Hey Everyone! Hope you enjoy all the finds research in this episode!! Let us know your favourite one! Can you guess ours?
So great to have you back, missed you.
That’s so kind 🥹 thank you!! 🤎
G'day, so great to have your back, missed you, love see you out and about 🤠
Another fab one guys ❤❤
Thanks Megs!! We had a lot of fun researching this one! 😍🤎
Great finds ladies!
It was really nice to see you back in the fields 🙂 I especially love the history that comes along with your finds. Makes them come to life. Thanks for taking us on your latest adventure
Thank you Debra!! Good to be out detecting again!! We loved researching the finds this episode, glad you enjoyed the stories we shared! 🙏🤎
Hi ladies nice to see you back, some great finds, coin day
Coin days are the best days! Thank you so much Kim! Happy to be out detecting again 😍
So good to see you ladies back on the hunt! Totally enjoyed the story of Mary Gillick! It makes the coin even more special! :-)
Good to be out again! It was one of our favourite stories too!! 😍🤎
The Queen Victoria coin is beautiful. Nice search.
Always a delight to find one! Or two!! 😍
To my untrained eye, the piece of copper looks like a contact strip out of a torch. One of the bits that goes between two batteries to create/maintain a circuit.
Great finds and my personal favourite find from the video is the second Vicky + the historical background/context to follow!
The Victorian coin portraits are some of our favourites! Eye opening history!! I drew the line at Ellie quoting Charles Dickens.
I think I may have missed the quote 😅 nevertheless, fantastic day out for you two!
It didn’t make the cut 😆
@@RomanFound aaaah 😂😂
The Elizabeth II coin and story is really interesting!
We loved digging a little deeper into that find! We often don’t think about the artists behind the portraits on our coins!
Great episode girls, spoon has to be my favourite find 😎 Love a bit of cutlery
Ellie sure went down a cutler rabbit hole with the research!! 😆🥄
Some great finds !!! Tampa, Florida
Thanks Debbie!! 🤎
Great dig girls, and really enjoyed the extra background info too... 🙏🏻 Out of interest, I read somewhere that the different colour patinas on pre-decimals can relate to which mint they came from, (ie. slightly different mixes/qualities of metals used). Sounds very cool, but not sure how true that is... Have you heard anything similar?... Anyways, great stuff ta, and lastly, not sure my least favourite season for detecting. Like you say, there's nearly always something to present a challenge... I would say tho', that my fave is probably autumn, when there's a slight nip in the air and the heavier clothing starts to come out... 🤓... Ttfn, Bobby x
Your soils look a bit less dry up there, mine are Apple crumble where the find drops down between the clod into crevices. Glad to still relate to your vdi. Fave's always hammereds I'm afraid
Oh no not the dreaded crevices!! Hammered silver will always have our hearts! 🫶🤎
Really Really good good Y'all!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much Greg!! 💪🤎✨
It's such a tricky time for me and my hobby. Changed town, moved to Wiltshire, which is much better than London regarding farm land. But when you don't know anyone it's quite hard. I think I've managed to e-mail majority of farms in the region but they either are not the actual owners or they already have someone on it. I have nowhere to go and I really miss my permissions in Essex. It's been 2-3 months since my last dig. I'm not a big fan of paid digs (except for Let's go Digging) as most of them are just there for the money. Hopefully something will come soon. Good luck !
Sorry to hear you’re having a tough time, could be worth doing some door knocking? A friendly face sometimes makes all the difference! It really is the hardest part of the hobby! We enjoy doing the big rally’s but group digs can be really hit or miss. Good luck as well! 🤎
Have you done a detectival video?
Awsome 😎👌🏽
Thank you! 🙏
I found a fork to go with that spoon!
Almost got the full set! 😆
Do you ever fly a drone to look down on the land to see if you can make out the outlines of long gone buildings?
@@tonysutton6559 no fly zone 🥲 but we do use Lidar maps online!
