Update: I pulled the carb off camera. The way I did it was to push/pull the rubber intake boot into the air box thus allowing the clearance to pull the carb out through the top. Good luck.
enjoying your Traxter videos. I just acquired a 2003 that has a similar story to yours. Thought I should put some gas in it only to find gas leaking out like crazy. Seems to leaking right at the petcock. Doesn't matter what position it is in. Will have to get the side panels off to see what is happening. Up in Canada - 20 freezing cold so will likely wait now until spring. Have you taken off the cover panels?? Bill
Thank you for your video. I couldn’t find the idle adjustment. Your video showed me where the adjustment was. Turning the idle screw didn’t change the idle speed. I adjusted the cable where you showed, and it idles perfect now. It idled too high, which made changing the shift lever very difficult. I can now shift from forward to reverse easily. I have owned the bike since new in 02. These machines are awesome and last forever. Near bulletproof. Hard to beat the engineering at brp. Thanks again
So, just so I'm clear on this. To adjust the idle I need to do it where the cable goes into the carb? Just bought an 03 and it idles a bit too low that sometimes it will die. Just need to speed the idle up a tad.
My dad sold my uncle the one I got. So just believe me, regular 4t mineral engine oil. And the emgo oil filter. The choke lever is designed to do that.
I work on cat d series trucks, 16 cylinder motors twice the size of that bike. Dude used little to much of that spray to get it going, let's just say there was engine parts all over the ground.
Usually removing the airbox is required to get clearance to remove the intake boot from the engine, then you can remove the boot and slide it out sideways with both intake side and engine side boots removed :) Sometimes removing a frame piece is required, but I'm sure you'll get'er done in no time :)
There was no O-ring on the side of that carb when you removed the throttle side cover? I have a problem with my throttle return not hitting the stopper and coming to normal idle every the time so I think it's a spring return issue in there.
Hi I'm not sure you can buy this machine new or one like it. This is not a sport ATV. This is a Utility ATV. I have a couple JD Bucks Like this. They are strong and stable but not fast. However they will still go 60mph.
And can like you like? What kind of mechanic are you?? That's an "intake" it sucks air...doesn't matter where ya put it if yjur going to use it. Your lucky yku didn't blow that motor up spraying that shit like that. Shits called starting fluid......for a reason. Not running fluid
I don't know why you wasted your time pulling that shit apart. You claim to be a mechanic, I just picked one up from my uncle. It sat...I pulled whatever gas was on tank out. Put fresh gas with seafoam, yes the shit works when you use it as it's invented. Before I changed plugs, I started it and let it run for awhile. I then shut it down, and changed plugs gas and oil/filter. What I will say, don't be fooled buy internet. Do NOT use synthetic nor synthetic based oil. The engine is shared oil with transmission, you'll burn the clutch.

@@cptnbillyjohnstone510 Yes if I remember right you have to take the seat off and you should see the screws for the side panels. Good luck.
I Really appreciate you taking time to make this video. I have a 05 John Deere 500 buck. Same motor as yours. Needs a carb Removal.

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, I figured out on this machine you can slide the rubber air boot back into the air box and it made it easy.
Awesome! Just gave you a shoutout near the end of my video :) BTW - intro is cool as heck :)
Wow, I appreciate the shutout I'll have to check it out tonight. Thanks for the feedback, I'm trying to get a little more creative on my intros.

I think there was an o ring but it's been a long time so i cant say for sure. You might have a cable problem. Good luck.
Min.354. There's a white reservoir with a black cap when you first started I'm screwing do you know what that reservoir is please tell me
Probably the rear brake reservoir.

I just picked one of these up. It has spark in one spark plug but not the other. Maybe you can point me in the right direction?
And I just put a new ignition coil in it and it’s still doing the same thing
Check the plug wire and the coil. It could just have a dirty connection.
Hi did u find the problem mine does the same thing any ideas
Backyard mechanic, hold your hand over the intake. You need starting fluid you got other issues
Eat a lemon for that cold, the whole thing :) Not joking!
Hmm, thanks I'll try it.
Should never have to adjust carb other than the idle. That's why they give you that nice knurled nob
You drained the fuel lines......they were empty
Your the last dude I'd bring shit to

Not Canadians! Quebecours
hey dude when this video started you had a hose off that i need to we’re it went the hose is laying on your breather box
