I’m from India myself but I live abroad. Every year when I go to India, it feels like I’ve entered some other world especially when compared to the country I’m living in. People there literally have no sense(ignorant). For example, the government gives housing to those who are homeless but those people prefer to sleep on the streets and rent out the provided housing given to them(for extra income). Honestly it’s horrible living there(mostly because of the disgusting mindset). But for information, Chennai is comparatively much much better than most North Indian cities.
Interesting to hear. And yes, I already stated your conclusion (at the time) that Chennai was the best of a bad bunch. And yet still terrible. I made that clear so that I wasn’t making an unfair representation

I think they basically use it like sonar. Rather than eyes they use ears to know where everyone is (which, is everywhere, as the traffic comes in every direction)

The reason for such system is because these are quite old systems, They were not made for that much traffic decades ago, And other then to renovate re-plan the system they just keep adding onto it making it more messy without giving any second thought. If you now look at the new structure and roads they have all necessary steps taken for it, They are clean and safe, It's just that we can't do anything for these old roads now, If we want to renovate them then we have to block the roads which is equal to cutting of blood supply for the city plus there is bureaucracy and politics involved halting the reconstruction of them.

I completely agree that India's infrastructure is not par with the rest of the world, but keep in mind that eminent domain law is not applied in India like the rest of the world. So, the government has a hard time building better infrastructure in existing cities. By no means is this the only reason. Culture is taken into consideration, but the modern government has a really uphill battle.
I am going to put these in the simplest terms: 1. All human rights is considered equal as property rights. 2. A person who owns the property has the right to make the decision first, and not even the state/government can make the decision for him or her for the community good. and lastly very important: Third, the Lockean idea of constitutional protection of private property is based on the notion that rights are not created by the constitution, but are only protected by it. Such an understanding implies that the constitution and the sovereign cannot take away property involuntarily. So, you see the problem of infrastructure in old cities (the land owner does not want to give an inch for expansion of a road or side walk), that is why there is a push for new/smart cities, but because of India's corrupted bureaucracy it is moving at snails pace. India has lots of flaws, but on equal side it has greater good also. Thank you.

I always say this to everyone wanting to visit India - Indian cities are amongst the worst places to visit in India. I know it's a general thing for any traveller to visit the big cities in a country, but Indian cities aren't worth it. Once you get out of them and go to smaller towns or the countryside, you'll have way better experiences. I think India's true soul lies outside its big cities.
Thank u for constructive criticism. Indians who are having the opportunity to receive education must work for the betterment of the country (eradicating poverty is must) rather than leaving it. Thank you for this video. God bless you.

You see in India people wont stop to let you cross the road.
The trick is If you simply walk over slowly then the vehicles will slow down to let you cross. So all you have to do is see where the vehicle is and at what speed they are moving toward u before u decide if u want to cross the road. As u try cross the road, the vehicle at speeding distance sees u will slow down to let you cross. You can gesture stop sign at them too for better safety margin.
Thanks for trying to help there - it’s still pretty chaotic even with “the hand”, but it does usually work ✋

India has a wonderful culture with a rich history. India actually had 1/3 of the entire World GDP centuries ago. Now look at its condition. Extremely unsanitary, extreme corruption, full of scammers, zero Womens rights and horrible human rights records, incredible amounts of racism and casteism, super polluted, terrible entertainment industry, horrendous infrastructure, flawed education system, little job opportunities, and the list goes on.
I feel horrible at times that India, once an evergreen nation, became reduced to this. Hope people understand.

We, too, are not happy with the dirt and poor city planning, and we understand that it will take time to improve the standards. Public services and politics are not in the best form. I also believe that you may be accustomed to the comforts of your home country, and as a budget traveler, you should have the mental capacity to accept the place in its raw form and look for positivity.
I can list many ways in which India is better than other places. We are a peaceful country, and we are proud of the progress we have made. Though the pace of progress may be slow, we are still moving forward, and that's fine.
To all visitors planning to come to India, I would say that visiting India is an experience. After all, what's the point of tourism if every place looks and feels familiar?
Thanks for taking the time to share such a well thought out comment. I agree that travel is about local experiences, however, tourists looking for those can find them in so many other amazing countries (even just in SEA) that don’t involve the same risks to personal safety through roads, hygiene, pollution, poor accommodation and scamming that it really isn’t worth it

I cant say that I saw too many of the new roads you refer to, albeit Kolkata was way more advanced as 'little London'

You tried to experience the chaos of India and it got to you. However there are a lot of calm places also in India.
There is a vlogger Sean King who is from Norwich, he spent time in Kasol in Himachal Pradesh and he loved India. Kasol also has received snowfall.
There is a state in India called Mizoram and the people there look like Thais, it is a calm region of India. I really love their music. I have created three playlists from there
1) 25 Mizo Artists and 25 Mizo songs
2) Top 75 Mizo songs
3) 460 Mizo songs I love.
Mizoram music is like USA or UK music of 1970s.
I recall after seeing a few vlogs of yours I recommend you Burra Bazar in Kolkata and Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi because I knew you wanted to experience the chaos of India.
The chaos of India, some love it while some loath it.
Wow thats so thoughtful! I hear that the northern border is meant to be nice - probably because it’s so far removed from the country itself (overcrowding, pollution, chaos)!

I haven't heard about domain law - what's the history of this in India?
I am going to put these in the simplest terms:
1. All human rights is considered equal as property rights.
2. A person who owns the property has the right to make the decision first, and not even the state/government can make the decision for him or her for the community good.
and lastly very important:
Third, the Lockean idea of constitutional protection of private property is based on the notion that rights are not created by the constitution, but are only protected by it.
Thank you.

In cities it is messed up.
