Plot twist! The beavers have their own channel where they go around looking for open culverts that need to be clogged. Sometimes they'll put up a trail camera to see if they can catch the human that comes around during the day. They know it's futile, the human will just come by and unclog it again, but if they do a good enough job, maybe it'll be enough to keep the human busy for a few hours.
Very interesting post. Saw the moose, heron, bobcat and beaver. Think bobcat was hoping for a beaver snack? Always so beautiful the areas you visit. Really enjoy your adventures. Nice place for a dip too. Can't forget the moose dropping culvert. 😅😂🤣😳🤔🤭. Stay safe and take care. Fish did eat some of those dehydrated apples anyway. Probably the beaver if he found any? ♥️🦫♥️

I just learned so much about beavers! Here in Kansas where our trees are not super plentiful, the beavers can wreak havoc on a good stand of woods that also provides dry habitat for deer, pheasant and other game. They aren't typically seen as beneficial here for that reason. I appreciate your knowledge and conservancy mindset! Lol, and I ended up here from a random drain cleaning video! New subscriber now!

Loved this one! Sorry you had to work so hard and got stinky! Watching that busy beaver work to refill the culvert was something else! and the bobcat added the icing to the cake. Thanks a lot!
What a really great job again. So glad you took the extra effort to keep the cameras running so we can see the beavers at work. Thanks for your efforts in capturing the beaver's work and you taking it down. Be safe.
Love to see the Beavers in action as you had in this video. They are indeed remarkable animals . They are so industrious in what they do. Great to see nature in action.
So glad to see your videos are still up and going. So much growth from when you only cleared street drains blocked with sticks. Really happy to see you're broadening your horizons
I was hoping you would try to partially clear each side of the plastic culvert in case the beavers blocked the concrete one again and the pressure washed out what was left in the middle of the plastic. Glad to see you made the attempt, it's fun to see the rake go so far in :) We may be doing nothing at all and wanting you to do everything, but we love you for it. We need to invent some type of super robust telescopic rake handle.
Your such a good person. I respect your hard work. I could never work this hard. So thank you for these videos and for trying to be a helpful person. I have never thought about or cared about culverts before I found your channel but your joy and spirit throughout these videos makes me love the process and I get so excited when you post new videos. Anyone remember when Post 10 unclogged city streets? Those were the days seeing cars trying to navigate thru the flood, driving on sidewalks, police closing the roads, etc. Who does that now since Post 10 is annoying the beavers? I regret suggesting to Post 10 to unclog beaver dams long ago. Ah - the good ol' days.
I was just wondering if, on that smaller culvert, you had been able to block it off with a piece of plywood, would that have allowed a buildup of pressure large enough to sweep some of the stuff in the middle out once the plywood was removed?
Man v beaver struggle goes on. One clears blocked culverts and films it for our entertainment. The other just clogs it and keeps the man busy. Great work post👍👍👍
I love it when you do a time lapse at the end of the video of the water coming out of the culvert as you unblock it please keep doing that it's very satisfying

Another great video, Post! I thought you fell into the water on the second culvert, but no splash and dry shirt. (Or did I totally miss it?) I am glad you have the second camera as I have been binge watching your old videos. (Even making fries and a time capsule) Congratulations on getting the beavers on film! Keep up your great work!
I just added the footage of me taking a bath since it was the same location but that was me returning to the location just to take a bath from a very dirty job right down the street
I made a 20 ft push pole from 4 lengths of 3/4" black pip pipe with couplers and a 3" flange at one end. Made it 20ft long at the most. I just fimrly hand tightened the unions so that I could break it down when done. Used to to push an impacted culvert full of grass clippings (low water flow allowed it to clog up). Yes, it's heavy, but durable.
I had a long Pipe I used at these Condos I landscaped at that had two Ponds, There was a Circular Saw Blade on the end to push/pull to unclog all the Willow tree branches that fall in the ponds through a 12" Culvert pipe
We used it once or twice a Month depending on the Rain we got, These were Retention ponds that got a lot of water when rain from up in the higher lands came through, We left the Pipe in the Colvert but disconnected the Blade off the end of it.

The first culvert you worked on came back to bite you. Ninety nine per cent of what you pulled out with the rake and then allowed to flow back in never came out thru the outlet. It let the water level drop but just increased the thickness of the clog without the mud further back in the culvert pipe.
A question for you, sir. Could you float a rope through a partly clogged culvert and use it to pull a chain through. Attach a grappling hook to the up river end of the chain and pull on the down river end with a come-along attached to a tree?

Usually outside but sometimes they have to be done from inside which is extremely dangerous and that's why I do it in many steps and like in my last video it took me 4 days to do a few hour job safely
@@post.10 There ought to be some way you could make a sort of grappling hook that opened up like a flower that you could run a rope down the center of the culvert pipe, and then hook up a manual winch at the other end, and pull that clog right through the pipe. Beavers are instinctively drawn to build dams across running water. While it causes problems for human infrastructure, by creating ponds and lakes they increase habitat for fish and migratory birds, reduce flooding and provide settling areas and filtration for contaminants. As their ponds silt up, new meadows are created, opening up forests and improving and diversifying habitat for deer and other animals. Pretty amazing!
I see the links above (for lights and camera rigs) but, I was wondering what you use for recording. I thought a few times I saw what looked like iPhones or some version of a cell phone. Do you use anything like a GoPro? I want to buy some recording equipment but, GoPro is kind of on the expensive side and there are some other brands out there that are much cheaper. Keep on trekking Post, we'll be here for you. :D Can't wait til I get to the next one in my list!
Why do you 'whoop' at the start of things? Is it for syncing up the second camera?
Yes, he's mentioned in different videos it's so he can sync them up properly
Whenever post throws the rake aside and it falls in the water I'm like... O.O
Right!!! Lol
Post do you ever worry about water born bacteria and diseases? Could be hepatitis or anything, especially around towns with bad drainage sewerage.
Loved the sped-up clips of the water flowing at the end.
I’ve never seen a beaver in action before. That is amazing but very destructive. Thank you for the video
Pretty amazing!
great work be safe it good being able to doing what you love.
Glad to have you doing this, Fun to watch, too.
That beaver at ~17 minutes was sneaking up behind you a couple minutes earlier in the video shortly after you stopped with the rake.
One of your best videos ever ❤❤
I see the links above (for lights and camera rigs) but, I was wondering what you use for recording. I thought a few times I saw what looked like iPhones or some version of a cell phone. Do you use anything like a GoPro? I want to buy some recording equipment but, GoPro is kind of on the expensive side and there are some other brands out there that are much cheaper. Any info would be appreciated.
P.s I love your channel ( I am not sure why 😊😉). I find it extremely interesting and learned a few things. I have been watching forever (on my Samsung TV account). Stay safe and much continued success!
Absolutely love watching your videos what you is an amazing gesture to keeping roads open and also protecting the beautiful open areas of here wildlife live
Finally I get to see some beavers at work. I know I have watched at least 50 of your videos hoping to see some beavers at work. You even got a bob cat taking a swim bonus material.
Another job well done !
that Bobcat was probably in there looking for some dinner.
Great video again my friend. Those beavers work hard, and so do you..
Dave and Chuck the Freak out of Detroit, also on in Boston, talked about you a couple of weeks ago my wife can't figure out why I love your vids. I guess it has to do with instant gratification keep it up Post.
Where did all the water come from to refill pond? Overnight footage was great. Awesome video.

How many takes do you go through? How many times did you break a rake doing jobs like this one?
Great beaver shots. It's been a while since we saw any, but this was good to see
