Audie Murphy fascinates me. To be a war hero of mythic proportions and then take to the movies like he was born to be a star is fantastic. Several actors, of course, who were already stars did themselves proud in the war, and movie stars have come from the most unlikeliest of places, but Audie's story is unique and unbelievable.
Audie Leon Murphy is still my giant HERO to this day... Audie is still the great legend of a man whom all people should aspire to be like... I often wonder what he would think of the state of our world today, he fought for freedom of the people the world over.... A young man with so much courage, determination of never letting the enemy gain an inch of ground in any situation, a total patriot to his country, the most highly decorated soldier of WWll and he was only nineteen years old at the end of the war.... Audie received every medal his country could award a man for outstanding service above and beyond the call of duty, he gave it all and then some on top of that.... God stood beside Audie in battle and took him home to America to his loved ones, his country honoured him.... Audie became a best selling author, an great actor, composer, song writer and he fought for returned soldiers to receive the help they needed for PTSD ( was known as shell shock ) speaking openly about his own struggles of the hell he went through and still suffered with..... Audie taught great lessons in life and what touched me so much as I grew up was never giving up or in to anything in life, keep fighting till the fighting is done... I still adore, respect, admire everything Audie stood for in a man and human being, his honesty, self respect, humbleness... REST IN ETERNAL PEACE AUDIE LEON MURPHY... YOU ARE GOD'S SON WHOM IS NOW RESTING IN PEACEFUL SLUMBER.
I particularly love this one. Have to have my daily dose of Audie. I should be retired by now, but can't afford to, so I use Audie as an example that keeps me going. I just think of what he had to endure in WWII and I know as the song says, I can walk that extra mile".
I had to retire recently but on up side i get to spend more time learning what i can about my hero, God bless what he's left us of himself, I love audie to the moon and back...
@@patdaniel7961 Research on Audie certain is a plus. I see you are a member of Audie's website. I am as well. It is an incredible website for a remarkable man. Headed to Texas on Thursday for Audie Days. First time; can hardly wait. I have wanted to go to the museum for sometime.
