Bruh... just say she was crying.
Its sounds awfully like a bad wattpad story.
When you have an essay with 5000 words due tomorrow

Hahaha! This comment made my belly bellow with glee, rupturing the quaint quietness of a once still room.
I mean… Lol
Lollll
With so many famous actors in it, I wonder if it will be the next Contagion in ten years that we look back and freak out how accurate it was
dont have to look back, its pretty accurate already
infamous more.
Oh no
ten years?
It's already happening, just not so much on the nose.
The most horrifying thing is that we're probably heading where the movie went and that people will probably cheer it on all the way through, never realizing that they may well one day end up being a Mercer.
Think it's already happened... And they'll go as far as u allow them to... 😏
Read about Edward Snowden or watch the movie Snowden.. its already happening
It's already here.
Can go on about it a bit further but it might end up making u paranoid enough to get a tin foil hat... 😏😂
@Daniel James cancelculture isnt that major. Smartphones in general are way more dangerous
The Book hits even harder. In the end , she had a chance to turn it around and shut the system off - but she ratted Ty out and didn't do it. Annie falls into a coma and that brings Mae a new idea: that we should be able to see each others dreams. And that is the end of the book.
wtf
now dreams tooooooooooooo???????????????????
WOW
Can someone explain to me Ty’s purpose as a character? I’m just kind of confused from this recap. Was he also an employee of the company that was just apprehensive about it?
@@sealard2279 Ty is the head of a company bought by the Circle. He is the creator of TrueYou which is probably their version of UA-cam. If he managed TrueYou then he is an employee under the Circle umbrella of companies.
I thought it was interesting that the main character rather than rejecting the villain's plan for obvious world domination manages to thwart him completely by doubling down on the plan to the greatest magnitude effectively neutering and exposing the plan
I really loved how the book ended, it was much darker. Mae was full on invested in the Circle. She didn't take down the two leaders, but actually took down Ty and joined the leaders full on.
Lol what she didn't reject, she just replaced them.
…she didn’t “thwart” the plan, she simply replaced the original bad guy, just because it’s her and not Bailey doesn’t mean that all the consequences of the companies actions suddenly disappear and are no longer dangerous. Nothing changed except now it’s her trying to take over the world instead of Bailey
ok, so... what?
Sambert 446 it's a nice subversion

So... was it a legal reason that prevented them from naming the movie “google”?
It will be more accurate to name it phone or anything that can connect to internet
abd-animation 22 but the movie is about the intrusive company, not the devices themselves. And google is an intrusive company that collects information of every single person they can spy on
@@leobrent7926 well there are many intrusive companies like google.
certainly aspects of google in there - facebook as well as twitter and apple
Strangely, the building looks like the new Apple headquarters.
I remember how unbelievably disappointed I was in this film when I watched it considering how the trailer made the film seem SO much more interesting.
It was pretty lacklustre. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything special either.
ya same, i went with a group of friends because it looked really good, turns out to be one of the worst movies ive ever seen
Read the book, you'll love it a lot better. They watered down the movie a lot because I guess they didn't want to make Mae seem like a Villian but she totally went much further in the book. Her character was a lot darker.
Agree!
The books better
People are getting increasingly guarded about their privacy and freedom amongst each other but are giving away every imaginable personal details to apps
It always boggles my mind that the same people that are paranoid about the government spying on them seem to have no problem with Google or other such companies doing so... just by recording the information that they freely give away on the internet. It's weird to me where people do and do not draw the privacy line. It's like they don't seem to understand that the internet is a public place.
And now IG post challenges
You don't give yoru info:
The apps don't work
You do not have a job
You get suspected
There's so many stars in this movie! I can't believe I've never heard of it before. Thanks recap. I've learnt of many cool movies thanks to you. :) 😀
maybe marketing was not done correctly or some big show companies like social media gaints doesn't want this movie to show their true power , second one is just my thinking it can be wrong but it can't be over ruled
probably because the premise is stupid. Who would even welcome the idea of having a camera on them 24/7?

Don’t forget Karen Gillian from Guardians of the Galaxy. I went crazy everytime I saw someone I knew.

Ex-Hermione 🤣 Bruhh nice
Let's be real, with our phones being spied on already by companies, we're almost here.
Then what’s some weird things on my search history.
Everybody's talking about Hermione but nobody's talking about Karen Gillan (Dr Who) being in here.
RIGHT!!!
Me knowing her as Nebula from marvel :)
@@twizzle8409 her role of Amy Pond is iconic though, if you haven’t watched doctor who then you need to watch it for her.
@@rachelcookie321 stopped watching after that cast left the series. I just loved them to much and couldn’t get past that 💔😂
Nebula!
I thought the concept was cool and I was waiting for something really exciting to happen when I originally saw the movie in theaters but I was disappointed because the story was really flat and it didn't have a big climax
I didn’t think this was a movie. I thought this was just a documentary on twitch streamers lol
The only thing the movie did was compel me to visit the Apple Headquarters last summer. Felt like I was 20 years in the future.
Yeah, I felt the same. It was pretty anticlimactic
definitely get the book. It's soo much better (or the audio book if you're not big on reading). The story went in such a different direction.
"it didn't have a big climax" - yeah! It's not possible to watch Emma Watson without thinking about sex.
Alternate title: Hermione Granger deals with Karens
Avada kevadra always does the job.
Expect that she is one.
Yes
@@imev6lli Not sure that Avada kevadra would work on Nebula
and becomes the biggest one
This movie is relatable as that seems to be a possible outcome in the future. I can see how "instantly finding someone" or "help gets to you in seconds" can be helpful, but for those that dont want to be found, and really have no reason to be bothered, its horrible.
I remember back in 2015 when we had to read the book as incoming freshman at school. The movie was still in production then :O
Interesting they had high schoolers read the book considering the sex scenes in it... or wait did you mean freshman in college?
If you're wondering why you've never heard about this movie, it's because it wasn't that good to begin with.
Glad that we have "Right to privacy" as one of our fundamental rights. I don't even know how people can live with their privacy being discarded. Even though we have to sometime compromise things because of it, it is worth it.
haha patriot act go brr
@@Avstinato many countries have right to privacy as their right, I was talking about people whose country don't provide them with the bare minimum privacy. How does that makes me patriotic?

@@Avstinato ok, I made a fool out of myself over here. 🤣🤣
I didn't knew about that act because I am not from US. Also I thought you are calling me overly patriotic, that's why I said that. 😅
And how is that right to privacy working out for you, I wonder?
Deer killer, pretty ironic considering they killed a person
There's plenty of people out there that literally think animals' lives are worth more than humans' lives. And deep down honestly believe anyone who thinks differently than they do are not worthy of life.
your pfp
@@troodon1096 will you kill a dog that's about to tear a child's throat? Or animal life is worth more that the human?
@@troodon1096 yeah, well, I like to personally think that people that think like this should be classified as sub human and they should be placed in inhumane experiments until they die of Lou Gehrig’s disease or something
This is seriously one of the most terrifying ideas. I mean look at the outrage at some people for the ideas they actually want to share with people. Mercer would be the first among millions to die.
“You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain” -Harvey Dent
If the recap is this boring of a story, then the full length must have been a painful chore to sit through
I second that
When this happens people will blame institutions and companies all because they chose to ignore the agreement and click on the little box. 🙄
Can't blame companies for taking information that people freely give them without a thought and only seem to regret doing so AFTER the fact.
I watched this movie on Netflix about 4 years ago, because it was recommended to me.
Honestly I just wanted to see a movie with MC Emma Watson (I love this woman - sounds creepy, doesn´t matter) - I was so surprised how many other actors I knew from succesfull movies and serieses. Every other scene it seemed to be another one. I was surprised Morgan Freeman wasn´t in it :D
Haha I love her too.
Disappointed Hermione and Harry didn't have a romance still
@@Timbone07 Harry potter and hermione don’t match in the movies, hermione was a very serious girl, while harry needed some laughter for one fucking second. Ginny was a better match for harry.
@@kumalala1079 I read the books before the movies came out
I beg to differ.
If someone is depressed, they need a medical professional not a girlfriend is who is happy go lucky.
She could be manic
@@Timbone07 I didn’t read the books, but i watched the movies and read a fan theory once, that isn’t even a theory anymore, it’s the truth. Hermione was a big douchebag of a serious bag. While ginny actually made jokes and gave harry some happiness.
@@kumalala1079 Please, you have your opinion.
But you didn't read the books.
My opinion is based on the book. No need to use character assassinations, it doesn't make your point any stronger.
Maybe read the book so you can have an informed decision.
You are obviously biased towards Ginny but you are ignoring Hermione's backstory.
Unlike Ginny who had a fun family environment.
I cant recall it very well but they are many who argue that people connect when they have encountered similar difficulties.
It makes it easier to understand each other.
I didn't need to use ad hominem attacks against Ginny to make my point.
I am disappointed but I accept that the strong point of Harry Potter is the world building not the romance

I think this is already happening to some degree. I don't want to sound like a conspiracy nut but one incident in particular really got me thinking. So I was with a partner one night and getting head. My partner mentioned about my crappy humanscaping skills. Now I only used the generic stuff and have never researched anything. Next day, I noticed I'm getting ads for shavers, cream and waxing brands. From reddit, of course google ads even random forums. I don't know how these companies managed to "listen" in on a private conversation in a bedroom between 2 people during an intimate moment but certainly crept me out.
They "listen" when you agree to cookies on websites as it's considered to help target ads to their users
Your phone microphones are always on and always listening to you. It’s the main reason you actually see targeted ads.
I don’t remember the last time I’ve received a targeted ad based off my search history rather than what I’ve said out loud. That’s typically why I don’t accept cookies and disable targeted ads nowadays
Not just microphones. My cousin sent me a picture of him and his girlfriend, the next day both of them popped up in my recommendations on Instagram to follow. Creeped me the hell out.
Was the head good at least??

The Truman Show hits different tho

i´m fully convinced Emma and John Boyega NEVER RECORDED ANY SCENES TOGETHER. it's all editing, camera angles, and green screen.

Awe Emma Watson is so cute in this movie and she collaborated with Amy Pond!
If I could almost say they're actually sister-in-laws, because both Ron and Rory have the same father too, I'd say they would NOT be
Because the man who is Rory's "dad" is NOT his dad. He's actually his *foster* dad. His REAL dad is *Farder Coram* from _The Golden Compass_ kapiche?
For everyone who saw the movie and thought it sucked or fell flat, PLEASE read the book or get the audio book. The story is VERY different from the movie, much more compelling, definitely darker, and the ending is different too. They softened the movie to make Mae come off as the hero not sure why. I definitely think Emma could have played the darker character that Mae actually was, but I guess the directors / producers didn't want to risk it.
