HOW I COLOUR: WHITE FLOWERS | Using colour pencils | Adult colouring

- Hi guys!
I have had a few requests for how to colour white flowers, or how I make flowers look white on white paper. So, I thought I would share this on the double page spread from Hanna Karlzon’s book Spirit Animals - you have all seen this page as a WIP for a long time now!
As always, I have used Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer pencils, dry - you can match up the colours exactly with the Polychromos. And the only other thing you need is a white paint pen or a white gel pen, whichever you prefer.
Hope you enjoy the video.
Until next time…
Happy colouring!

Hi guys!
Hope you enjoyed the video.
I know many of you enjoy the 'How I Colour' videos on the channel, so if you have any requests please do let me know here! And if it is something I know how to do, I will try and share my process!
Thank you for watching and happy colouring 🤗💗
do you have a color along video of how you did those Lady Bugs? THey are gorgeous!
Your such a good teacher. Love watching your videos.
Thank you so much 🤗💗
Hello again. I love this video. I took lots of notes. I am going to try and color some white flowers this week. Tfs
Lizzie Harper has an excellent video on white flowers on YT if you would like some further ideas. She is a professional botanical illustrator who works in watercolor but the concepts are the same as for color placement, and you can get a similar effect from layering pencils. White flowers typically have shadow(grey/blue/purple) and reflected light from surrounding objects. So very pale blue, green, yellow, pink, etc are common. A petal near a leaf would grab some green, one near the center might have a bit of yellow or orange. This reflected light helps to keep them from looking grey or "dirty" and makes them fit with the plant. She also shows techniques to show white petals on white background (either the paper or another white object) by strategic use of shadow outside the petal. All of these techniques can be used for white animals or objects as well.
Thank you for the suggestions....very useful tips as always 🤗💗
Once again : clear, perfect, enjoying, stunning, comfortable to listen... you're a fairy !
Thank you so much for the lovely comment, glad you liked the video 🤗💗
Oh thank you so much. This is an awesome tutorial on white flowers. I've always been a little scared of doing white wrong, or just making them white from the paper itself., but this looks great. You have a really great way of explaining things in order for anyone to try to do this as well. Your videos are always so informative and relaxing to watch and listen to you explain makes my coloring experience extremely less stressful (because it's not supposed to be ! ) but you help me color more freely and also learning how to color better.
You're very welcome, I am so glad that I have managed to explain things rather than confuse everyone watching! Thanks for the lovely comment. It makes me happy to hear that you find my videos relaxing, thank you! 🤗💗

Red parts: 121, 117, 113, 219, 225, 103, 157
Black parts: 100, 273, 145
Hope this helps 🤗💗
