their HR should be the worst department starting from the dept... Especially in Airline and Hospitality industry... Both their Airline and Hotels which was once their pride under TATA.... Is now like a glorified Dhaba joint... The complete mgt and staff overall are I guess not from any premium institutions... And are either recommended or pass outs from B OR C grade colleges or dime a dozen MBA programs.... Half or most can't pronounce and poor in language delivery... Unprofessional and don't really know the meaning of Hospitality.... Most are arrogant and have massive attitude issues... How they get such jobs beats my imagination after experiencing the ground and flight crew...or their staff and mgt at their Taj group Hotels... I think the Oberoi Group are the best in India for Hospitality... If they had an airline they would be no 1 as well.. Old is Gold.. TATA under TATA and his predecessor were the best years. .for every person in the group.. Staff or manager were of Quality... They loved their jobs... Because the owners from the top cared for human relations to every single customer... Like a family... This present lot are a poor lot in attitude... Training and efficiency....
That is why I completely avoid the 787 on longhaul flights: They completely dim the windows - if you like it or not - and so take away the beauty of flying!

I saw a rat the size of a cat on a disgusting air India flight. That was the first and last Air India Flight i ever took or will take. Can you imagine what a rat that size could do to the wires on a plane !!! Absolute trash !
A year back air india was handled by direct indian government thats why service was below average, now its been handed over back to founder of Air india(TATA) and made privatization .. I hope they will correct these types or error and make air India one of the best in the world
That was shocking, in almos every respect. Air India really need to up their game. I bet the inflight survey was also "data unavailable", too. Thanks for taking the pain on our behalf, Noel.

When I used to work for Air India a couple of years back, we used to designate a person to check for broken seats on arrival. The flight would have 15 open seats at the beginning and after the arrival we would be oversold by 10. Definitely one of the interesting airlines that I’ve worked for…nothing like seeing a first class seat all taped up and worn… Thank you for all your videos and for making this feel like we’re with you on your journeys! We all love you!
This definitely proves why I really will continue to have Air India in the absolute last option when I do eventually travel to India, though it worries me as to what issues you had during your solo travel
I put them on that list back in 1990 and never looked back. I think when they get the new planes and sack all the old Airindia staff might give them another go.
it is fortunate for air travelers the Indian airlines do not use the same contractor that maintain or service the Indian Air Force. they've killed more pilots than their enemy. 😁😁
Your giggly sort of happiness over returning home was infectious. Thanks for the cheerful review of the trip. It seemed to have had what my sons called their breakfast cereal when they were kids. Mucky charms 🙃
i am based in Delhi, and I avoid Air India at all costs. It doesn’t matter if they are the only choice for a direct flight to your destination, or their ticket is half the price of European or Japanese airlines. Would rather take a ship than flying with them.
India is overall very diverse from inside The crowd, chaos which you see is just a tiny part of that with the rest of the parts being completely difference For example you can experience a silent forest trek in Himalayan mountains with old buddhist monasteries if you go to Northeast india, you can see a version of Tibet in Ladakh, you can see a natural retreat in the mountain valley in Himachal Pradesh You can experience a typical seaside beach in Goa, you can experience the beauty of tropical backwaters in Kerala and a old European town vibe in the city of Kochi You can be amazed to see the flora and fauna of Ooty a hill station in South India + mountain railway ride in Darjeeling, Himachal Pradesh Moreover you can even experience snowfall in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh Better watch the travel vlogs of India made by american, british youtubers like Ride with Gabi, Those happy days, Dannys Gotta world loose!!!! There is a lot of propaganda in youtube these days against China, IndiaActually India is the fastest growing economic power currently earlier it was China!!! Poverty is currently shrinking rapidly as more and more Indians are entering middle class category! India has the fastest growing middle class and currently India is in its transition phase something which China faced in 1990s, South Korea in 1970s! Comparing an emerging typical Asian economic powerhouse with a backward Islamic Middle Eastern hellhole is ridiculous

I flew business from the US to Hyderbad by Emirates - brilliant experience (about 15 years ago). Then the bullshit started. At passport control my passport was thrown back to me and pointed to a different area along with about 10 other foriegners. This was allegedly passport control for non Indian citizens. There was no one there and we were told to wait for the customs officers. After an hour of waiting they came out of some offices to our right. What they didn't know (or didn't care) but the blinds were broken and they were just drinking tea and playing cards. They then started to process us but the fingerprint readers were not working so they told us to wait (30 mins) when a official came along, inspected the readers, rebooted the system and they started to work. It took approximately 15 minutes to process us all. I have never seen incredible levels of laziness and rudeness - just no pride at all. The internal flights were just as bad, thankfully no customs agents to deal with.
Really bummed about the “no window” ideology that’s become ingrained in todays flying culture. Looking out the window has always been my favorite part of flying.
The only enjoyable thing about flying.
Embarrassing AF. Looks like seriously shitty service.

Air India never returned the $400.00 from the previous two way flight I had paid for. Where as, other air lines returned the money to a few friends who were also traveling. Air India never responded to my emails.
My hard earned money, they just stole it from me.
I don't think I will ever support and buy another Air India ticket again.
Air India is only good for food. With Indians travelling in that and British Airways the planes smell of curry farts and sweat.

$1,885 for that flight? Disgraceful. And airlines should stop controlling window views - other than during landings and takeoffs. How about deep cleaning your filthy planes, by the way?

$1885 for a business class flight one way is about right actually. If not a good deal even.
Why should they even control the windows during takeoffs and landings? That's the time when people would want to see out of them the most.

Air India's 787s average 8 years old, the oldest are over 10. That's far from "quite new" and plenty of time for wear and tear. No excuse for it not being attended to though but seats can break at any time. Airliners get a lot of hard use.

@Billy The Goat I've flown on Air India (economy) a few times. Long haul in the 787 was good, everything worked, service and food were great and there certainly was no hygiene problem.
I’d be so disappointed to have a window seat where I couldn’t look out when I wanted to. For me it’s the best thing about flying.

Air India 32 years ago, 747 from Heathrow to Mumbai. The toilets were overflowing with wee and other delightful particles, actually running down the aisles. The smell was disgusting. The flight crew blamed a group of Indians that did not wish to use a modern toilet. Since then I carried the plastic bag type shoe protectors that police use at crime scenes. I'm slowly catching up with your back catalogue. 👍

The APU is als used in emergencies for engine failure, so if you are correct that’s hilarious that they would leave with such a defect

Since Air India is getting privatised and the Tata Group already has experience running Vistara and AirAsia India, Air India's reputation can be built back up.
That leaves a lot of safe airlines off your list.

The n they get bought by 3rd world with a few $$
Theres your recipe for misery
Luckily a private company bought Air India. No more govt controls. Things will improve for Air India soon. Cuz Can't get worse
That is why I completely avoid the 787 on longhaul flights: They completely dim the windows - if you like it or not - and so take away the beauty of flying!
yet it's the most comfortable aircraft in the sky... priorities lol. i get you though haha
You shouldn't judge a 787 long haul flight based on Air India.
@@NSW-ye3xw I do not judge it on Air India but on own experiences on ANA, Etihad, American, LOT and Air Canada!

LOL love the little jab at Sam Chui a couple times. Absolutely love Josh and Noel's videos. They're super humble and show the more real side of flying. Whether it's in economy business or first class Noel and Josh don't try to oversell the experience.
What did he say about Sam, sorry I missed it.
@@david.mihaljcic He said at least he's not flying first class in Emirates all the time or talking to crew members endless. It's because Sam is always flying Emirates and seemingly only flies first class. And whenever he flies he hardly ever leaves them alone and seems to talk their ears off. But they have put on a front for the camera for sake of not tarnishing the airline.
Sam's flying is kinda delusional because he seems to make it seem so unrealistic whereas Sam and Noel are more humble and show you the real side of flying regardless of the class you're flying in.
@@LT81baller Sam did start from the bottom , now he is celebrity and Aircrafts sponsor him and more over his videos are like a documentary. Noel is not even close to him, hes just a vlogger... there shouldnt be any comparison. Both have a different content altogether. I like Noel's honesty but hes a fool 😂 who doesnt gather any information or does any research before hand. Watch other indian videos , he proves it.
Also Josh is another fool, who expects Western standards in eastern countries and flights too. Even he needs to know about the place before he comments.
@@hrithickdevadiga3798 the bottom of what? Sam's been building his name on family money for decades. First with photography, then this.
Was in India 2 months ago as a tourist, it was completely filthy
This was really interesting - imagine booking a Business Class flight, finding metal sticking out your seat, and someone firing tape on it and asking you to settle down for the next 9 hours, hahhaa
Haha! My Air India 747 seat was held together with duct tape, Frankfurt to Los Angeles! 😀
@TradcraftRussell ditto! My damn armrest was held together with electrical tape and when I questioned why... "This is security for you...." was the response. I'm sure my intelligence nearly died, in that moment.
I don't understand. There appeared to be several unoccupied seats, why didn't they just give the passengers one of the unoccupied seats? Or did they insist that the passenger KEEP the broken seat , because THAT was his/her assigned seat and the Crew's FLIGHT MANUAL did not have a Rule about switching a customer's seat !
I've only flown long haul out of Delhi once, but it was in 1975 on Syrian Arab Airways (I was doing it on the cheap!). It involved two super-annuated 707's, changing at Damascus... Both aircraft were ex BOAC, ex BEA, ex BEA Airtours....etc. The route was Delhi, Tehran, Damascus, Munich, LHR. Certainly an experience!
Wow amazing. We’re the older planes a bit rough around the edges? Bumpier rides?
That's so cool!
@@sjwilkin They were very tired....lol. Then there was the emergency go around at Munich when a Volkswagon mini bus drove onto the runway as we crossed the perimeter fence! not your usual flight experience...
Nice to see the two of you enjoying each other’s company! Sorry your flight was sun par.
Noel’s expression and funny voice to “check out the menu” made laugh for so long and I don’t know why 10:59
Hi Noel, I'm a recent viewer of your videos and become a convert. I'm currently watching all your back catalogue, time permitting, there's quite a few to view. Just wanted to thank you for allowing me to travel around the world with you via your great videos. 👍
Thank you Sean! Welcome onboard!
Our Air India flight was pretty good in 2017. We were on a Dreamliner, like you I didnt enjoy the window experience. The toilets were well used but clean enough. I think we paid approx £800 return to Delhi.
I love how giddy you looked when you finally seen England....everyone knows what that smile on your face feels like when you finally get home !!!!
8:30 reminds me of coming home from Afghanistan. Stuck on a tarmac in turkey in the plane during refuel. The terminal was under construction we weren’t allowed inside. Plane was basically off for refueling…. 2 hours. It got VERY hot
Air India are just THE WORST airline ever. Wouldn't ever fly air India again.
It was a great air line ever Singapore air used to look upto it ,but then it was nationalised
I saw a rat the size of a cat on a disgusting air India flight. That was the first and last Air India Flight i ever took or will take. Can you imagine what a rat that size could do to the wires on a plane !!! Absolute trash !
Maybe it was a member of the flight crew? 🧑🏻✈️🐀
@@chrismayer3919 No the Air India crew are a different kind of Rat.
It seems the cool fancy “oooo look at our dimmable windows” was just a con so that the crew had complete control over them!
I was about to book a flight to India from the US and after seeing this I can’t. ILL PASS 😂 awesome content mate! Cheers from Mexico
A year back air india was handled by direct indian government thats why service was below average, now its been handed over back to founder of Air india(TATA) and made privatization .. I hope they will correct these types or error and make air India one of the best in the world
Yu are saved!
I get the feeling that this guy really really really wanted to go back home to England!
To "Lunduuun" that he said about 10 times
I've been to India. Nice trip, but I was happy to leave.
That was shocking, in almos every respect. Air India really need to up their game. I bet the inflight survey was also "data unavailable", too. Thanks for taking the pain on our behalf, Noel.
Air India was “ interesting” pre Covid As Forest Gump, said AI is like a box of chocolates you never know what you are going to get
The late 70s seat configuration which probably hasn’t been cleaned since then either
Noel I’m surprised u did not sanitize your seat before taking it
As always Noel a fun vlog
The “Cherrt” tomato pasta sounds delightful 😂
When I used to work for Air India a couple of years back, we used to designate a person to check for broken seats on arrival. The flight would have 15 open seats at the beginning and after the arrival we would be oversold by 10. Definitely one of the interesting airlines that I’ve worked for…nothing like seeing a first class seat all taped up and worn…
Thank you for all your videos and for making this feel like we’re with you on your journeys!

Would rather take a ship than flying with them.
lol why would you expect anything that comes out of India to be clean?
😂😂😂😂 true
Because your mom face isn't clean😂
I've watched this video a couple times now and I'm strongly wondering if someone didn't sit in your seat Noel while you were doing the Lou Review because I can't for the life of me see that hair on the window at any time prior to showing it to us

Good Lord what a horrendous experience. Noel thank you so much for putting yourself on the line for all of our enjoyment!
This video proves that you can make something out of nothing.
