It is literally a kid from the 80s idea of the future. Then 40 years later nothing is improved or created
Final scene is "let's look for children who have an idea on how to save the earth"
They could've asked a child " what do you think the future will look like?" Instead they went went off the trope from the 70s flying cars. Then stopped. Ended the movie with "well hopefully children can figure it out in 1-2 months"

I'm not mad, most disappointed, the movie was given a blank slate. Invent anything! Wether it exists or it's hypothetical doesn't matter just do it. The best they could come up with was " it's a jet pack, and 40 years from that point all the people make jet packs a prominent point in their life, so much so that nobody has even invented a single piece of ingenuity that our society is doomed unless someone comes up with the first original idea in over 5 decades" darn, I just spoiled the entire movie. I love and hate this film, as a film I like it, it's cute it has it's potential, it's a nice little film without having to go over the top. However the business side of this film makes me hate it, for whatever reason it cost nearly 200 million to make, it bombed as a result because no way it was making the money that it needed to "do well" as a result Disney pulled back on other projects that they were working on including a 3rd installment of the Tron series. Now granted I'll admit I don't understand the movie industry, but how this cost 200M is beyond me, it's not like it was absolutely jam packed with stars each asking 30M for their time. or anything

Disney fumbled the bag on this movie. That's when You really understood that no one at the top execs level understands nor love Cinéma.
    Absolute gem of a movie.
Brad Bird behind the Camera, Michael Giacchino for the soundtrack.
    Brilliant !

This video discusses a futuristic city where only individuals with exceptionally high IQs can enter. As a fan, I imagine Disney remaking Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy (Atom -> Aston/Alton/Adam) in the 2060s. It would be an incredible opportunity to explore the challenges and coexistence between humans and robots in a futuristic society, brought to life through Disney's unique storytelling.

A movie that had potential but failed to deliver.
It was simply too much of a public relations vehicle for reviving the Disney Tomorrowland theme park to be a good standalone movie.
The way this movie was cut (again and again?) always annoyed me and I wonder if there is a director's cut? That might be interesting to watch.

She also never faces real consequences for some of her actions and doesn’t acknowledge any of her faults. I don’t think she ever said “I’m sorry” in the movie.
